Bosnian war drama As If I Am Not There received three Ifta awards for Best Film, Director and Script for the film's Irish writer/director Juanita Wilson at tonight's Ifta awards, celebrating the Irish film and television industry.
Martin MCCann was named Best Actor for 'Swansong - Story of Occi Byrn', while Amy Huberman was got Best Actress for 'Rewind.'
Pierce Brosnan and Saorise Ronan took home the supporting honours at the awards with Brosnan winning Best Supporting Actor for his role in 'The Ghost', while Ronan's part in The Way Back earned her the supporting actress honour.
In the international categories, 'The Social Network' won the best international film, with its star Jesse Eisenberg winning Best Actor. Annette Bening took Best Actress for 'The Kids Are All Right'.

Feature film 'Cup Cake' has been awarded the Audience Award at this year's Belfast Film Festival. The Northern Ireland Screen funded project is directed by Colin McIvor and stars Adam Best (Holby City). 'Cup Cake' was selected by Northern Ireland Screen as part of their Ultra Low Budget Fiction Fund. The feature, which filmed Ballymoney, County Antrimm is written by Christine Murphy (Doctors), produced by Katy Jackson (Charlotte's Red) and directed by Colin McIvor (Driven) with Cian de Buitlear (Man About Dog) as the project's director of photography using a HD cam on the four-week long shoot.

Northern Ireland Screen has announced that Colin McIvor was unanimously selected as director with Katy Jackson as producer of this year's Northern Ireland Screen Initiative, with their film 'Wee Buns'. The film, which will be executively produced by Chris Martin, is currently in the stages of pre-production. McIvor and Jackson are working alongside the writer of the comedy script, Christine Murphy, and are due to start principal photography in October 2009.
