The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
Just Fantastic
Well, I've seen this movie about 3 times, twice in theatres and once on DVD.
I loved it. I never read the books, but I do believe from what I've heard that the movie was very well orchestrated to bring to life the very essence of the book. I know it was a bit long, but it was worth the special effects and great acting. I myself am trying to get into the business so I know how much dedication and hard work it takes. But this movie is not for the people with bladder problems, as I said, it's LONG. But if your like me you already have the extended edition on reserve from Suncoast Video. But if you just got over seeing a horribly bad movie like Terror Toons, then this will balance out the void that the movie created.
Star Wars (1977)
This is what classics are
I first saw this movie (or at least as far as I can remember) when i was about 4. It wasn't until I was about 8 that I really got into the whole saga. I have to say #4 isn't my favorite of the films, but it is the one that started the greatest sci fi epic ever. I think for it's time the special effects were magnificent. And the acting was done by REAL actors from back in the day. Now a days all I seem to see coming up in the thespian ranks are pretty boys and girls with fake boobs. What happened. Anyways, i think everyone should watch this movie at least once. If your not "enlightened" by it you'll at least be entertained by a few good humor spots.
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)
A good extraction
I thought LOTRTFTR (Lord of the Ring The Fellowship of the Ring) was an accurate overview of the book itself. Although some details were left out, the movie turned out to be quite a show.
I thought there was a transition throughout the movie. LOTRTFTR started out bright and full of life, this of course being with the shire. As the movie goes on I noticed it turning into a sort of roleplaying game, for we are always following Frodo's story. That's what most of the book is about as well, but it would have been nice to branch off into the other characters' stories as well but the movie would have been too long i suppose. Towards the end of the movie i thought it got quite dark and hopeless and the ending wasnt one that i would have chosen to cut back on in length, even though the book ended in a like wise manner, i would have prefered if the writers added a little bit more to it.
Over all i think this movie is worth its time in watching value, very good visuals and excellent sounds make this movie a standard for fantasy movies to come.
