Daisy May Cooper is under consideration to take over from Dame Judi Dench as M in the next iteration of the James Bond franchise, per multiple reports.
The Gloucestershire-born actor and writer is best known for her West Country comedy series This Country, which she wrote and starred in.
According to The Sun, Cooper’s potential casting came about after Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s work on No Time to Die paved the way for more comedy in the franchise.
“Daisy is a close pal of Phoebe, whose involvement in Bond was such a success that it sparked an unlikely conversation,” a source told the tabloid.

Katic plays a journalist who runs into a lover (Mark Polish) from her past and they re-ignite their passion. Their love soon sends them travelling throughout France as they experience bliss, joy, confusion and guilt.
Michael Polish ("The Astronaut Farmer") will direct the project inspired by Claude Lalouch's "A Man and a Woman" and other French New Wave cinema. The Polish Brothers will also produce along with Sean O'Grady.

Stana Katic (ABC's "Castle") is set to start in "For Lovers Only" which is a Polish Brothers' romance. She'll play a journalist on assignment who bumps into a lover from the past. Katic starss opposite Mark Polish. Michael Polish directs from the screenplay by Mark Polish. The brothers produce alongside Sean O'Grady. Inspired by Claude Lalouch's "A Man and a Woman," the story tells of a couple fleeing Paris and traveling by train, car and motorcycle as their love affair takes them from France, Normany to St. Tropez. Both go through long periods of carefree bliss as well as brief moments of guilt and confusion. Apparently, the finale is left open to interpretation.
