Impact Future Media and Equinoxe Films have announced that they are developing multiple projects about millionaire fugitive and anti-virus software founder John McAfee.
One is a $28 million feature biopic entitled "Running In The Background," while another is an animated documentary adaptation of McAfee's 'on-the-lam' blog "The Hinterland" run by Chad Essley. Essley will helm the latter which will be narrated by McAfee.
A former Nasa programmer, McAfee is the 66-year-old software guru who developed the first commercial anti-virus program. He has been evading authorities in Belize who sought to question him about the murder of American expatriate and neighbor Gregory Viant Faull.
This project isn't to be confused with the recently announced "John McAfee’s Last Stand" over at Warner Bros. Pictures which "Crazy Stupid Love" helmers John Requa and Glenn Ficarra are directing.
While that Warners project is based on a Wired article, this rival one has secured McAfee...
