HBO viewers, your return flight to Westeros has been booked!
“House of the Dragon,” the prequel series to “Game of Thrones” based on material plucked from George R.R. Martin’s book “Fire & Blood,” will swoop back onto the cable and streaming platform in June. This raven of information was sent by Warner Bros. Discovery’s head of streaming and gaming, J.B. Perrette, during Morgan Stanley’s Technology, Media and Telecom conference on Monday. I don’t know about you, but when I want to reach the core audience of Warhammer-playing fantasy enthusiasts who can quickly break down the spellcasting abilities of a Druid versus a Tiefling, I always hit Morgan Stanley’s Technology, Media and Telecom conference.
The “House of the Dragon” debut episode in August 2022 was the highest-viewed HBO program in company history within 24 hours of availability, at 9.99 million. (So close to 10!) The series received eight Creative Arts Emmy nominations,...

As one of the largest RPGs ever made, Baldur’s Gate 3 is also one of the most intimidating. Even creating your character can easily consume hours of your life. Of course, few character creation choices are more important than your race and class.
Like many Dungeons and Dragons-based games, your choice of race and class in Baldur’s Gate 3 will ultimately determine a number of your strengths, weaknesses, and how you play the game. Unlike a lot of D&d-based games, Baldur’s Gate 3 is surprisingly generous when it comes to your race/class combos and respeccing options. Nearly any race in the game can eventually be viable in nearly any class role in the game. As such, you can’t go wrong with picking the combo that sounds most appealing to you.
That said, there are some race/class combos that offer at least slight advantages over others.

In a move designed to give a boost to comic book sellers, Missoula, Montana-based Vault is making the first issue of its upcoming comic Unnatural Order free to retailers.
Unnatural Order is a chance for the growing indie publisher to break out of the pack, as the comic is expected to be one of the hot titles this fall, marking the first comics work by writer Christopher Yost in almost 10 years. Yost was a big-name Marvel comics author (he co-created X-23, who appeared in Logan) and Marvel animation scribe before diving into the feature film and TV world, co-writing Thor: Ragnarok and writing on The Mandalorian, among other high-profile projects.
Vault’s move comes as comic publishers and retailers face some strong headwinds in the marketplace after enjoying a couple of years of strong sales. According to several sources, sales for most comic publishers and retailers had been rising until...

With early buzz on Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves suggesting it could be a crossover hit, Paramount has initiated the launch of a new app that will let die-hards and rookies alike immerse themselves in the franchise, almost literally, creating an avatar based around their favorite Dungeons & Dragons characters.
Paramount has teamed with Lightricks (the company behind Facetune and Photoleap) for an app which will “let fans create images of themselves as their favorite DnD characters to share or post on their social platforms…These Dungeon and Dragons avatars let fans join in the fun and build characters that immerse them deeper into their game experience.” Through the process, fans can download the Photoleap app, upload 10-20 pictures of themselves and within minutes they’ll have a custom avatar. That’s a heck of a lot less effort than going through an entire campaign!
