The Whale (2022)
Hard Watch but Deeply Moving
The Whale is a very hard watch, but truly one of the best movies of the year.
Like everyone else has said, Brendan Fraser is absolutely phenomenal and gives one of the most emotional and moving performance I have ever seen on screen. Brendan deserves every award and it's so nice to see him back!
The rest of the cast was great as well and everyone carried a lot of complex emotion.
Basically the entire movie takes place inside Charlie's apartment and there are only about 6 people in the entire cast.
If you'd re looking to see a movie that will make you feel something and take you on an emotional roller coaster then this is the one!
The Gray Man (2022)
Really Fun Action-Packed Movie
If you are looking for a fun action movie that will keep you entertained the whole way through then this is your movie!
I see a lot of self-proclaimed IMDb critics ripping this movie for different reasons, but not every movie is supposed to win an Academy Award and not everyone should be a critic.
Grab some popcorn and enjoy this exciting and fast-paced action movie where Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas, and Chris Evans all play really fun characters.
The Mitchells vs the Machines (2021)
Best Animated Film of the year
All I can say is that movie was really great. It was funny, heartwarming, and action-packed.
I watched a lot of movies this year and this one was my favorite. It hits a bullseye with its family dynamic which really highlighted the generation difference between parent and child.
The story tells the story of a creative child who's parents don't really understand her passion for film-making, which is something I feel a lot of families encounter.
The movie is a roller-coaster of emotions, but leaves you feeling very optimistic about life and just makes you want to go hug yo ur parent/child.
Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet: A Dark Quiet Death (2020)
Surprise of an episode
Mythic Quest has intrigued me from the beginning with its accurate depictions if gaming culture and game development.
This episode was wish a great departure from the main story and really helped established what goes into making a game with out telling the story of mythic quest.
I was not expecting an episode so touching and emotional (almost felt like an episode of Black Mirror) to come in the middle.
Middleditch & Schwartz (2020)
Middleditch and Schwartz are improv gods
If you are interested in seeing how improv looks at its peak, this is the place. These two guys are able to take a two minute story and turn it into an hour long show without missing a single piece of info. They create 5-10 characters they they will interchange and switch between throughout the show which is absolute magic. Couldn't recommend this show any higher.
