Dream House (2011)
Terrible movie
I enjoy all three actors in this film separately, and thought them coming together would make for an interesting picture. I was sorely disappointed. The movie was slow and not suspenseful. The only suspense was waiting for the movie to get more interesting (which it didn't). The first half of the movie seemed like they had filmed too much material and then clumsily pieced it together. My partner and I figured out the plot a fair bit in advance of the turn referenced in the main review and then waited for something to happen which never did. The movie had an abrupt and terrible ending making me think the producer/studio probably ran out of money and couldn't afford or be bothered to try to make it better...that they had realized how bad the movie was and they may as well just release it to try to recoup some of their losses. The actual end of the movie after the narrative peak (small as it may have been) was probably one of the most clumsily attempted Hollywood wrap-everything-up / feel-good endings I've seen in a long time...I actually think they did this so that the audience wouldn't feel angry at how bad the movie was. Whoever directed and produced this should be ashamed.

Excellent kids show
I'm not one to baselessly promote a product, but after watching this show (and watching it repeatedly), I was thoroughly impressed. I have temporarily passed on my copy to friends who had kids and then purchased additional DVDs to share with family and friends. I suspect I won't be getting my personal copy back so I will be investing in another. The songs are catchy and the humour reaches out to a wide range of audiences, making it not just a pleasant and painless show to watch with the children, but a surprisingly enjoyable experience. I would readily watch this show over any other kids show on TV at the moment and, as my TV is glued to Family or YTV about 90% of the day, believe me, I wish this could be the case.

Extremely talented anti-war film
This war breaks down the boundaries of nationalism and patriotism that litter 99% of the war movies that flood the market today. It is an absolute must see both for the content and how it is filmed. It is a story carved out of a real situation that occurred during the war, which also forces a better appreciation of the film.
One particularly striking element of the film that I would highlight is the dialogue, which moves seamlessly from English, to French, to German. This is an incredible attention to detail and has a remarkable impact on the realistic aspects of the film. I've quite possibly never seen language used so potently.
