It’s been a couple months since the last edition of What’s Up Doc? placed Michael Moore’s surprise world premiere of Where To Invade Next at the top of this list and in the meantime much shuffling has taken place and much time has been spent on various new endeavors (namely my Buffalo-based film series, Cultivate Cinema Circle). Finally taking its rightful place at the top, D.A. Pennebaker and Chris Hagedus’ Unlocking the Cage is in the midst of being scored by composer James Lavino, according to Lavino’s own personal site. Though the project has been taking shape at its own leisurely pace, I’d expect to see the film making its festival debut in early 2016.

Imagine you're eight years old again. You've just sat down at a movie theater with your parents to see the "Shrek" spinoff, "Puss in Boots," where a lovable talking cat goes around sword fighting and making cute jokes. You're expecting some kid-friendly trailers before the film begins, too! But, unfortunately, the downright terrifying clip for "The Devil Inside" plays instead, subsequently scarring you for life and making you sleep with a nightlight on until you're 25.
This is the reality one such audience encountered during a UK screening of "Puss in Boots." Before the movie started, the cinema accidentally played the trailers for "The Devil Inside" and "Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance." The children -- and parents -- were not pleased by the horrifying exorcisms or Nic Cage's attempt at the cultural understanding of his muse that is part of the zeitgeist head exploding into flames.

Wandsworth Cineworld shows trailers for The Devil Inside and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance before animated film
Young children were reportedly left petrified after a cinema in south London accidentally screened trailers for a 15-rated horror film ahead of a showing for animated tale Puss in Boots.
Parents were forced to shield their offspring's eyes when the screen at Wandsworth Cineworld lit up with a graphic trailer for The Devil Inside, an upcoming "found footage" -style film about exorcism and demonic possession. Inappropriate scenes included close-ups of a woman covered in cuts with demonic eyes and shots of a girl with dislocated limbs writhing on a bed.
A separate trailer for Nicolas Cage-starring comic-book tale Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance also frightened toddlers with its depiction of a motorcycle rider whose head explodes in flame shooting fire at a devil who is trying to possess a human.

Video / Trailer for "Lad from Old Ireland" / Click here This year the Boston Irish Film Festival present a unique multimedia event that takes you back to the early 1910s when pioneering screenwriter/actress Gene Gauntier and director Sidney Olcott of the Kalem Film Company blazed a trail from New York to Killarney—and into history. Affectionately known as the “O’Kalems,” Gauntier, Olcott, and their crew became the first American filmmakers to shoot overseas and the first to produce films that reflected the realities of the Irish experience. A sentimental mix of rebel dramas, folk romances and tales of exile and emigration, their films proved tremendously popular with the Irish in America and helped ease the ease the pangs of being so far from home. At the Boston Irish Film Festival on Monday, November 23, Blazing the Trail presents a selection of these rarely-seen films with live musical accompaniment and interspersed...
