The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is back on Oct. 25 with a brand new season. However, there will be a couple of missing faces this time. Two of last season’s housewives won’t be returning. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars Lisa Rinna, who joined as a main cast member in season 5, and Diana Jenkins, who became a housewife in season 12, have stepped away from the show.
Why did Lisa Rinna leave ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’
Rinna spent eight seasons on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. While season 12 was not kind to the former soap opera star, fans of the reality series were still shocked that she opted to walk away from the show entirely. Recently, she shared some insight into what exactly factored into her decision.

The 74th Annual Emmys are in full swing, and while the ceremony is being steered by host Kenan Thompson (Saturday Night Live), he has some help in keeping the night moving. Along with DJ Zedd, the 2022 Emmys are being brought to life with the help of announcer Sam Jay, whose role is to make the ceremony lively with fun facts and exciting introductions of presenters during TV’s biggest night. And while Thompson may be familiar to viewers as SNL‘s longest-running cast member, the slightly less recognizable Jay also hails from the NBC comedy sketch show. (Credit: Isabella Vosmikova/Peacock) The comedian served as a writer on the long-running series from 2018 through 2021, writing episodes for hosts ranging from Timothée Chalamet and John Mulaney to Donald Glover, among others. Her other television writing credits include That Damn Michael Che, Bust Down, and her HBO Max series, Pause with Sam Jay.

Icons come and icons go, but few of them linger as long as L.A. glam-oddity Angelyne. A Southern California staple during most of the ’80s, the buxom, buffonted blonde starlet stared down at Los Angelenos from massive billboards and turned heads on the street with her hot pink wheels, leaving everyone to wonder who the hell she really was. Unlike the modern Tmi influencers she’s, well, influenced, Angelyne was rigidly secretive and socially elusive, a unicorn by way of camp filmmaker Russ Meyers. Everyone knew about her, but nobody seemed to actually to know her. Hell, we still don’t know much about her! “That, I found so fascinating,” agreed Shameless alum Emmy Rossum during our recent chat. Legitimately unrecognizable as the pop-culture creation at the center of Peacock‘s terrifically engaging mini-series, Rossum found her role as the bombshell just as intriguing. “How can you be so famous and yet so unknown?...

Warning: Major spoilers ahead for “Barry” Seasons 1 and 2
We last saw Barry Berkman in the midst of a rage blackout, gunning down criminals in pursuit of the man who betrayed his most terrible secret.
If the details are a little hazy, that might be because it’s been three years since the Emmy-winning series “Barry” was on air. Co-created by Alec Berg and Bill Hader – who also wrote and directed several episodes – the dramedy chronicles the life of Barry (Hader), a depressed veteran and hitman who discovers a passion for acting when he takes a class to get eyes on his latest mark. But extricating himself from the criminal world is harder than he realized, and the deeper he gets invested in his new life, the more complicated burying his past becomes.

A couple of Fox‘s big shows, mainly Bones and Fringe, have outstayed their welcome really, but Bones is at least trying to provide some more entertainment for its fans, sort of. Billed to some extent as a spin-off, despite having no justifiable claim to the idea, The Finder may nevertheless turn into a hit based on some theory we might connect to the general idea of spin-offs.
Generally speaking, having a show put together already, and then having characters from that show guest star on an already existing show does not magically turn the new show into a spin-off. However, there is something about The Finder that works as a kind of perspective spin-off. Much like Bones during its first couple of seasons, The Finder is in the category of “hopefully crazy enough to work.” Pieced together with elements that connect it to the general crime drama, but centered...

I hope you're all ready for tomorrow's premiere of New Girl at 9/8 Central on Fox. If you need more info, catch the review here. Zooey Deschanel was on a press call recently that I got to take part in, and if her ability to charm a group of interviewers is any judge, the show just might make quite a splash.
Really, make sure you tune in. The interview was rather interesting, and something about the subject of the show, mixed with Deschanel own character and persona, made this a rather unique experience. Among other things, you'll find out her thoughts on her own "adorkability," a word the show has attached to her character, Jess.
So, in your estimation, do you think it’s better to be the “it” girl, or to sort of fly under the radar? How do you like being the center of everyone’s entertainment world these days?...

Fox's new comedy, New Girl, is a dangerous enterprise, and it isn't helped by the fact that the line-up is going to change right after the pilot. It's dangerous, because it's a very particular brand of comedy, and one that is hard to categorize without using the word "silly." That may or may not make for a successful show, but it's a trickier gamble than most comedy offerings. At least, today.
There was a time when silly was all but the name of the game, and whether it was Ted Baxter, or Jack Tripper, the key descriptor of most comedy characters on television was "goofy." That's not today's game, for good or ill, and the shows that make it are largely after quotes for their commercials that run along the lines of "clever," "witty," or at least, "laugh out loud funny." Silly, even in its heyday, was rarely laugh out loud funny.

Lie to Me made some behind-the-scenes changes this season, translating into on-screen changes for Kelli Williams' character, Gillian Foster.
Shawn Ryan tells the truth about reinventing Lie to Me
The 39-year-old former star of The Practice says the addition of executive producer Shawn Ryan and a focus on character-based stories has helped the series, which premiered as a midseason replacement in January. Williams says she welcomes the changes, which have opened numerous possibilities for Foster's future.
"Foster was in a much heavier place at the end of last year with her marriage falling apart," Williams says. "This season there's a little bit more levity in the office. And since I'm no longer with my husband, there are a lot of places they can take Foster."
For one thing, the writers chose to make Foster less of a stickler.

Chicago – When “Lie to Me” premiered earlier this year, the show simply didn’t work. But a lot has happened since then.
The very talented Shawn Ryan (creator of “The Shield”) has come on board as executive producer and Tim Roth has expressed interest in developing his character as more than a cog in a mystery-of-the-week machine. Both the new emphasis on character and stronger writing makes for a season-two premiere that hints at a show with much more potential than when the series began.
Television Rating: 3.5/5.0 Back in January, I wrote, “Cluttered TV scripts reek of desperation and “Lie To Me” is just not well-written. Roth is good and Williams isn’t bad, but TV has always been and will always be about the writing and the pilot for “Lie To Me” is a mess. The cases, the dialogue, the supporting characters - none of it works.”
Lie To Me...

Last week I bemoaned the too-packed programming of the 8 p.m. slot on Mondays. Turns out 9 p.m.'s not much easier. Teen soaps and dramedies, procedurals, gripping -- and not gripping so much as gyrating -- reality; I don't know whether to laugh or cry. (If I settle on Greek and Intervention, I'll probs do both. Heyo!) Anyway, let's run down the options: 'Dancing with the Stars,' 8–10 p.m., ABC Reasons to watch: Baz Luhrman is tonight's guest judge. Reasons to skip: Jive, quickstep, and tango? Bo-ring. Plus, kind of a bummer they already cut Macy Gray.

Chicago – For its entire first season, “Dollhouse” fluctuated wildly in tone and style, never quite figuring itself out as a weekly series and remaining inconsistent in terms of quality. Every time it threatened to finally click together an awful episode or dumb plot twist would derail it and fans would be left shaking their heads. Even though many things have changed for season two, the frustration remains the same.
Television Rating: 2.5/5.0 Perhaps it’s ironic that a show about people who can take on any persona has yet to really develop one of its own. The surprise renewal has reportedly reinvigorated creator Joss Whedon and his team, as they have made clear that season two of “Dollhouse” will shake things up and head in a new direction. Despite a strong guest appearance from Jamie Bamber (“Battlestar Galactica”) and the arrival of the great Alexis Denisof (“Angel”) as a supporting cast regular,...

Last week we showed you some promotional photos for the season premiere of Dollhouse titled Vows. The images were quite small and tough to see, but did provide some details about the season premiere episode, guest staring Jamie Bamber, in the meta data of the images. Fox has now released these promotional photos and we wanted to provide them to you in a little better detail.
So what do we know about the season premiere of Dollhouse? Well, we know that it guest stars Jamie Bamber as a wealthy financier, and that he and Echo apparently get married. Also it seems that Paul (Tahmoh Penikett) will challenge Echo to remember her past in order to save his life. But it also seems that Paul isn't too happy about Echo's marriage as the two scuffle a bit. You can see the Dollhouse season premiere on Fox on Friday, September 25 at 9 pm...

A very small – and I say that quite literally – look at the Dollhouse Season 2 premiere episode "Vows" has leaked out to the web. The episode features guest star Jamie "Apollo" Bamber of Battlestar Galactica. Get out your magnifying glasses and skip ahead for the spoilery shots.
Although the pics are quite small (artificially enlarged by our gallery script), the meta data within the pics does offer some insight as to what is going on in this episode of Dollhouse. We've reproduced that for your reading pleasure. Not sure on the first source of the pics, so we'll credit everybody: whedonesque for the alert post, and blank_dolls for the flickr.

Chicago – The networks announce their fall schedules this week and Eliza Dushku fans will be happy that her on-the-bubble show from TV genius Joss Whedon, “Dollhouse,” got a last minute reprieve from the TV gas chamber and will be on the Fox fall schedule. While “Dollhouse” made the cut, “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” was shown the door.
The rest of the Fox fall schedule was relatively predictable. We knew by now that “Prison Break” has been cancelled and that “24” wouldn’t come back until mid-season, but Fox did relocate a number of series, moving new shows “Lie To Me” and “Fringe” to new nights.
Dollhouse: When a traitor is discovered inside the Dollhouse, Echo (Eliza Dushku) is programmed as a spy hunter to uncover the culprit in the Dollhouse episode "A Spy in the House of Love" airing Friday, April 10 (9:01-10:00 Pm Et/Pt) on Fox.

Joss Whedon certainly shot out of the gates with a solid run for Buffy and Angel, but Firefly didn't quite take off, despite the fact that it was actually a pretty good show. Dr. Horrible's Sing-a-Long Blog became a cult classic practically overnight, and now quite a large percentage of the viewing public seems absolutely itching for Whedon's next effort, Dollhouse. Dollhouse: Boyd (Harry Lennix, L) and Topher (Fran Kranz, R) prepare Echo (Eliza Dushku, C) for her next engagement in the Dollhouse episode "The Target" airing Friday, Feb. 20 (9:01-10:00 Pm Et/Pt) on Fox. ©2009 Fox Broadcasting Co. Cr: Isabella Vosmikova/Fox So, is the show going to live up to expectations? It's certainly the kind of plot outline that feels like only Whedon could pull off, but will it rocket to cult superstardom, or will it go the way of Firefly? The premise, as if you didn't know,...

Chicago – Almost twelve years ago, a little show called “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” premiered in mid-season on The WB and a cult was officially born. Over a decade later, creator Joss Whedon brings his latest mid-season vision, “Dollhouse” with Eliza Dushku to Fox this Friday, February 13th, 2009 and he recently sat down for a press conference to give readers a sneak peek.
Most of the fans excited about “Dollhouse” already know about the show’s pre-broadcast reputation as something of a problem child for Fox. Last summer, it was announced that the planned pilot, “Echo,” would no longer be the first episode and that the show was being reworked. The massive online following for the creator of “Buffy,” “Angel,” and “Firefly” started getting a little nervous.
Whedon now says that it just took some time to find the show, but that nothing he could say would stop the rumors. As he says now,...
