Meet the Fockers (2004)
Juvenile Humour
It's hard to believe some very famous actors would star in this movie. This flick is almost entirely breast and penis humour. What about the little dog that humps anything it get a hold of? If I were 10 or 12 years old I probably would find this movie funny or cool. Well I'm not in my teens or 20's any longer. There were a few good moments in this film but they are outweighed by the breast and penis jokes. The "signing" baby's funny moments are all dealing with breasts and breast milk, farting or pooping. The character that I believe most people would side with is male nurse Greg Focker (Ben Stiller).
Canada's warning on the DVD says not recommended for children and Crude Content. This is a great movie for a five year old to sneak a look at.
Domestic Disturbance (2001)
Weak Ending
I liked this movie but I found the ending weak. You're hoping the step-father will be stopped but the ending is a disappointment. The way this movie was going I may have considered giving it a rating of eight. Now I feel I am being generous by giving it a six.
The 6th Day (2000)
Interesting For The First Hour
I thought I was really going to like The 6th Day. After the first hour my interest was waning. It probably would have made a very good 100 minute movie. I was in the mood for a very good sci-fi flick but this didn't turn out to be the one. The truck with the auto pilot and the virtual girlfriend were interesting but there just wasn't enough emphasis on "gadgets" to keep me interested.
The Beatles Anthology (1995)
Worth The Wait - Lives Up To The Hype
ABC Television had hours of commercials and countdowns to The Beatles Anthology. When their mini version appeared on TV it was worth the wait. I couldn't wait for the 10 hour box set to become available. As soon as it hit the store shelves I was in line with my copy. For non fans, the five hours of televised Anthology would be enough. For real fans, of course you have already purchased the eight volume set.
Help! (1965)
35 Year Old Movie But Still Love It
This movie always takes me back to when I first saw it in the theater in the summer of 1965. I was a very big Beatle fan but was only ten years old, so when I spent my little bit of money that I had to see this movie; I loved it even more.
This movie is not just for Beatle fans. It's a film or video your entire family can watch. Viewing this movie may even make some Beatle converts.
Let It Be (1970)
Saw it in 1970
I was 15 years old when I saw Let It Be in a theatre. I sat through it twice. At the time most of the songs were new to me. Being a diehard fan I enjoyed the movie in the theatre and when it appeared on television. When it is re-released on video, I'll be one of the first to buy it.
