Testing Movie1 (2015)
What a wonderful movie
This is just a great movie. wait was is a TV show? Now, I can't tell.. I was so engrossed in the narration and the acting that I just cannot seem to remember what type of title this was!
That should bear testament to the amazing job the directors and screenwriters did with this title. I think word "movie" in the title "Testing Movie" is just there to confuse people.
Patti Sollai Thattathe (1988)
Funny, Silly and time pass movie
An old tamil movie that can still make the current generation audience laugh for 30% of it.
Manorama, the veteran actress is really good - kind of a given :)
If you watch this movie now, one can see some of the "Old Madras"!! The railway station, Paris corner, Egmore, etc.
The movie has its silly moments, that would seem archaic now. But back in the 90's it was relevant or at least relatable.
Westworld (2016)
One of the best modern TV shows
This TV Show questions what we consider to be reality vs. imagination. How far would humans go to quell their thirst for adrenaline rushing action / aggression / sexual desires.
Sir Anthony Hopkins, as Dr. Ford is brilliant in the TV Show and so is Jeffrey Wright as Bernard. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0942482/
HBO certainly has a winner after Game of Thrones. Westworld is addictive and fully entertaining with numerous nail biting, and introspective moments.
Interstellar (2014)
Brilliant movie
One of the best movies to release in the last 3 years. The great storyline and visual effects makes this a must-watch.
I actually think the second time you watch it, you will see things you might have missed the first time. At least for me, the second time around, I appreciated the story better.
Matthew McConaughey is brilliant in the movie. Of course, Christopher Nolan works his magic and the end result is a stunning movie that will make you want to watch it again :)
Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
The best Thor movie so far, but not without pitfalls
The movie has all the elements of a blockbuster - great action scenes, humor, stunning visual effects, a decent story and talented actors.
The difference from the previous 2 Thor movies is that this one has a lot of humor and the story moves away from the well-known versions of Thor and Hulk. You get to see a different character in both of them.
The letdowns were all the Hela scenes. Cate Blanchett is an amazing actor however she is not convincing as the menacing Goddess of Death. Also, her background information was bleak - where she was all these years and how she escaped were dealt with just a few words.
Thor without the hammer and long locks adds a refreshing spin on the character depiction.
