Brendon Chase (1980)
How I loved it
This has been aired on Swedish television twice, 1981 and later in 1984 as one of the shows on "Sommarmorgon" (Summer morning), a program for kids during the summer.
It's about a bunch of kids who run away into the forest and live inside a hollow tree. Adventures and excitement await. I'm afraid I can't remember much more but it was a long time ago. I still remember how good it made me feel though and how I built a small hut in the forest that summer.
Me and my wife still talks about it and now when we are adults and soon having our first child we want a DVD release so our child will be able to get see this wonderful series.
Constantine (2005)
Peter Stormare was great!
Keanu Reaves this and Keanu Reaves that, whatever way you turn it, Peter Stormare was great as usual...although his Cowboy English should have been replaced with his Swedish English, I kinda like the idea that the Devil is from Sweden. BTW, have you seen the opening scene in the first Blade movie? First the sprinkler, spraying everyone down and then he starts shooting everyone until only ashes remain...sounds familiar? Francis Lawrence has stolen this and a bunch of other cool scenes from other movies. He should have been more original and he could have skipped Keanu, but in the end Tilda Swinton and Rachel Weisz made this film watchable, even enjoyable.
The Grudge (2004)
Scared the s**t out of me!
I know that a lot of people would say that the American copy of The Ring is a much better horror movie and I agree BUT this film scared me so bad and I'm not alone. The Ring is more clever and more interesting but it doesn't scare me as much. I was sitting on needles the whole time and my girlfriend was covering her eyes most of the film. The Ring is better while build up the suspense and the ending is brilliant but even though I was scared, it couldn't scare me as much as that white face coming crawling down the stares or the scene with the sister...horrifying. The Grudge is by far the scariest film I have ever seen and I can't wait to see the original.
Minority Report (2002)
Come on people!
When I was checking the Top 100 list of movies I found this little piece of mediocre film amongst the top. This is an entertaining cinema movie, I agree, but far to soon the memory of it starts to fade. This movie has no story to tell, nothing sticks cause it's just special effects, cool action and cool actors but as far as sci-fi goes, it's not sci-fi enough and it's not really a thriller either...
As a swede, I appreciate the fact the Max von Sydow and Peter Stormare (and the swedish nurse, rambling things in swedish while Peter calls her a demented old hag) are in it, but not even that can possibly make this movie more than a see-once movie. I buy pretty much DVD's and this one will never find it's way to my library if it isn't for sale for $9.99 and I don't find anything else to buy.
I saw it, I kinda liked it, now I'm moving on, so should you all. If you want to watch a better film about future earth, watch Bladerunner instead, OK?
