The First Lady (2022)
Really Torn on Rating
I enjoyed everything except Viola Davis' portrayal of Michelle Obama. She was so miscast and I was totally distracted by her. I don't know what the issue was with her mouth. Michelle Pfeiffer was terrific as was Gillian Anderson. If the portrayal of Michelle Obama had been better I would have rated this a 9 but the Viola Davis effort made it harder to watch.
Recommended with some reservations.
Nash Bridges (2021)
Lost On The Cutting Room Floor?
I was really hoping to see a remake of this series as the original was one of my all time favorites. As far as the characters go it was great. What I did not appreciate were the gaping plot holes. I'm sure there was more to this that was cut out to fit a time slot. If this had been split into two 2-hour shows it would have worked a lot better. The parts that were missing would have made the whole story work better. It's hard to get into something when you get lost in the first 30 minutes.
Horizon Line (2020)
If you like impossible you'll like this
There aren't many words to describe how impossible this story is. No one.....I repeat, no one could do what the two leads do in and out of the plane without dying. Other than that enjoy.
Midway (2019)
Unwatchable!
I had a hard time watching most of this. The CGI is poor and really ruined the visual part of the movie. Not that the acting is much better. You're better off watching the original from 1976.
Rio Lobo (1970)
One of the Worst
I watched this film years ago without much thought. After seeing it again recently realized that it was terrible. This movie qualifies for the bottom of the barrel. The characters and the acting are below the quality of even a B movie. Jennifer O'Neill and Jorge Rivera are totally out of it. Rivera is miscast and O'Neill's acting is beyond redemption. If I were a producer looking for an actress after this movie she would be on the bottom of my list. Wayne and Jack Elam save this movie from being a zero. Howard Hawks as the director is much to blame as well. Just a bad, bad film.
