Love it
8 January 2021
Amazing show, loved both seasons so far. Ignore some negative reviews on season 2, they are just silly and make no sense. Both seasons were highly entertaining.

Some messy ideas shouldn't become films
9 December 2020
Ignore the fake 9/10 and 10/10 reviews most likely coming from the actors. Tenet is a complete and utterly nonsense.

1) ridiculous plot; 2) impossible to follow, but not because of some complexity of the plot (it is quite simple) but because the plot is empty; 3) no character development; 4) boring dialogues; 5) actors obviously confused about what exactly they are playing, which makes it all even worse.

Not worth watching even once. Better to rewatch some movie you actually like.

Not a real movie
7 December 2020
It's so bad, I can't even consider THIS to be a movie.

The fake 9/10 star reviews from the "actors" who happened to be in this crap are simply disgusting and offensive.

My 3 year old kid got bored and wanted to leave the cinema!
9 March 2020
The first animated movie my little child didn't want to watch to the end, that's how boring it was. Our family stayed to the end, but none of us enjoyed it. My wife fell asleep and didn't even see the ending, and I wish I didn't either.

Shame on Disney.

Pure garbage
17 March 2019
The creators/producers of this movie, as well as the actors, should get professional psychological help. No mentally healthy individual would have spent one single min producing this pure garbage.

Bitter disappointment
25 December 2018
If you take a job of writing a movie script, start by developing a great story start, then procrastinate and write the remaining 90% of the story the night before submitting the script, that's how you get something like Hotel Aramis.

Plot holes so large, Saturn can go through
4 June 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I'm not picky on the story-plot holes, but I can't wrap up my mind around these: 1. The scientist who is trying to save the human race is portrayed as a villain. What a horrible person. 2. The only two successful test subjects are sent ... BACK HOME! 3. One of the test subjects is killed by security forces. Sure, why not. 4. ONLY ONE test subject is sent to Titan. How will he populate Titan?! By jerking off all by himself as much as possible?! 5. Not even a basic follow up message about the outcome of the mission / end of human race / etc.

Empty, yet dreadful and sadistic
24 June 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Isn't it ridiculous that our society went so far to be politically correct that it crossed the line of common sense? If you don't give an Oscar to a film that depicts slavery - you are a racist, if you say something positive about Palestine or Iran - you are anti-Semite, if you give a preference to a Caucasian over African American in the U.S. (based on the skills!) - you are a racist again, if you smile to a woman - you are sexually harassing her (wait, gay harassment is coming, so you won't be allowed to smile or make jokes to anyone!).

The story plot is quite simple: a free black man is sold to slavery and is later saved. But instead of making the movie multi-dimensional, deep and engaging, the story-tellers "communicate" the story through brutality and violence, as if someone on the face of the earth needs a proof that slavery was bad, and as if slaves were used nearly only as punching bags by sadistic white people.

Seriously, ask yourself: how many times can you re-watch this film? Will you be enjoying it after re-watching? Will you be re-watching it several times? There were several worthy movies nominated for Oscar this year (e.g. The Wolf of Wall Street or even Captain Phillips), but, no, lets be politically correct and avoid being labeled racists, lets give the Best Picture to a mediocre, sadistic film about slavery.

1 star for the acting, which still didn't save the film.

Nothing but offensive and toilet humor
19 June 2014
In his newest work, Seth MacFarlane made a desperate attempt to create a melting pot of whatever he could find related to Wild West and wrap it up in a humor that pushed the bar of what can be considered as toilet, racist and purely disgusting humor.

How such brilliant actors as Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson and Giovanni Ribisi even considered to be a part of this nonsense is beyond my comprehension. My guess would be they were also tricked into this, and didn't know the actual content of the film before it was too late and the contracts were signed.

This movie should be called "how to make a primitive, offensive, toilet level humor movie about nothing, make out several times with Charlize Theron and, eventually make money of this".

Empty, felt like a parody on Star Trek
29 May 2013
Warning: Spoilers
The days when Star Trek was about bold Sci-Fi ideas and originality are officially over.

Con's 1. The story is empty and boring. As if someone from the real-life Idiocracy world wrote and directed the whole movie.

2. Great cast, BUT for some reason surprisingly bad acting!! Chris Pine (Kirk) was overplaying, Zachary Quinto (Spock) was OK (but, hey, anyone can play poker-faced Spock, as long as the person's face features more or less match the old Spock's face), Karl Urban (Bones) was annoying, Simon Pegg (Scotty) was unconvincing and too artificial, others - almost invisible and totally unimpressive. Benedict Cumberbatch (Khan) was an interesting addition, though, after becoming recently famous in Sherlock (TV series).

3. It felt like everyone was TRYING HARD to make a parody on the old Star Trek series.

4. Movie almost randomly filled with special effects. It's like eating ANYTHING, including your shoe, when you are hungry, just to fill your stomach. That's how they tried to bury the empty story into special effects.

Pro's

1. Great special effects.

Prometheus (I) (2012)
10/10
Sci Fi masterpiece with sophisticated background
13 July 2012
Warning: Spoilers
The way Ridley connected all the dots: ancient legends, ancient astronaut theory, current ongoing search for Earth-like worlds and Aliens is truly amazing.

We get precious few big budget Sci Fi 'event' movies, and I think this was very decent. I'll take these sequels over Avatar 2 & 3 any day.

I loved Prometheus and am really excited about a sequel. Even though flawed, there really is nothing like it, and I would love to see where the Engineers come from. It's great to see Sci Fi exploring far off alien worlds instead of the usual action films set in a near future dystopia. Go Ridley!

Guinevere? Really?!
16 November 2011
Let me start by saying that the show is a totally lovely watch, and I can't think of any other so well suited for a family view.

There is one thing, though, that I think is really inappropriate, and which should be mentioned. I am talking about Guinevere.

Lets be honest:

(1) She is neither beautiful nor even pretty. It's hard to believe the same people who chose Katie McGrath to play Morgana, made such a poor choice for Guinevere.

(2) She looks quarter African, and her brother is definitely African. I totally understand and actually like the free interpretation of the Arthurian legends in "Merlin", but there should be some reasonable limits. Then why not make Guinevere, say, Japanese or Australian aborigine?! Or have some Indian actor portray Arthur?

(3) The chemistry between Guinevere and Arthur feels artificial. No sparkle or passion at all.

Stay Hungry (1976)

"Stay Hungry" - the meaning
29 January 2011
Most reviewers already described why the movie is definitely worth-watching, and they were completely right.

One thing, which was totally missed, was the meaning of "Staying Hungry". Those, who are acquainted with Arnold's career and his biography*, know that "staying hungry" was one of the main life-guidelines in his whole life. A strong-willed, persistent, goal-oriented perfectionist, who was fighting all his life and, guess what - he has won! Geez, people, stop looking at Arnold as just a Terminator and governor of CA - you have a great role-model right in front of you to learn from about how true persistence brings you to your goals.

* "FANTASTIC" is a MUST READ if you're looking for something truly inspiring and motivating "I don't want to get too comfortable. I'd rather stay hungry." Keep this in mind: a talent must be ALWAYS hungry.

P.S. As for all those sexual-abuse related scandals, come one - in most European countries it's absolutely normal to flirt and hit on women, compared to the U.S., where even an "inappropriate" look may get you in serious trouble, which is absolutely ridiculous. Look at most of celebrities world-wide and the stuff they are doing on daily basis! Arnold is an angel compared to them, plus consider what he has achieved in his life. As for steroids, nearly EVERYONE was using them those days, not something to really frown upon back then.

Greetings (and comments) from Germany
8 February 2010
1. After 8 years of taking losses on the German market, Mal-Mart quit, closing its 90 stores in the country. Why? Not efficient enough compared to German supermarkets. Believe it or not, Mal-Mart's prices were higher and quality lower than in German supermarkets.

2. Think of efficiency. If a store is more efficient than smaller stores and, thus, offers lower prices, the smaller stores should step down. Free market economy, right? Subsidizing smaller inefficient businesses by keeping Wal-Mart away is not the solution. Buy and read some books on basics of market economy. It's all about specialization. Whoever is not efficient at something, should do some other job.

3. Americans are very proud of their special democracy, capitalism and freedom, but only in words. If the country belongs to you, why can't you change anything?! Corporations control the whole country without any serious regulations. Learn from some European countries. Or from Canada.

3. Stop buying in Wal-Mart if you really care about your community. Is Wal-Mart forcing people to buy products in its stores? You like low prices, but don't like the consequences? Decision-making requires the sense of responsibility.

4. If Wal-Mart employees don't like the company SO much, then why work there?! If you can't find any other work, then it's YOUR problem. Can't find any work in local community - look in other cities/places/states. Grow up. Think in advance of a proper education, professional skills and future.

5. Watch the South Park episode on Wal-Mart.

6. The scene in China is irrelevant, just because 99% of all companies in China work EXACTLY the same way.

Before Sunset (2004)

Artificial, unrealistic, even boring... Please read why.
21 July 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Am i the only one who doesn't find this movie "one of the best ever filmed"?! "Amazing acting, incredible story, perfect chemistry, true love..." Did these people actually watch the movie? First of all, the acting was too artificial (though i'm a big fan of Ethan Hawke, who played in two true masterpieces: "The dead poets society" and "Gattaca") and i'm not sure if it's the actors or the director to blame for that.

About the story/plot. Two strangers meet in a foreign country, quickly develop a perfect chemistry and instantly fall in love with each other (all in 1 day)? Give me a break. There might be only some passion, and passion caused exclusively by a new romantic environment (Vienna, Paris, what's next - Venice?!). There is even a classical case in psychology when two people meet on an emotionally exciting and romantic vacation, madly "fall in love". But even if they manage to get their relationship on a different level, date and live together in one of their home countries, they soon realize they are not really so much connected, and that all the wonderful chemistry was only due to the exciting vacation and the temporary high emotional level. A true love is when two people really know each other, care about each other, work hard and long on their relationship, share many positive and negative moments of their life with each other. And not when two strangers talk only about themselves the whole movie (did you actually notice that?)! Let's be honest: what happens on a vacation can only be characterized ether as a "one-night-stand" or maximum some attraction. I really feel sorry for people who call THIS love, for they surely have never experienced true love in their lives.

And one more thing. People change over several years, and they change a lot. Those two characters could not simply remain the same and keep their mutual attraction over all those years at the same level. You have to be absolutely inexperienced in life to seriously consider this movie to be in any way a realistic love story. By the way, the same applies to the 1st movie - "Before sunrise".
