Track by Track is a recurring feature series in which artists guide readers through every song on their latest release. Today, Wisp takes us through her new EP, Pandora.
Wisp has quickly risen within the contemporary shoegaze scene by penning satisfying, hazy songs with an expertise that extends far beyond her 19 years. She is already accomplished for such a young age, and her debut EP, Pandora, affirms what was already known — that she is one of the strongest members of the ongoing shoegaze revival. With heavy dream pop influence, her vocals flow through these atmospheric tracks, while the instrumentals remain grounded, rocking, and utterly drowned in sound.

The EP comes in gently, with the title track’s instrumental slowly seeping into listeners’ ears. The song swells into a massive, all-consuming instrumental that is impossible to ignore. It’s easy to see why this is the title track and the opener,...

Wisp, one of our artists to watch in 2024, has announced her debut EP, Pandora, out April 5th via Interscope. What’s more, the buzzing shoegaze artist has also mapped out a US tour and shared the latest single, “Enough for you.”
Spanning six tracks, Pandora includes previously released singles like Wisp’s breakout song, “Your face,” “Once then we’ll be free,” and “See you soon” — all of which are characterized by her ethereal vocals and distorted guitar riffs drawing inspiration from Deftones and Whirr. Pre-orders for Pandora are ongoing. See the artwork and full tracklist below.
“Enough for you” stays in that lane, with lyrics describing feelings of insecurity and shame. “I want to feel like I belong/ In my own skin/ To be enough for you,” Wisp sings. Watch the music video, directed by Sophie Álvarez & Nick Vernet, below.

Buzzing shoegaze revivalist Wisp has released a hazy new single, “See you soon,” demonstrating why she was a no-brainer for our list of artists to watch in 2024.
Featuring swirling, distorted guitars and airy vocals, “See you soon” builds toward a cathartic release in the chorus, as she sings about the sometimes one-sided nature of relationships. Check out the official visualizer, directed by Nick Vernet and Sophia Álverez, below.
In a statement, Wisp shared the meaning behind the song, saying it’s “about being infatuated with a person and wanting to spend all of your time with them, but the resolve at the end of the song represents knowing that person will not last and the feelings on their side aren’t as passionate as yours.”
“See you soon” follows Wisp’s breakout song, “Your Face,” and her most recent single, “Once then we’ll be free,” the latter of which dropped in late October.
