When Mark Harmon left NCIS, it seemed to be a role no one could replace. However, the show brought in Gary Cole to be the new team leader and he seemed to slip into the role perfectly. However, Cole said things were not going to be easy for Alden Parker with his new team.
Here is what Cole had to say about replacing Mark Harmon.
Gary Cole On Replacing Mark Harmon On NCIS
Gary Cole was a good choice to replace Mark Harmon on NCIS. While the long-running, popular procedural has seen characters come and go, Mark Harmon’s Jethro Leroy Gibbs seemed irreplaceable. However, the show made good on replacing him when they signed Gary Cole to take on the role of Alden Parker.
This change in leadership for the NCIS team came in 2021 when Harmon left the show and stepped aside for a new person to take over the team leader role.

Almost two years after Joseph Gatt was arrested by the LAPD on now-dismissed charges of engaging in “online sexually explicit communication with a minor across state lines,” the Game of Thrones actor is taking on the police, the city of Los Angeles and the office of District Attorney George Gascón.
In a $40 million suit filed Thursday in federal court in Los Angeles (read it here), Gatt alleges he was falsely labeled as serial pedophile. To that end, he and his attorneys have put before the court a sordid saga of a 16-year-old “obsessed fan,” a botched police probe, and a now former Deputy L.A. D.A. with a supposed “personal animosity” against the actor.
The violation of constitutional rights complaint, which comes six weeks after an L.A. judge tossed out the felony case against Gatt “without prejudice” on the advice of the prosecution, reads like an louche thriller that...

The new episode of Chicago P.D. returned viewers to the undercover operation Dante Torres has been working on.
It was revealed that Torres had been undercover for 36 days when the episode began. He was trying to take down the Rafael Perez drug ring (played by Julio Cesar Cedillo).
Torres was already getting too deep and had been sleeping with his informant. Actress Yara Martinez was back to continue her role as Gloria Perez (wife of the drug boss).
Rather than getting closer to answers, Torres had been relegated to working as a mechanic for the drug ring. But since the episode was focusing on him, it was clear something was about to happen.
The worse Perez treated Gloria, the more time she wanted to spend with Torres. It led to even more complications with the case.
Meanwhile, Torres spotted that a cousin to Perez was who he was leaning on...

Well, that was an action-packed finale!
Finally, most of the town is in on the alien joke, and the story is the better for it.
We could have spent a lot of time goofing around with Harry being a dufus in Patience, but Resident Alien Season 3 Episode 8 set him and everyone up for a crazy story expansion for a potential fourth season.
While Resident Alien hasn't been renewed yet, with word of mouth and excellent storytelling, it has to return.
Syfy hasn't had a hit this big in years, and it's not easy to build a show of this magnitude or keep up its momentum. They have done that excellently here.
The season finale didn't waste any time. There were very few normal Patience happenings, with the exception of Sheriff Mike and Deputy Liv, who will never stop bickering (and we hope they never do!).
Cletus joined their task force,...

Is that really the last we've seen of Gloria Perez?
With Chicago Pd Season 11 Episode 9's open-ending, there's always the chance that she'll pop back up again sometime down the road, and if she does, it's hard to know what to think about her and Torres' future together.
After all, could she really be free of everything, or would she take over for her husband instead?
She mentioned that she was sticking around Chicago, and she's a character who moved in silence and did her fair share of shady things, so I put nothing past the woman.
But almost jeopardized Dante Torres' career and life during this installment, and he was too stupid for her to realize how he nearly lost it all.
We spent the entire hour hearing about how Torres and Gloria were one and the same, two sides of the same coin and had this deep connection.

Let's give points for this attempt to be topical.
Both artificial intelligence and UAPs (unidentified aerial phenomenon) were at the heart of NCIS Season 21 Episode 6.
But some series show that "the truth is out there" better than others. Again, let's give credit for the effort.
Of course, much of the team was skeptical of where the evidence pointed them.
Vance, Parker, Nick, and Jessica just weren't going to imagine the possibilities.
However, McGee, Jimmy, and Kasie were true believers and should have been more excited about what they might be experiencing.
No, instead, the team had to keep digging for a more earthbound answer. This isn't The X-Files, after all.
They quickly exceeded the limit for Uap versus UFO (unidentified flying object) jokes. Those never get old.
But indeed, the investigation could have been done with a little less eye-rolling, couldn't it?
The one thing everyone agreed on was that aliens didn't kill Greene,...

Disney has been sued for allegedly underpaying maintenance workers at its Southern California hotels near its sprawling theme park, on top of a host of other alleged violations of labor laws.
The lawsuit, filed in Orange County Superior Court on Thursday, claims workers were forced to pay for their own tools while not being paid the required double minimum wage and correct overtime rate. The proposed class action seeks at least $1 million in back pay.
The complaint was filed amid a growing cost of living and poverty crisis that has afflicted workers employed by major companies in the entertainment industry. A UCLA Labor Center study of Universal Studios Hollywood theme park employees found widespread poverty, with 44 percent of workers reporting that they worried about being evicted from their homes and more than half cutting the size of their meals — or skipping them altogether — because they do not have enough money for food.

Torres is Alejandro, a nebbishy immigrant from El Salvador in New York City. He is there for one goal … to become a toy designer for Hasbro. While going through the application process, he works for a cryogenic company, maintaining the frozen body of Bobby (portrayed by the rapper Rizza). Bobby’s wife Elizabeth (Tilda Swinton), a prominent art critic, needs to sell Bobby’s paintings to pay for his frozen state. When Alejandro needs a sponsor to extend his visa, and Elizabeth needs an assistant to help mount a show, a new odd couple is born.

When Tilda Swinton first got the script for Problemista, she wasn’t sure what to make of the character Elizabeth, who the film’s writer-director-star Julio Torres was hoping she would play. Set in New York City, Problemista tells the story of Alejandro, a Salvadorian immigrant who is desperately navigating the brutal bureaucracy of the U.S. immigration system so he can pursue his dream of becoming a toy designer at Hasbro.

And Tilda, oh boy, she’s not just an actress; she’s a shape-shifting enigma wrapped in a riddle, with a touch of otherworldly grace. Now, why did Torres think Swinton was the only one who could nail his latest fever dream of a project? Buckle up, buttercup, we’re about...

Problemista. As a former Saturday Night Live writer, co-creator of the bilingual HBO cult favorite Los Espookys, and government-certified “alien of extraordinary ability,” Julio Torres has been preoccupied with the secret life of objects: the existential dilemmas that plague baubles and trinkets divorced from their original purpose. In Problemista (2024), Torres’s debut feature, the efficacy of form and function, as it applies to the predominant social order and the flimsy structures that reinforce it, is up for constant reconsideration. Through fabulist vignettes and an iridescent array of signs and symbols, the film offers a buoyant critique of institutional frameworks, especially the Kafkaesque bureaucracy of the American immigration system, but also the avarice of corporate banks and the innumerable hypocrisies of the art world. Contributing a singular perspective to the discourse surrounding “the queer art of failure,” Torres views conventional notions of utility with puckish skepticism and advocates for a deliberate...

After premiering at SXSW in March 2023 (where we gave the film a glowing review), Julio Torres’s feature debut, Problemista, is finally coming out in theaters after delays due to the WGA and SAG strikes.
Written, directed by, and starring the former SNL writer and Los Espookys creator, the A24 comedy follows an immigrant struggling to get by in New York City with dreams of becoming a toymaker as he takes a job as an assistant to an eccentric widow of an artist (played incredibly by Tilda Swinton).

Fillion has been a part of some of television’s most critically praised shows. Before The Rookie, he was known for playing millionaire author Richard Castle in the titular series Castle. Many of Fillion’s former Castle co-stars have made small appearances on The Rookie, from Jon Huertas to Tamala Jones.

It’s immediately evident that Problemista, the new feature from A24, certainly comes from the mind of Julio Torres, the writer and comedian who brought his surreal ideas to Saturday Night Live and the HBO series about horror lovers, Los Espookys. But unlike most of his other work, Problemista gets personal.
Problemista — which Torres wrote, directed and stars in — follows Alejandro, who, like Torres did at one point, needs a visa sponsorship to stay in the United States rather than returning home to El Salvador. Alejandro is desperate to work at Hasbro, but they never respond to his applications containing beautifully bizarre ideas for toys that are more philosophical than practical. (Think: Torres’ beloved SNL sketch “Wells for Boys.”) Instead, he works at a cryonics center where humans are frozen, with the idea that they will be brought back to life in the future. Nearly a year since it premiered at SXSW, Julio Torres’ “Problemista” finally had its New York City premiere at the Village East by Angelika on Tuesday, February 27. His A24 satire stars Tilda Swinton, Isabella Rossellini, James Scully, Greta Lee, and RZA, to name a few. On the red carpet, producer Emma Stone, alongside fellow producers Dave McCary and Ali Herting, even made a surprise appearance.
“She was very happy to do it,” Julio Torres said of getting Tilda Swinton involved as his co-lead. “She was a little worried about playing an American, then we talked and she didn’t have to be American. She found this creature, we don’t know where she came from. Like a dragon, she emerged from a cave.”
Tilda Swinton was visibly very excited to be in Manhattan in support of this project. “Julio sent me [the script] and asked me to come play with him,” the Oscar winner said.

Julio Torres’ whimsical comedy shows promise in its portrayal of the Kafka-esque maze of the US immigration system, but his ideas don’t always come together
As testified by numerous documentaries, many journalistic investigations and countless lived experiences, the United States immigration system is a purgatorial, deliberately confusing, dehumanizing hell. Getting here, let alone staying here, can be a confounding maze of dead-ends and Kafka-esque double binds, an impossible staircase of bureaucracy. The metaphors come easy; the system lends itself well to magical realism, as poignantly realized in the new A24 film Problemista, in which immigration is a literal maze of drab cubicles, an hourglass counts down one’s days till deportation, and applicants are physically disappeared by a bland visa denials.

You will probably laugh the first time Alejandro (Julio Torres) walks though the frame in Problemista, seemingly bouncing off the ground before gliding across it, almost as if he were walking on eggshells—or paintings of them. (More on those in a bit.) Which makes sense, given that this aspiring toy designer from El Salvador who’s looking for a co-signer for his visa so that he can remain in the United States is very wary of angering the powers that be who are holding him back from his dreams in both visible and invisible ways.

American legal TV series Suits, which originally aired on the USA Network from 2011-2019, was back in demand last year. Thanks to its availability on Netflix, it became the most-watched streaming TV show last year. A new pilot of the show was ordered late last year, and so it is already in development.

Rapper Roddy Ricch is the victor in a legal battle that claimed his highest-charting megahit “The Box” infringed on the copyright of a 1975 soul song titled “Come on Down.” In a biting ruling, a Manhattan-based federal judge found that “no reasonable jury could find that the works are substantially similar.”
“The (plaintiff’s) musical composition is a soul song that contains a melodic tune, while ‘The Box’ is a hip-hop song delivered in a monotone rap,” U.S. District Judge Analisa Torres wrote in her eight-page ruling obtained by Rolling Stone.

Thanks to its success on Netflix, Suits has staged quite a comeback years after its conclusion on USA Network.
While fans have been calling for the legal drama’s return, we’re getting the next best thing.
NBC recently placed a pilot order for Suits: L.A., a new series set in the same world as Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres).
It seems like the network is fast-tracking the series because we learned today that Stephen Amell has been set as its lead.
The next chapter in the Suits universe finds the Arrow alum playing Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York, who has switched things up by representing some of the most influential people in Los Angeles.
The series starts with his firm on the brink of collapse, and he’s forced to take big risks to survive and thrive.

The NCIS writers used a familiar trope to introduce a new character on Monday night.
FBI Agent Rose began the new episode as an adversary to the NCIS team, much like how former FBI Agent Alden Parker was situated when he was first introduced.
Parker was tasked with tracking down and arresting Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon). Rose was tasked with proving the guilt of Agent Nick Torres in a murder case.
Parker eventually saw that Gibbs and how he did his job was necessary. He turned from being an adversary to becoming an integral part of NCIS.
Rose began NCIS Season 21, Episode 1, as someone at odds with the NCIS team, but by the end of the hour, she was helping them out.
In the final moments of the season premiere, Rose followed Parker to NCIS, taking on a new job for Director Vance (Rocky Carroll).
Who plays Agent Rose on the NCIS cast?...

NCIS finally returned from hiatus with its Season 21 premiere on Monday night.
The new episode focused on Agent Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) and a man who had abused his family.
Actress Johanna Cure was also there to play Nick’s sister, Aida Torres. Each character was accused of murder, and they looked guilty as they tried to protect each other.
Nick and Aida were cleared before the hour was up, thanks to the help of former FBI Agent Rose (Kim Matula).
But the final moments of Season 21, Episode 1, had fans buzzing on social media.
As many NCIS fans have learned, some sad news will soon descend upon the hit CBS drama.
What was that phone call on the NCIS season premiere?

Welcome back to the big orange room! While it was nice to get more of Torres' backstory, NCIS Season 21 Episode 1 felt a little bit of a backslide for Nick.
He got sober and was in a really good place after all of his sessions with Dr. Grace during NCIS Season 20.
He managed to get past his pain when Bishop and then Gibbs left. This felt like we were revisiting the old Nick.
But hopefully, this is a temporary setback, and with Riva gone, Nick can finally heal. It was terrific to meet his sister.
The actresses who played young Lucia and current Lucia were perfectly cast; they really looked similar -- nicely done casting people!
But the biggest shock of the episode was the lack of the elevator ding.
I count on hearing that ding every episode, and this is the first in my memory without it. I hope...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the NCIS Season 21 premiere “Algún Día.”] Is Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama) a murderer? Well, as NCIS shows us in the Season 21 premiere, he would be somewhat justified, given that the man who ends up dead, Maurice Riva (Al Sapienza), made his and his family’s lives a nightmare when they were growing up. But as the episode goes on, it becomes clear that he’s not the one responsible, though he’s protecting the person he thinks is his sister. After all, “someday” was what they’d said as kids … which is why he doesn’t even want her to be his lawyer. And so that’s why TV Insider had to bring in Wilmer Valderrama for our first weekly NCIS aftershow for the CBS drama, NCIS: Case Closed, with our Kate Hahn. “I had this crazy idea that we should send Torres to prison,” Valderrama reveals of the Season 20 finale.

CBS’ NCIS with its Season 21 premiere on Monday night, yes, threatened to send Special Agent Nick Torres to prison for murder. But it also, with its last moments, planted the seed for what promises to be one of the long-running drama’s most emotional storylines.
On the Torres front: When last we tuned in, Nick following an undercover op in prison was laying in wait inside the home of Maurice Riva, the man who decades prior terrorized his mother and family. Season 21 opened with the reveal that Riva had been found killed, and the voicemail that Nick had left for...

Here lies Thomas Eugene Paris, beloved mutant. That’s what Trekkies think about every Jan. 29, known among some as “Threshold Day,” commemorating the 1996 airing of the Star Trek: Voyager season two episode “Threshold.” Threshold Day consists mostly of memes and jokes, poking fun at what most consider one of the series’ worst episodes, if not one of the most embarrassing Star Trek episodes of all time.
While it is certainly corny, “Threshold” doesn’t quite deserve its ignoble reputation. Not only is it far from the worst episode of Voyager (Chakotay’s ancestors’ bones play no part in the story), but it contains a lot of qualities found in the best Star Trek episodes. Is that enough to elevate “Threshold” to the upper Trek tiers? No, but it is enough to give the episode a better reputation than the one it has now.

Agent Nicholas Torres joined NCIS on Season 14 of the hit show.
The character came on to replace (very) Special Agent Anthony Dinozzo.
Actor Michael Weatherly had played Tony for years but was ready to try new things.
Enter Wilmer Valderrama, who was a risky choice by the NCIS brass after his years of playing Fez on That ’70s Show.
The risk paid off because Valderrma has been great as Torres, even from the first moment he was on the screen as Torres in Season 14, Episode 1.
Torres has been through much drama on the show, leading fans to ask if he is about to leave NCIS. Here’s what we know.

So that was quite the experience.
It's not about the type of boat, but the motion in the ocean, and our boy Ocean was certainly getting those moves in by the end of Chicago Pd Season 11 Episode 4.
Before we unpack Dante Torres tacking a stab, um, falling into, wait, partaking in a storyline that feels eerily reminiscent of not one but Two of his Intelligence mentors, can we just celebrate his return?
We haven't had the pleasure of Torres gracing our scenes since Chicago Pd season 10 Episode 21).
And he was Missed.
We dove into (you know what? Ahem) a Torres-centric with some fascinating elements that aligned quite well with this more personalized and intimate tone that the season delivers thus far with our primary characters.

The ending of this hour was seasons in the making.
Somehow, Chicago Pd Season 11 Episode 3 was nothing like one would've envisioned from the promos, and there's a lot to parse through regarding the case and mixed feelings about it.
But they threw such a momentous occasion at us in those final moments that it's likely all anyone will be talking about for the rest of the season.
It seems Chicago Pd isn't completely dark and loveless after all.
Upstead has crumbled before our eyes after riding a high, and now Burzek has reached new heights in the most deceptively understated, quietly stable way.
The hour was a bit misleading, but continuing with the pattern of providing us with character-centric installments, this one foisted Kim Burgess into the spotlight.
And she took the lead brilliantly and beautifully the entire time.
Gabriela, I will never accept that there's such a thing as an illegal human being.

So he had to put everything on pause to focus on that. And thankfully she’s doing better.” But as soon as he returns, he ends up going undercover in a tense and high-stakes drug trafficking case. “It’s one of those things that he knows he’s the right man for the job because of the way he grew up,...

His absence was glaring, especially since the team still misses Detective Jay Halstead (played by Jesse Lee Soffer).
Actor Benjamin Levy Aguilar joined the Chicago P.D. cast while Halstead was still around, but he became integral in Halstead’s absence during Season 10.
Chicago P.D. Season 11 began without Torres, as the writers focused on other characters to carry the stories.

NBC has given a pilot order to Suits: L.A. from Aaron Korsh, the creator and writer of the original series, which is set to begin production in late March in Vancouver. As Deadline revealed exclusively on Thursday, Victoria Mahoney will direct and executive produce the offshoot.
Suits: L.A. would not be a reboot or revival but more like a new chapter in the vein of the CSI and NCIS franchises featuring new characters in a new location.
According to the project’s logline, Suits: L.A. is centered on Ted Black, a former federal prosecutor from New York, who has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. His firm is at a crisis point, and to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career.
