The upcoming live-action adaptation of hit video game franchise Home Sweet Home Rebirth has found its key cast.
Michele Morrone (365 Days, Subservience), William Moseley (The Chronicles of Narnia saga, The Royals), Thai-Norwegian actress and model Urassaya Sperbund (Brother of the Year, Fast And Feel Love), and K-Pop/K-Drama star Alexander Lee (Moorin School: Saga of the Brave, My Korean Jagiya) have joined the feature, now in production in Bangkok, Thailand.
Filmmaking duo Alexander Kiesl and Steffen Hacker are directing the project, with visuals coming from their German visual effects house Unexpected in partnership with Ygg, the Thai VFX/animation/gaming company. Producers are Dean Altit, under his Altit Media Group banner, and Pakin Maliwan, under Thailand-based Film Frame Productions. Tanat Juwiwat and Saroot Tubloy of Ygg, and Kia Jam are executive producing.

Exclusive: Luminosity Entertainment is teaming up with Dean Altit’s Altit Media Group and Kia Jam’s K.Jam Media to finance and co-produce Bot Wars, a sci-fi tentpole film based on the novels of the same name by J.V. Kade, which will be directed by Alexander Kiesl and Steffen Hacker.
The Bot Wars books tell the story of how mankind was brought to the brink of extinction by waging war against Artificial Intelligence and sentient Robots, and how human ingenuity and the primal instinct to survive led to mankind’s ultimate victory. A writer for the film has not yet been attached.
“The world and characters brought to life in J.V. Kade’s novels are tremendously original, thrilling and thought provoking,” said Luminosity’s Daniel Diamond. “We are very excited to be working with Dean and Kia in bringing Alexander and Steffen’s vision of this incredible story to the big screen.

Ingenium is a thriller from Germany. In German, this title is a multi-award winner, with wins in Paris and America. This title, developed by director Steffen Hacker (Bot Warz) and writer Michael Knoll, follows Felicitas after a tragedy in Bangkok. Alone and confused, Felicitas begins to question her reality, when she returns home. Ingenium stars: Esther Maab (Bunker of the Dead), Judith Hoersch, Adrian Topol and Jan Yousagoon. The film's U.S. trailer is here, along with an early banner. In Paris, the film won a Best Actress award for lead Esther Maab. As well, Ingenium won a Science Fiction Feature award, at the Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival. This feature has won close to a dozen awards, at various film festivals. "I need your help finding my dad." Here's something cool to add some oomph to your day - a short proof-of-concept video for a futuristic, sci-fi, robot action project called BotWars, from Alex & Steffen. The title at the end says "J.V. Kade's" BotWars referencing the novel it's based on, but this is actually a production by Alex Kiesl and Steffen Hacker, two German guys, with a number of talented VFX artists out of Germany making this look great. I was sent the video by another guy in VFX, who said he's "amazed at what these guys have achieved. Lovely use of new tech too with the flying cam," too. Check this out - I'd see the movie. While the premise for Jv Kade's young adult scifi novel Bot Wars is nothing particularly original - the premise of robotic helpers gaining consciousness and rebelling for more rights lifts liberally from I, Robot and The Terminator making several other stops along the way - but these things are all about the execution and knowing your target audience and so it has proved rather popular. Which no doubt has a little something to do with how it crossed the paths of young filmmakers Steffen Hacker and Alexander Kiesl who have put together a very impressive proof of concept reel for a proposed feature adaptation.The full proof of concept video reportedly runs around five minutes and while that long reel is not yet available online they...
