Jay Gruden Gets Washington Redskins Job
By taking the job, Gruden has become the eighth Redskins coach during the 15 years that Dan Snyder has served as the franchise’s owner. Their last coach, Mike Shanahan, picked up 40 losses over his four years at the helm, finishing the 2011 season with a 3-13 record. Gruden acknowledged that he’ll have his hands full with the team that finished dead last in the Nfc East.
“There’s a lot of work to do,” Gruden said. “When you’re 3-13, there’s not one particular player or reason. There’s a lot of reasons and a lot of things that need to be fixed, no question.”
“I will do my best to make sure that I put a competitive...

Up-and-coming bands like Shinedown are helping Warner Music Group pull off the hardest trick in the music biz: redefining the record label for the digital age.
On a chilly night in Manhattan, Julie Greenwald is steamed. "I hate free! Why should people get music for free?" says the 40-year-old spitfire COO of Atlantic Records, one of two major labels of Warner Music Group, and the first big label with more U.S. music revenue from digital downloads than physical discs. She's in the VIP room backstage at the Nokia Theatre, where Atlantic rock act Shinedown headlines a sold-out show. "Music isn't free!" she says.

The aliens from Sony's "District 9" scored big during The Hollywood Reporter's 39th annual Key Art Awards.
Honoring the best in movie marketing, Friday's event at Vibiana in downtown Los Angeles saw "District 9" take home 11 awards, including the best-in-show prize for its integrating marketing campaigning as well as three other best-in-show laurels for its outdoor advertising (built around its "Bus Stop for Humans Bus Shelter"), TV spots and digital campaign.
The awards ceremony culminated with Sylvester Stallone receiving the Visionary Award, given annually to a filmmaker who inspires movie marketers.
"At the end of the day, there is no question that Sylvester Stallone delivers great product," THR publisher Lori Burgess said before calling Stallone to the candlelit stage at what once was the altar of the former St. Vibiana Roman Catholic cathedral, which has been converted to a party space. "He's put his stamp on film like very few people of his generation.

01/06/2010:
The Washington Redskins season ended on Sunday night after a 4th quater loss to the San Diego Chargers 23 to 20 in a season filled with injuries and last minute losses. On Monday morning, new General Manager Bruce Allen fired Jim Zorn after a 4-12 season. Zorn was coach of the Redskins for the last two years with a great start his first season, but the 2nd half of 2008 season and all of 2009 season the team struggled to win games. He was hired by owner Dan Snyder back in January 2008 as a offensive coordinator but later was named the team's head coach. Now the team has hired former Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan as the 28th head coach of the Washington Redskins. Mike will be seventh head coach hired by Snyder since he bought the team in 1999.
