The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)
It was A LOT better than I thought it would be.
Compared to the previous movies, this had a Better plot, better CGI, and better action.
In terms of plot, this followed the beginning of the of The Amazing Spider-man # 6, with the Lizard. So, Peter deals with the death of his uncle, the mystery of his father, the lies to Aunt May, and his love of heroism and Gwen Stacy. Executed greatly, and full of humor and action.
However, Andrew Garfield left a LOT to be desired. While he did play a science nerd, I felt more of a- misunderstood yet surprisingly smart teenager with an Edward Cullen haircut and dreams of being a dancer in the next Step Up movie type of acting. I felt like the some of the time he was goofy and other times super serious, but in a bad way. He seemed more harsh with his "everything can be solved with well-meaning quips and violence but I'm responsible when I cause property damage" thing.
Character- B+, for dynamic, while cliché, offered a fun 2 hours. Plot- A-, solid, yet again cliché, but still good. Errors- Standard continuity errors with a few geographical issues. Stan Lee scene- A+,hilarious!
All in All, A movie, but after other summer movies, it is just not Avengers standard.
Grave Encounters (2011)
This is how you prove ghosts are real.
When one of the Ghost Adventures crew dies unexpectedly/violently during filming, ghosts are real. This movie truly inspires fear. I believe in ghosts, and spirits, why? Because, true fear is the unknown. I've felt eyes on me in old houses, my GrandDad's house is haunted, and even my Jehovah Witness Grandmother says it haunted, that's what scares me. Thin hallways, Victorian house, shivers. Then we come to insane asylums. I will NEVER go into one on a dare, ever, because that stupid. And you will pay the price. Like these poor souls. The fear, the tense-waiting-for-a-loud-noise feeling is what makes this movie GREAT. No matter what people say, this is a great movie!
Power Rangers Samurai (2011)
I still don't like it...but my parents do, so whatever.
Let's just get his out of the way, I never liked the Power Ranger series. I've watched them all, no matter how god awful they were, just to say that I have a true opinion. So here's how I rate it: Acting, actors, plot, factual information, effects and interesting points.
Acting: 2/10. The acting is one dimensional, and absolutely degrading to actors everywhere. Are they intentionally trying NOT to act? My 9th grade acting class had more talent in it, and 5 kids dropped out SCHOOL by 10th grade! And some PR had great actors in it (Pink Ranger!) and just dropped in skill since.
Actors: .5/10. I feel more emotion from Disney.
Plot: 5/10. The plot is always trashy, but still there.
Factual Info: 2/10. Some of Japanese/Chinese characters are incorrect. Such as the Green Ranger's, Samurai of Forest, is actually Samurai of Tree...as a literal translation. Also, bowing and the actual weapons are off, just a bit. And the order of writing the character is out of order too.
Effects: Power Ranger/10...yeah...
Interesting Points. 1/10. No Asian country shows this show...that's how factual and interesting it is.
I give is a -10, but a 1 works just as well.
Alphas (2011)
This is so amazing! Nigel-Murray is such a great actor, and so adorable!
Alphas is a great SciFi series and I hope it goes far. Five people, called Alphas, have supernatural powers. Strength, Extreme senses, ability to see all forms of electromagnetic wave, mind control, and many more are all stressed in the first episode of suspense and questions. Bill is aggressive, an so far my least favorite character. Gary is my favorite characters, and that's not just because hes Vincent off of BONES, but because of his abnormal attitude and great...well, not so great, personality. Nina and the other girl are very conflicting characters. On one hand, ones a whore and the other is kinda annoying. On the other hand, Vincent is so cute in this series! Ahem.... My family and I loved this Pilot and hopes the series continues.
BTW, the people with negative reviews should have better reasons than, "Oh this is old" or "That's not America!". The show is amazing, and has NO qualities of the X-men. Why? Because the X-men comics have to do with SCIENCE and mutations and FOCUS on that. Doesn't that mean EVERY SINGLE SUPERHERO show copy the X-men? No, it means this is different, and action-y and well written!
So WATCH IT! It's a great thinker, and leaves you at the edge of your seat!
Green Lantern (2011)
I liked it, it's not the most...Factual story (As in, reading the comics)
But its not as bad as people make it out to be. It's 15x better than Thor...that has GOT to count as something.
Watched Green Lantern...On a scale of best to worst represented by Titanic to Kazaam...Its about Star Trek (2009)...Great effects (and hot actors/actresses), but a solid story and proper background into the series is lacking....
1. Hal isn't the first Human to be a GL, that's Alan Scott. 2. Along with the first, most people don't understand that Alan was the first, Hal was the strongest (Will wise) and John was the blackest (and better fighting wise.) 3. CALM DOWN, DC movies only top with Batman, Marvel is better 'cuz its got the Disney money now. 4. Thor was god awful...So this is better in comparison. Win/Win, right?
I give it 3.9/5 shirtless Ryan Reynolds...Mmmm,Love you, Ryan...
