Madonna Live: The Virgin Tour (1985)
10
Never went to the concert, but had a great time watching it.
I first discovered Madonna music on Youtube, I did not really know Madonna, I heard she was just a famous pop star, and wasn't so special. But, when I heard that her first concert was something impressive...
It was top quality, guitar solos, dancing moves, enthusiasm. The atmosphere seems to be so gigantically great, frenetic and crazy. And even by watching the concert on the DVD: Dress you up, get into the groove, holidays.
I just can't imagine what it was like for people to see her performing this date. It must have been terrific. No,,, really, it must have been terrific,I just have goose bumps only by thinking about it. IT is a life time experience
Body of Evidence (1992)
Body of Evidence should be renamed, manipulation and seduction?
It is a good movie starring this time Willem Dafoe. The introduction begins with a suicidal and policemen coming to inspect the place of the crime. Well, nothing special about it. However,as the story unfolds, the mystery soon fades.
Firstly, Madonna plays her role very well, a bit like in desperately seeking Susan, but this time, she has got more screen time, and she has definitely improved. Different scenes which are good should not be forgotten as the restaurant one, or the trials one. I literally loved how Willem Dafoe magnified the role of a fearsome lawyer. The chemistry between him and Madonna is again really good, but this time, the movie looks way more professional compared to "Who is that girl", for instance.
Nevertheless, the story did not fascinate me and it was too much sexual sometimes, so I would give it a rate of seven.
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
The best film ever.
It is my best film ever, it tops of course the the two first Madonna movies (Seeking Susan and Who is that girl in 1985/1987). Where to begin, the actors play well, they are charismatic, they assume what they are doing. It is a mixture of drama, love, passion, adventure and Darth Vador. He is the main antagonist of this episode of Star wars. The empire strikes back is a good title for this movie, as the rebels are in deep trouble. Luke is training to become a Jedi. I can spoil only one thing, that there is going to so much emotion in Bespin City (the cloud city). There is a two minute scenes which captures really well the spirit of the movie. So I would give it a rate of twenty out of ten. Eventough it is not possible.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
The force awakens? but I am still sleeping
I did not like this movie, I watched it on the cinema several months ago and it was really bad. I really did not know what was going on and I started realizing I should have watched another movie. The movie made me feel embarrassed and depressed at the same time. Several questions would come up into my head, why, how? What!! Actually, the movie in itself is not bad, the acting is overplayed, it is not that they are new actors that bother me, but they don't assume what they are doing, they should add something to this franchise of Star Wars. No need to be Harrison Ford, to add your personal touch, so I would be waiting for the next Stars to maybe change my mind.
So I would give it a rate of five.
Desperately Seeking Susan (1985)
One of the best movie I ever watched?
Desperately seeking Susan? Where to begin, in a wonderful movie, one never knows where to begin with. But... I have an answer to that. Watch the movie, really, watch it!
Because, it is a well paced movie with good characters, Madonna featuring the mysterious Susan, and Rosana Arquette: the housewife who gets to know her. Susan is confident, she has everything and quite frankly, I found Madonna to play the role fitting. In fact, this entire movie has a positive spirit which I always found in many movies featuring Madonna!
And now, adding to this we have a Rosana played by a superb actress. Finally, there is also some symbolism like the triangle in the leather jacket, so I think I will give it a rate of ten too.
Moonwalker (1988)
Yeahh
A very good song , underrated to my mind. There is a short version on the internet, the original is the best, Michael Jackson does not try to overdo it, and I find this song really good. Everything is perfect, the rhythm, the dance moves, the plot is cool too. It has this dark style which I really like, the climax of the video is really good. The children dancing outside, the plot is not focused on Michael Jackson as the other characters are really active too. I would like to find better songs of Michael Jackson as I literary hated all of his other videos-clips. For once, he is not in the center of the action, and it makes me wonder why does he not do that more often?
Evita (1996)
Evita Peron is a symbol for Argentinian people, she is the first lady of the President Juan Perron.
Short review:
As always, I don't like to summarize a movie so I won't do it, it is better viewers discover by themselves. Unfortunately I didn't like that movie that much, for one reason, because I hate musical movies. The same thing happened when I watched a movie from Marry Poppins, I just can not stand actors singing all the time!
Therefore, I could not finish the movie, some bits of it were fine, for example, the beginning of the movie when we are taught about the death of Evita. Now, the movie has some historical connotation, but just for the sake of being historical which I don't like. So I would give it a rate of five.
Who's That Girl (1987)
The fabulous adventures of Nikki Finn and Gontran Trott
Neutral review:
I have watched this movie in the summer and quite frankly I really liked it,not because Madonna played the main role in the story, but because it was a fun movie with good turn around and with good energy. I could really feel Madonna's spirit throughout the movie, a bit like in Desperately seeking Susan.
Now when we watch the movie furthermore, paying attention to little details, one can appreciate the subtle references, Elvis Presley'poster at the beginning or Madonna's soundtrack in the middle of the movie, it really adds to the experience.
I thought the movie was also really positive, it wasn't depressing or too dark. One could argue that she was a Popstar at the time and so she was already loved by many people, however, she is clearly adding hertouch the "spirit" of the movie.
So a rate of ten for this movie, sir!
