Rock & Rule (1983)
A good dystopian 80's vibe and that's about it
Well, it is very 80's and dystopian so if you are into that style and stuff that's positive I guess. The rest of the movie is terrible; the characters are annoyingly cringeworthy, especially Omar and Mok. The story makes no sense at all, and the animation is awkward. The music basically just sucks and is terribly outdated. I do like the holograms and some of the FX. But it is just a really bad movie, like REAL BAD! I was very disappointed and it felt like I wasted my time, the trailers and the "making off" are more fun to watch than the whole movie. I totally understand why it flopped back in the day.
Terrifier 2 (2022)
I liked it
I've watched it yesterday evening and I loved it actually.. Yes it is a pretty gory and bloody film, but it isn't THAT bad that you gonna pass out... I've seen more extreme movies than this one for example Martyrs (the French one) or Salo or Caligula and those last two aren't even slashers or gory kinda movies... I also hear people complaining about the story, that it is messy or that there isn't one... Well, there is, and it is just fine and not that hard to follow if you didn't see the first one. I liked this movie, it is entertaining!
So I don't understand what all the fuzz about this movie was about, it worked for marketing I guess and I could understand that if you are not a horror fan or used to extreme movies that it can be quite shocking maybe. But it is a good movie which I can recommend to everybody who loves the genre!
Any Way the Wind Blows (2003)
Super pretentious
When it came out in 2003 I thought it was a good movie, for the time being, but now I think it is just pure nonsense; the film just goes about a couple of people who live their life and in the end al meet at one party and then still nothing happens. It is just really pretentious, movie wise, clothing wise and music wise. The music is something you will hear in a hipster bar, it mostly consist of accoustic jazz and bossanova's, some techno by squarepusher, and those typical 70's style funk with electric piano sounds.
This movie was "hipster" while hipsters didn't even excist back then in 2003 but it is exactly THAT! This movie is the guy who disrespects you because you listen to CD's or spotify instead of vinyl or because you drink American Whiskey instead of Scottisch Whisky; which has to be single malt, or that guy who prefers analog above digital or complains at you because you are drinking heineken instead of craftbear from a microbrewery... This movie is THAT guy.
Jobs (2013)
I think it was pretty good
I saw the movie and I loved it. For me it doesn't really matter if it is truthfull or not so truthfull about Steve Jobs; it is a movie so I consider it as pure entertainment and it did entertain me a lot. Also I thought Ashton Kutcher is doing a good acting job on this movie as well as the other actors; especially Dermot Mulroney stands out as Mike Markkula.
All with all; it is a movie and not the official biography of Steve Jobs.
