Thursday’s episode of How to Get Away With Murder is titled “I’m the Murderer” — but if you thought that meant we’d get clarity on whatever’s happening in those ominous flash-forwards, you would be mistaken. If anything, the horror that will unfold at Middleton in a few months just got more confusing, now that someone in Annalise’s circle has (potentially) confessed to being a killer.

Cicely Tyson got away with her fourth Best Drama Guest Actress Emmy Award nomination for playing Annalise Keating’s (Viola Davis) mother, Ophelia Harkness, on the fifth season of “How to Get Away With Murder.” With the exception of the second season she’s been nominated for each year of the show, yet she has yet to take home the Emmy statuette for the ABC legal thriller. Will she finally prevail on her fourth go-around, now that “Murder” itself nabbed its most-ever bids for a single season?

Through four seasons, ABC’s “How to Get Away With Murder” has produced six Emmy nominations — all for acting, for Viola Davis and Cicely Tyson. But it’s high time for another “Murder” vet, Liza Weil, to break through at the Emmys, after giving yet another powerful performance this season. Can Weil finally get away with a bid, just like her character has, well, gotten away with murder?
Spoiler alert for Season 5!
Since the show’s inception, we’ve witnessed Bonnie (Weil) go through tough times, and this season unsurprisingly put her through the wringer yet again. The season starts out well for her: back-and-forth text messages with her boyfriend Ronald Miller (John Hensley), dinner with Annalise (Davis), and yes, even a beaming smile on her face. That quickly changes when she is, once again, forced to face her traumatic past and comes face to face with her long-estranged sister.

The season finale of ABC’s How To Get Away With Murder had a central question swirling among fans: would anyone die?
The answer arrived late in the episode, titled Please Say No One Else Is Dead, closing out season five of the series with enough twists, surprises and cliffhangers to indicate it’s highly likely there will be a season six, even though no official word on a renewal has been given.
*** Spoiler Alert: If you have not seen the finale of season five, don’t read beyond this point. ***
To get right to the central question, it appears that Caplan & Gold managing partner Emmett Crawford (Timothy Hutton) is the episode’s designated victim of foul play. Crawford is about to have a drink with Tegan (Amirah Vann), who already suspects him in the death of Nate Sr. and is pretending to be interested in him in order to get to the truth.

The following post contains spoilers for How to Get Away With Murder‘s Season 5 finale. (Need to catch up? Read our previous episode recap here.)
What a difference a year makes.
When How to Get Away With Murder‘s fourth season came to a close last March, Laurel Castillo’s father had been thrown in jail, her mother had gone off the grid, for better or worse, and life at Middleton University seemed to resume some version of normalcy (except for the lingering mystery of Gabriel Maddox, that is).
But during Thursday’s fifth season finale, the Castillo family made a comeback of sorts,...

Ron W. Miller, Walt Disney’s son-in-law and the husband of Diane Disney, passed away February 9, 2019, in Napa, California. He was 85.
Miller was 21 and a member of the USC Trojans football team when he was introduced to then-20-year-old Diane Disney on a blind date. They were married in Santa Barbara on May 9, 1954. Ron served in the Army and played football for the Los Angeles Rams before his father-in-law recruited him to work at The Walt Disney Studios in 1957. Miller’s first job was serving as second assistant on Old Yeller (1957). Eventually, as CEO, Miller pushed the Company to expand and explore, creating Walt Disney Home Video, Touchstone Pictures, and The Disney Channel.
“Everyone at The Walt Disney Company is deeply saddened by the passing of Ron Miller,” said Bob Iger, chairman and chief executive officer, The Walt Disney Company. “His life and legacy are inextricably linked with our Company...

Ron Miller, former Disney CEO and son-in-law of Walt Disney, died Saturday in Napa, Calif. at the age of 85.
Miller served as president and later CEO of Disney from 1978 to 1984, during a rocky period for the company. He was president of the board of directors of the Walt Disney Family Museum and owner of Napa’s Silverado Vineyards.
“Everyone at The Walt Disney Company is deeply saddened by the passing of Ron Miller. His life and legacy are inextricably linked with our Company and the Disney family because he was such a vital part of both, as our CEO and Walt’s son-in-law,” said Disney chairman-ceo Bob Iger in a statement. “Few people had Ron’s understanding of our history, or a deeper appreciation and respect for our company, and he shared it generously with anyone who wanted to know more. Let’s hope Annalise Keating isn’t claustrophobic. Whether she likes it or not, the walls are beginning to close in on her.
After Thursday’s high-stakes episode, only three installments remain in How to Get Away With Murder‘s fifth season, which means it’s time for Annalise — and pretty much everyone in her social circle — to get very concerned about going to jail. Sure, Annalise and her students managed to avoid jail time in this episode. But with the FBI growing more and more suspicious of Ms.

The next time you’re having a terrible day, here’s something to keep in mind: You’ve probably got it better than How to Get Away With Murder‘s Bonnie Winterbottom.
In Thursday’s episode of the ABC drama, poor Bonnie was left to grapple with the fact that Miller may have had nothing to do with Nate Sr.’s death, after all — a revelation that, quite literally, almost killed her. And she wasn’t the only one left reeling in the wake of that news: Nate also experienced a bit of a downward spiral as he tried to...

In its November fall finale, How to Get Away With Murder answered two very big questions…and left plenty of loose threads hanging in the meantime.
As satisfying as it was to learn who died on Connor and Oliver’s wedding night (R.I.P., Ronald Miller!), and to discover who Gabriel Maddox really is (Sam Keating’s son, gasp!), there are still plenty of storylines that have yet to be resolved.
At the risk of getting greedy, we’ve rounded up eight burning questions we’d like to see answered when Season 5 resumes. Though several of them relate to the ongoing Gabriel mystery — seriously,...

Wow. Where the heck are we going to go from here?
How to Get Away with Murder Season 5 Episode 8 was an entertaining midseason finale giving us a body and a culprit. And we even got an answer to the biggest mystery of all, the identity of Gabriel Maddox.
Yet, when ranked amongst past big reveal episodes, I'm not so sure how this one ranks. We got nearly everything we wanted, so what mysteries do we have left to solve?
Well, not many it would seem. As much as I was clamoring for answers, and make no mistake I was clamoring, having all the answers now feels a bit lackluster. I would have been okay finding out the identity of the person in the snow and saving the killer reveal for later in the season.
But that's not what we got. Instead, we got the whole shebang!
That's not to say...

There’s a whole slew of How to Get Away With Murder characters who are weighed down with daddy issues. Asher? Yep. Laurel? For sure. Bonnie? Yes, yes, a thousand times yes.
But on Thursday’s episode of the ABC drama, it was Nate’s dad who became everyone’s issue, as Annalise and her clinic students began their fight to get Nate Lahey, Sr.’s conviction overturned. And that wasn’t the only family drama included in the hour — because, well, is it ever?...

Class is officially back in session for Middleton University’s law students. And the start of a new school year means another grisly incident is right around the corner — at least, that’s how it works on How to Get Away With Murder.
Murder returned for its fifth season on Thursday night, and you wouldn’t be blamed for mistaking the premiere for a Season 1 episode. After all, it had all the elements of the show’s early days, like Annalise announcing a class-wide competition for her students… or, y’know, someone dying at a party.
