Even though General Hospital viewers often complain that the show's cast is so bloated that they cannot find enough time to fit their favorites into enough episodes, they still yearn for more. Half of the overused and overall boring characters could have taken a step back to allow others to shine.
Here are 10 characters who could potentially return to Port Charles, but the writers refuse to bring them back, no matter how much sense their presence would make.
Tommy Hardy
Tommy is a perfect character to bring back and build any kind of storyline around. The last time we heard from him was over a decade ago – a message that he had finished medical school – so the character can be built from the ground up. As Liz's cousin, he would fit right in with Port Charles.

Jorge Gil’s statement in the first episode of Who Killed Him? made sure that Mario Rodriguez, Paco’s longtime sidekick and best friend, got arrested. The second chapter of the show focuses on Mario and how his life has been since meeting Paco.
Spoilers Ahead
Why did Mario get arrested?
Mario seems pretty certain that he’s innocent, and he even reassures Brenda that there’s nothing to be worried about. Brenda insists that he should take a lawyer with him before he makes the statement to the police, but Mario feels that innocent people don’t need lawyers to protect them. Just when he’s finished talking with Brenda, police surround his house and arrest him for murdering Paco Stanley. When he asks the reason for his arrest, Saul says they got a tip from Foreign Affairs that Mario and Brenda tried to renew their passports and flee from Mexico.

In the early 90s, producer Aaron Spelling and TV creator Darren Star struck primetime drama gold with the high school soap opera Beverly Hills 90210. The show laid the groundwork for some good old-fashioned scheduled viewing for homes waiting to see what kinds of trouble the kids at West Beverly would get into. While the series would get to put its characters in some compromising situations like Brandon’s gambling, Brenda‘s pregnancy scare, Dylan’s drug use or Donna Martin graduating, Spelling would explore more steamy stories with the spin-off Melrose Place. The show would crossover stars as Beverly’s Dylan and Kelly befriended Melrose resident Jake. And when Heather Locklear was added to the cast, the show’s popularity would skyrocket.

Mexican Netflix series Cindy la Regia: The High School Years navigates through the lives of young teenagers as they enter high school. While all of them go through a bunch of changes in their bodies, it is interesting to watch how a lot of them are accepted or not by their friends and family. The show is inconsistent, but the writers should be given credit for their intent to make a show on a subject that is considered taboo in Mexico.
Spoilers Ahead
Who Was Cindy?
Cindy was a young teenager from a rich Mexican family based in San Pedro Garza Garcia, a city filled with opulence and rich families who were narrow-minded about plenty of subjects such as pre-marital sex, homosexuality, and teenage pregnancy. Cindy happened to be the popular girl in the school and had an American boyfriend, Max Johnson. Her mother stopped Cindy from taking part in...

So far, Kentaro’s old flame, the genius techie May Hewitt, stuck out like a sore thumb amidst all the Randa-Shaw Titan shenanigans in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, an issue that was promptly rectified in the seventh episode of the series. Along with a due exploration of May’s past the seventh episode highlighted a rather shocking turn of events, which will make viewers re-assess Shaw and his team of Monarch rebels in a new light.
In the previous episode, the past timeline revealed a unique gamma-ray mimicking device created by Dr. Suzuki, which was used to lure Godzilla into Hateruma, aka ‘Monster Island’—allowing Bill, Keiko, and Shaw another chance to have a close encounter with the king of the monsters. However, Shaw’s growing feelings for Keiko resulted in him temporarily abandoning his post in Monarch, which resulted in a change in leadership as the military of the...

Anna Sawai and Ren Watabe in ‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ episode 7 (Photo Credit: Apple TV+)
Apple TV+’s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters episode seven opens with a creature emerging from the dirt. Check that…it’s not a creature, it’s Tim (Joe Tippett). He survived the helicopter crash without any major noticeable injuries.
Tindouf, Algeria: Cate (Anna Sawai) is trying to work through why her dad was out there. Kentaro (Ren Watabe) is done worrying about his dad, certain Hiroshi just ran away and left them to die at the feet/claws/jaws of Godzilla.
Meanwhile, May (Kiersey Clemons) waits in the airport bathroom to be kidnapped. Yes, kidnapped. By the time Cate checks on her, she’s gone. Her passport and phone have been left behind.
So, where is May? On board a private jet. A flashback to three years prior in Seattle fills in a few of the May blanks.
