Hulu has been investing in the horror market lately, so it’s nice to see them getting outside the normal possession or curse stuff. And if there’s any type of film that we sorely need more of, it’s scale alien invasion films. These more personal tales always feel so much more real than the more bombastic and planet-shattering ones. No One Will Save You is more akin to A Quiet Place. We’re focusing on one person during what is clearly a planetwide event. While I wasn’t entirely totally sold on the film (check out my review), I had a great time talking to writer/director Brian Duffield. This was clearly a passion project for him; he knew the star he had in Kaitlyn Dever and how to utilize her properly. And she sounds like an absolute sweetheart. Check out the video above!

For those who watched Dan Trachtenberg‘s amazing Predator prequel Prey on Hulu last summer, you are in for another terrific sci-fi film.
Hulu is streaming No One Will Save You on Sept. 22, 2023, in the U.S., Star+ in Latin America, and Disney+ in all other territories.
An Invasion Is Imminent, according to Brian Duffield, who wrote and directed 20th Century Studios’ “No One Will Save You,” a sci-fi psychological thriller told through the eyes of a lonely young woman with a painful backstory. “I wanted the movie to take the lead of a small intimate character study and drop an alien invasion on top of them,” says Duffield. “The end of the world won’t only be for those that are ready for it, and the idea of an alien movie rudely bursting the bubble our character has spent years building and cultivating felt like a unique way to tell a favorite story.

Bradley Cooper’s “Maestro” will close out AFI Fest on Oct. 29.
The film which screened at the Venice Film Festival to a 7-minute standing ovation follows the life of legendary stage composer Leonard Bernstein and his relationship with Felicia Montealegre (Carey Mulligan).
“’Mastro’ displays Bradley Cooper’s symphony of talent with the power of a cymbal crash,” said Bob Gazzale, AFI President and CEO. “It is AFI’s honor to shine a light upon this extraordinary work of art on the festival’s Closing Night.”
Aside from directing and starring in the film, Cooper co-wrote the script with Josh Singer. The supporting cast includes Matt Bomer (as Bernstein’s lover), Maya Hawke (as Bernstein’s daughter Jamie) and Sarah Silverman (as Bernstein’s sister Shirley).

The trailer for 20th Century Studios’ No One Will Save You kicks off with a home invasion of a different sort. The intruder announces its presence with a growl, confirming there’s something inhuman entering the house. And rather than draw out the tease, the trailer wraps up with a quick shot of the alien invader.
Writer/director Brian Duffield follows up his directorial debut Spontaneous with this sci-fi thriller, which focuses on the alien invasion through the eyes of a young woman named Brynn.
“I wanted the movie to take the lead of a small, intimate character study and drop an alien invasion on top of them,” stated Duffield. “The end of the world won’t only be for those that are ready for it, and the idea of an alien movie rudely bursting the bubble our character has spent years building and cultivating felt like a unique way to tell a favorite story.

Aliens have arrived, and that may be just one of Kaitlyn Dever’s problems, in the new trailer for “No One Will Save You.” The sophomore effort from director Brian Duffield, whose “Spontaneous” was an unusually of-the-moment horror parable for kids growing up in an era of mass shootings and climate change, arrives on Hulu courtesy of 20th Century Studios on Sept. 22.
Dever stars as Brynn, who puts up a surprising amount of resistance when aliens show up on her doorstep. The trailer cleverly starts with a tease that the film will be a home invasion thriller before revealing that the invaders aren’t from our planet. We then get a montage of our heroine doing her best to fend off the intergalactic menace, including period details like a rotary telephone and what looks to be 1970s wardrobes.

One of this year’s Halloween treats from Hulu is the alien invasion horror movie No One Will Save You, and one hell of a first-look trailer has just been unleashed this afternoon.
No One Will Save You was written and directed by Brian Duffield, the writer of the films Underwater and Love & Monsters, as well as the writer/director of Spontaneous.
Duffield tells Bloody Disgusting, “One of the things that I’m really excited about is that [the trailer] hides two of the big hooks or twists of the movie that audiences will realize very quickly into watching the movie. The other fun thing that the trailer does is that it gives a lot of glimpses of aliens. Our movie, to be pretty blunt about it, when they walk in, eight minutes in, there’s very little hide and seek. It’s not 90 minutes of hide and seek. The movie, especially...

Exclusive: Fresh off a surprise “work in progress” screening at SXSW, Robert Rodriguez’s action-thriller Hypnotic, starring Ben Affleck, has been set for a May 12 U.S. release.
As we revealed last month, Ketchup Entertainment will be launching the movie on more than 2,000 screens.
The looming release for a movie that remains unfinished is yet another talking point in the project’s tumultuous journey to screen.
Little has been straight-forward for Hypnotic but the warm reception it received on Sunday night was a welcome respite for its creatives and financiers. It’s unusual for a big budget film to get a public “work in progress” screening at a festival but Austin was a smart choice given the home crowd’s reverence for Texas-native Rodriguez.
The director said today: “I’ve been working on this film for many years now, and to see the reaction from my home town audience at SXSW was humbling and validating.
