If you've seen trailers for Tuesday's all new episode of The CW's "The Flash," then you already know the flame-spewing superhero Firestorm is getting a sizzling makeover.
When Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber) falls ill, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and his S.T.A.R. Labs scientists must find a replacement for his metahuman partner Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell), who died last season saving the city.
After a screening of the flame-filled, emotionally charged episode -- titled "The Fury of Firestorm" -- Moviefone spoke to "Flash" co-showrunner Andrew Kreisberg and star Danielle Panabaker, who plays Dr. Caitlin Snow, Ronnie's crestfallen widow. The two of discussed the new-look Firestorm and also teased several big moments from later on in the season, including the emergence of Killer Frost, the upcoming "Arrow" crossover, and the return of everyone's favorite villain -- Grodd.

The CW’s universally-adored DC series, The Flash is steadily acquiring plenty of new cast members for its sophomore season, and today brings news of two more additions.
First up, The Wrap reports that a fresh comrade has been located for Barry Allen in the shape of fellow speedster Jesse Quick — aka Jesse Chambers in the comics. Newcomer Violett Beane snagged the plum role, playing the “brilliant, quirky college student who gets caught up in Barry Allen’s battle with Season 2’s big bad, Zoom, who has yet to be cast.” This harks back to executive producer Andrew Kreisberg’s earlier comments that the show would be increasing the amount of speedsters this year.

The Unit alum Demore Barnes has been cast in The Flash‘s second season as Henry Hewitt, familiar to Firestorm comic fans as the villain Tokamak.
According to ComicBook.com, which first reported the news, Henry is a charming but cocky scientist who was affected by the same particle accelerator explosion that created The Flash. When Caitlin Snow recruits him to join the S.T.A.R. Labs team, Henry begins to fulfill his destiny as a powerful meta-human.

Another villain is headed to The Flash in Season 2, and even though the Scarlet Speedster has a whole collection of rogues that he battles against, this character will actually a major foe of Firestorm’s. As first reported by ComicBook.com, Demore Barnes will appear in The Flash’s second season as Henry Hewitt, better known as Tokamak. In the comics, the character is the head of a corrupt energy conglomerate that battles against Congress to manipulate the markets for his own personal gain. However, in The CW’s The Flash, Hewitt is described as “a charming, but cocky scientist who was affected by the same Particle Accelerator explosion that created the Flash. When Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) recruits him to join the team at S.T.A.R. Labs, Hewitt jumps at the opportunity to fulfill his destiny as a powerful meta-human.” Barnes currently stars as Marcus Whitley on Syfy’s 12 Monkeys.

According to Comicbook.com, the 12 Monkeys actor will guest star as 'Henry Hewitt', who in the comics is more commonly known as the Firestorm adversary, 'Tokamak'. The CW have described his character as "a charming, but cocky scientist who was affected by the same Particle Accelerator explosion that created the Flash." The site have also added a few story details reagrding his role as well. "When Caitlin Snow recruits him to join the team at S.T.A.R. Labs, Hewitt jumps at the opportunity to fulfill his destiny as a powerful meta-human." From the sounds of it, Barnes' Hewitt seems destined to follow his villainous, super-powered roots, but will Robbie Amell's 'Ronnie Raymond' be around to keep him in check? The future of Firestorm in the DC TV universe still remains shrouded in secrecy.
