"We can try a billion songs," says Matt Bettinelli-Olpin — co-director with Tyler Gillett of upcoming ballerina vampire movie "Abigail" — but when they hit on the perfect track, "We go, 'Oh f**k, that's the song. That's great. It hits all the notes."
Sometimes the right song isn't out there yet, and the movie calls for a new one to be written from scratch. When the directing duo needed an old-timey "Hide and Seek" tune with a Vincent Price-esque narrator for their 2019 horror-comedy "Ready or Not," they couldn't find one — so they asked "Southbound" composers Louis Castle and James Bairian (known collectively as The Gifted) to write something original. Last year's "Scream VI...

There’s Something Wrong with the Children opens to the bombastically ominous strains of The Sisters of Mercy’s “More” playing over tinted footage of children running and a storm rolling in. After some brief, inconsequential dialogue the film’s title flashes on the screen in bright green letters. It’s a wonderfully retro note to start things off on.
Ben and Margaret are on vacation with their friends Ellie, Thomas and their kids Spencer (David Mattle; Life & Beth) and Lucy.
A hike in the woods reveals the remains of a building not on the map, and exploring the building reveals a seemingly bottomless pit that the children insist has a light glowing in it. That should be their cue to pack the cars and go home,...

Amazon’s highly-anticipated shooter Crucible is part of the company’s plan to expand further into the world of video gaming (which includes their upcoming video game streaming service).
If the name Crucible rings a bell, that’s because Amazon announced the game back in 2016 during a Twitch event. They didn’t share many details regarding the title at that time and, according to Amazon representatives, quite a lot has changed since then.
“It’s the active involvement of hundreds and hundreds of people over very long periods of time that gets to a great product,” says Louis Castle, a member of Amazon’s Relentless game studio, regarding the game’s prolonged development. “Thankfully, we’re with a company that has the resources to let this new team fully gel and get a great expression out there.”
Crucible will be a competitive online shooter that currently emphasizes class elements and abilities.
