VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop: Miami” is samba-ing to a new night.
The South Beach spinoff of hit series and franchise-sparker “Love & Hip Hop” will return to the Viacom cable channel on Wednesday, Jan. 2 at 8/7c. Fans of the South-Florida version of the show will want to update their DVRs from Monday recordings to Wednesdays.
The New York City-version will air on Mondays as “Miami” holds down Wednesdays. That means VH1 gets a double-dose of tune-in — and TV ratings are the strength of the reality-show universe.
“Love & Hip Hop: Miami” marked VH1’s highest rated reality launch since 2014 when it debuted last January, and the various incarnations of “Love & Hip Hop” regularly rank as cable’s No. 1 unscripted show on Monday nights.

I started to read the headline of the press release in my email inbox with an enthusiasm that didn't last much longer after I got to the word "unscripted." Because we really need more reality TV series on TV, don't we? We tv has ordered not one, but two new unscripted series centering on the lives of black women attorneys: “Ladies of Law” and “Sisters in Law.” “Ladies of Law” follows four interconnected New York City-based powerful and glamorous African American female lawyers who specialize in entertainment law - an industry dominated by men. The project is produced by Eastern and Monami Entertainment, with exec producers Stefan Springman, Mala Chapple and...

VH1 is getting more real -- and shockingly unshocking -- with an across-the-board programming revamp that will include producing a record 44 original series this year, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Eschewing Flavor of Love and its ilk for more "authenticity" in its upcoming new reality, VH1 will bring viewers dozens of new shows such as You're Cut Off, which aims to reform spoiled party girls, and Money Hungry, in which contestants can lose up to $10,000 of their own cash if they don't cut calories. A whopping 40 percent of programming will return to the network's original focus, music, starting with brand...
