Ghostboat (2006)
It's not that good either.
With David Jason as the lead and also one of the producers, I expected a lot more than I got when watching this. The first half was pretty good and promised an intriguing finale, but the second part descended into a confused and unconvincing mess where the crew weren't the only ones to wonder what was going on. I got the feeling that some rather heavy-handed editing had occurred, both with the plot and the final production. There were glaring anomalies in the story line and the original theory of how the sub had reappeared after being missing for forty-odd years was completely ignored at the end (apart from a brief display of mysterious lightning).
Last Man Standing (1996)
Clint Eastwood, where are you now?
Am I the only one that thought this was a (bad) remake of 'A Fistful Of Dollars'?
The whole plot was a complete rip-off of the original Eastwood movie. Sadly, most of the acting was wooden. The whole thing relied upon implausible scenes of violence and off-the-shelf characterisation. Bruce Dern's homage to Chester (Gunsmoke) was not worthy of either of them. And as for Christopher Walken's psychopathic Hickey - he would probably have been more scary as an ice cream salesman.
All in all, a bit of a disappointing movie.
And where did Bruce Willis get all those bullets?
Moulin Rouge! (2001)
A stunning visual extravaganza
Not being a great musicals fan, I didn't expect to be overly impressed by Moulin Rouge. However, from the opening scene it was clear that this was no ordinary musical. The sometimes overwhelming mix of colour, sound and psychedelic imagery was just fantastic. A tour de force of imagination, glorious photography and brilliant set-pieces.
You'll either love it or hate it - but don't pre-judge it. Go see for yourself.
