Channel 4 has ordered a one-off fictional documentary titled 100 Days of Ukip.
The 'what-if' drama will see an imagined future in which Nigel Farage's party wins the general election in May 2015.
Raw TV will produce the programme about Ukip's first 100 days in power, featuring both members of the public and actors.
Real-life archive material will be used alongside scripted drama to show how the UK's government policy changes with Ukip in power.
Channel 4's Head of Documentaries Nick Mirsky said: "This is a very exciting commission from a team known for brave and thought-provoking television."
Executive Producer Richard Bond added: "With support for Ukip growing in the polls, this is a timely exploration of the effect their policies might have on Britain."
Cast announcements for the drama will be announced in the coming weeks. It will air on Channel 4 in early 2015.

Harry Potter star Nicholas Read has avoided a jail sentence after indecently exposing himself to a teenage girl.
The 40-year-old dwarf, who has also appeared as an Ewok in the Star Wars movie franchise, performed a sex act on himself under a hat on a train in October after "trapping" the 17-year-old girl.
Read, who has previous sex convictions, was convicted of indecent exposure last month, and on Friday he was handed a 20-week suspended prison term at Leicester Crown Court, England.
He was also ordered to attend a sex offenders course, with Judge Richard Bond telling him, "Imprisonment won't help you, and it won't protect the public from your fantasies."...

Nicholas Read, who played an Ewok in Return of the Jedi, given suspended sentence for performing sex act in front of teenager
An actor who appeared in the Harry Potter and Star Wars films has been given a suspended 20-week jail term for indecently exposing himself to a teenager on a train.
Former pantomime star Nicholas Read, who played an Ewok in Return of the Jedi, was told by a judge that a suspended sentence would offer the best opportunity for rehabilitation.
Read, of Cheadle, north Staffordshire, was convicted of indecent exposure last month after a 17-year-old girl told Leicester crown court how the actor performed a sex act under the cover of a juggler's hat.
Read was shown mercy by recorder Richard Bond despite having previous convictions for sexual offences, including an incident in which he climbed into the bed of a stage manager and his girlfriend.
