Expats (2023)
Fantastic! Loved it!
Stellar performances and thoughtful storytelling. So interesting, I felt like each episode was a mini movie. It felt like I was transported to another place, and gave me a sense of what Hong Kong was like as well as the people who live there. The portrayal of each character was so realistic, and I was never bored. Yes Nicole Kidman is a bit distracting with her facial features, like others have said. But why are we focusing on that?? Surely, the fact that the main female character is not a perfect beauty, shouldn't be a reason to not like a show. The stories are both heart breaking and uplifting at the same time. Highly recommend!
Scenes from a Marriage (2021)
Phenomenal! Powerful!
A master class in acting. So real and raw, I can't stop thinking about it. Wow. Just wow.
Deux frères (2004)
Great family film for everyone
I took my two daughters (4 and 7) to see this and we all loved it!
My 4 year old loved all the scenes with the tigers although was a little bored at times but my oldest was enthralled. This movie reminds me of the animal films I saw as a kid, like "Born Free". These were movies that had real sadness in them that moved you. And it's a happy ending anyway. A great ending, I thought. A lot of the comments here say it was disturbing. I guess it depends on how sensitive you or your child might be. I can see how it might be upsetting if they thought it was all real. I would still definitely recommend it!
Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi (2001)
Fantastic movie
I really loved this movie. Definitely not your typical animated show. I can't wait till it comes out on video/dvd because I definitely want a copy! Both my kids really enjoyed it too although my 3 year old was scared in some scenes. So was my 6 year old for that matter. That's the only negative thing I can say about it. It was so imaginative and beautiful to look at!
