300 (2006)
As a Greek I feel proud of the movie!
I am a Greek man who was born and lives in Greece. I studied our history in my early years and although the cultural and political habits of ancient Sparti (or Sparta in English) scare me a little (early warrior education, no food except of the black juice etc) the movie is a masterpiece! It didn't offend the Persians or provoke the Greek spirit. It is what it was supposed to be: 300 people against millions! I was so touched by the scenes of battle and the try (at least it was good!) of translating ancient Greek in English! ("I tan I epi tas" = be a winner or come lying on your shield, or " molon lave" = come and take them) Impressive, Astonishing, Touching, Real! Perfect 10!
S1m0ne (2002)
My perfect ten in cast!
What else to say? The cast was awesome and the performances are great too! Do we really need a 2nd Citizen Kane or Godfather to have a good time??? I think Pacino's performance was really funny and the script did a good work. I write all these because now that I have seen the movie after 3 years I have the DVD I realized how good it was. No fuss and fanfare but fun! Simply! Also I have to state that the Original Soundtrack and the Photography can be compared to that of films with much greater expectations and much deeper meanings - The presented I can say! See this movie with open mind and keeping in mind the present day's situation in Hollywood! Hollywood need to be sarcastic and Simone is the answer.
The Stepford Wives (2004)
not so bad, comparing to the rest
The movie attracts you from the beginning, actually from the promotional poster. Kidman is the real deal in every genre of a movie and good for us, she knows it. Bear in mind, for someone who hasn't see the original, that the movie belongs to a past decade's science fiction. The great performances of Bette Midler and Nicole Kidman, give the whole movie a fresh air. Sure all the cast has something to give and you come to the conclusion that you had spent enjoyably 88 minutes of your life, and you feel happy for that. Last but not least, stop this prejudice for commercial films. I had a great time and watching this "so-original-American-family" comedy gave me great time. A strict 8 out of 10 for the total result!
Happy Birthday (2002)
everyone should speak about...
I've seen the movie on a premiere night and the taste that I had after watching it was that I really saw the life, in 3 days, of 5 different people. The movie never really managed to be shown in Greece, not to mention Great Halls. But all the other commercial crap that I have seen 2 years after this film, make me believe that the movie factory is a game of advertising and here we have an unjustified looser. This movie never really had the super hero inside or the super actor or the super body or breasts inside. It was real life. Some might say that the acting was that of a soap opera. Major Mistake. What are we supposed to consider as acting? Good make-up tears and heart throbbing script? The film really deserved 10 out of 10 and the actors made me really believe that they felt their characters.

P.S. Hope to see it in DVD form, soon.
