The Baby (2022)
Intriguing but a quick bore
The idea of this is really interesting but the acting (from everyone) is awful and so far very boring. Currently on episode 3 and will probably stop after this one.
The Iron Lady (2011)
On the fence with this
The movie itself isn't bad but I felt they tried to make Thatcher the victim to counteract the awful things she did to the UK as a serving Prime Minister. I'm on the fence as I hate Thatcher and all she stands for but the film itself is quite well written other than the film makers playing the victim card in her behalf. They also almost entirely ignored the miners strike and thw Northern Ireland troubles.
School of the Damned (2019)
One if the worse films I've ever seen
Incredibly slow and boring. Primary children could put on a better play.
Prime Time (2021)
A lot of people seemed to miss the point
I enjoyed this although judging by a lot of the reviews most people seemed to miss the point which is a shame as I think it had a good message.
Spolier below to help those that stuck with it to the end but didn't get it. Stop reading now if you want to have a go at figuring ot out for yourself!..........
About half way through, Sebastian asked the negotiator what would happen to him according to the law. The negotiator explains if he hurts the hostages he's looking at 5-20 years but if he let's them go he won't be charged and will walk free. Fast forward a bit and his demands to have the cameras turned on to make his statement are finally met and the cameras are switched on and begin to record. He then supposedly bottles it and can't make his speech. Later he apparently tries to kill himself but the gun isn't loaded! The police then force their way in and beat him. Someone in the crew says something along the lines of "we got that on tape" and the director then pulls the tape from the machine and slips it into her bag.
He therefore did make his statement on camera although he did want it to be broadcast live as he didn't know someone (the director) would help him and hide the tape. The point he was making was no matter his innocence in the eyes if the law, the police don't care and will do what they want and beat an innocent man.
Closing credits featured "Freed from desire" by Gala. I thought this summed up the feel of thr film perfectly.
Splatter (2009)
Crazy this rated so low
This is pretty decent for a bad movie. It's not supposed to be Oscar worthy and all the low ratings suggest that's what people are looking for. You can't score every movie from the same tick sheet. Give it a watch, you might be surprised.
Homunculus (2021)
Pay no attention to the "I didn't understand it crowd"
This is an amazing film. Don't pay any dues to the 3 stay reviews from people who didn't understand what they were watching. If you don't understand it, don't review it. This is outstanding. I haven't seen anything that comes close to this in a long time. I won't spoil it as I believe everyone should make up their own mind but ignore the idiots who couldn't be bothered.
The Meg (2018)
Pretty decent for fans of bad movies
I found this quite enjoyable. Great film for those that love a good bad movie!
A Cure for Wellness (2016)
Should have left out the ending
Pretty decent movie for the most part. I was willing to overlook the plot holes and would rate the majority of this 8/10. The last 10 minutes however 0/10!! Utterly pointless and made this film into a sci-fi when it didn't need to be.
Mother! (2017)
Don't give up!
I got half way through this film and thought "this is awful" and turned it off. I then came here and saw all the 10/10's and thought I must have missed the point and restarted. I'm so glad I did as everything then started clicking into place for me.
Keep going! It's definitely worth it!
