Nattevagten (1994)
Have you ever been killed before?
The Quote above isn't a hypothetical question yet doesn't require an answer, however it's a bold statement from our sadistic killer.
The movie is a thrill to watch if you like mystery/crime movies, it has great plot, cast and somehow obvious twist. The movie didn't fail to provide some comedic portions in between. That's why it has been adapted in an English version years after.
The movie follows a Law student which gets a student job in the forensic medicine institute, while a series of murder occurs among women in Copenhagen. Bearing in mind various unexplained issues, he becomes a prime suspect.
Waldau & Bodina chemistry is enlightening which you don't want to miss.
Novecento (1976)
A Bit Long Movie BUT!!
A Bertolucci's movie is a must watch regardless of the cast, plot or your opinion in the man himself.
I could write a lot but I'll try to be straight and to the point. I usually enjoy movies that expose or examine a specific period of time that I did not have chance to witness. It's a journey from youth to adulthood of our two lead characters with very different backgrounds, their paths were different yet they connected occasionally even though they didn't share the same perspective in life. The movie examined love, politics, friendship and family, it's a journey called life with all of its good and bad.
Pros:
Very Good Cast and memorable acting
Cons:
CAT SCENE " It was too much"
I watched over 3000 Titles and have never encountered anything like this.
Italiensk for begyndere (2000)
Simple but Charming 7/10
I am usually a fan of Danish Cinema and this one didn't fail to meet my expectations.
I am usually drawn into that movies that examine human behavior, relationships and psychology, movies that have a good dialogue and fair representation to reality.
The movie offers solution to some of the most prevailing illnesses nowadays "2023" depression. Dancing in particular was medicine in the movie by which many characters have met developed friendships & relationships, to me the outcome was not important yet the initiative to get out of your comfort zone and engage in new activities regardless what they are was the key lesson.
What I truly like is the simplicity of the idea and excellent delivery, the movie kept forcing myself to ask questions rather than presenting solutions and such movies enlighten my day.
The Nile Hilton Incident (2017)
7/10 Thriller Movie 🎥🎥
The movie is great to watch and I will would watch it again sooner or later.
The story is adapted from reality as per the death of a famous Arabian singer, you would related to many events in the movie if you are Egyptian like me.
Pros:
- Fares acting is great and his perfection to Egyptian Arabic is something that I truly admired
- The Actors overall were great
- Good Plot with good series of incidents that maintains interest throughout the movie
Cons:
- Kamal character for me was one dimensional, only talking about money. I felt that the character should have additional depth.
- the dialogue at some points was lame and poor.
- I disliked the introduction of the revolution and felt it was irrelevant.
Primal Fear (1996)
Norton's performance is convincing as always
The movie is not bad and a lot of people would appreciate it. However, as someone who watched more than 3000 titles I have to say the following:
1- Gere performance was an average and I believe there was a problem in his character development and which didn't help his case. In other words, I did not figure if he is someone with virtue or someone who just would not care. In the beginning he saying to Aaron that it doesn't matter if he is innocent or not and at the end he felt betrayed when he figured Aaron wasn't innocent, what makes its worse that there was no transition for his character along the plot to justify his character morals being changed.
2- Janet calling Goodman to stand as witness and asking about the tape, when the very previous day, she didn't have any intention whatsoever to bring the subject of the tape is ambiguous.
3- In the very last scene, when Aaron mentioned "Janet Neck being Broken", it took vail a while to figure it all out which I find eccentric due to the fact that it is excessively acknowledged throughout the movie how smart he is. It further required additional explanation by Aaron that he manipulated vail throughout the trial.
The Batman (2022)
The Batman needs a Shrink !!
The movie overall wasn't bad, the plot was engaging and you wouldn't be bored. The riddles were engaging and provided necessary spices for the recipe. Batman's doubt to his father's image was brilliant and distinctive. The movie had minor issues that were irrelevant to the story, for instance Selena being falcone's daughter which was uncalled for and did not provide any further depth to the plot. There are some aspects that I would like to clarify accordingly.
1- Pattinson is good, but Bale was awesome.
2- Batman participation in Crime Scenes investigation surrounded by police officers as if he is one of them was not justified whatsoever nor satisfying
3- Gordon's relation with the Batman portrayal as a partnership which was even highlighted by penguin (good cop & bad cop) was absurd. The Batman should be a one man show. While, he should allies, yet not partners.
4 Dano's performance was solid, yet he had short time on screen. Turturro as well was fascinating (expected from a Best Actor Winner in Cannes)
5- Bruce Wayne portrayal left me urged to believe that the guy needs a therapist. His scenes reflects immense depression.
VERY IMPORTANT
6- The Batman should be strong both physically as well as mentally. The interrogation with "The Riddler" followed by Batman hitting the glass with unjustified anger, emphasize someone weak mentally and easy to break. Unlike Nolan's Batman, where Bain sent the Batman to a sophisticated prison, in which it is unlikely to escape could only be explained through Bain's strategy to break him mentally and destroy his will along with any urge for resistance.
No Time to Die (2021)
Not bad
James creating breakfast for a child !! You could have casted Ben stiller or Adam Sandler instead. The villain scenes should have increased and got more depth like bardem or waltz.
