In the smallest of small towns, Jerry (Ryan Reynolds) is the enthusiastic, socially awkward newbie in the packing division of a bathroom manufacture. Behind this innocent facade lurks a dormant, damaged mind waiting for a spark.
Work brings Jerry in contact with the office hottie – Fiona (Gemma Arterton). However, she’s evidently way out of his league. A point he discusses at home with his talking pets: the loyal dog Bosco and angry, scottish cat Mr Whiskers. This is a brilliant, underhand way to introduce Jerry’s illness. Reynolds plays it straight to get the most comic effect out of: Bosco, who always tries to convince Jerry he can be a good man; and Mr Whiskers...

Its been nearly five years in the making but things are finally coming together for the full-length feature adaptation of Jay Baruchel and Seth Rogen's viral comedy short "Jay And Seth Vs. The Apocalypse," which featured the two as degenerate roommates living in squalor during an apocalypse.
Soon after the short landed online, Mandate Pictures jumped on board for the full-length version and, since then, things have only evolved further with Jonah Hill, James Franco, Craig Robinson, Danny McBride and Aziz Ansari all confirmed as fellow survivors in what will be Rogen and producing/writing partner Evan Goldberg's directorial debut. The film now looks to have settled on a new title with the previously shortened moniker "The Apocalypse" replaced by "The End Of The World," according to BoxOfficeMojo.
The film's plot itself has changed over time as well with the apocalypse now hitting during a party at Franco's...

Following swiftly on the heels of Nathan Fillion's casting as the swift-heeled Hermes, Anthony Stewart Head has been cast as Chrion in Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters. Yes, the man who played Giles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and King Uther Pendragon in Merlin is returning to the fantasy genre once again. This makes two Whedonverse actors cast in the movie so far, both in roles recast from the first movie. Nathan Fillion is replacing Dylan Neal, and Anthony Stewart Head is replacing Pierce Brosnan, arguably proving once and for all that Rupert Giles beats James Bond. (By the way, if Judi Dench ever retires from the role: Anthony Stewart Head for M. Just saying.)
Of course, there could be any number of reasons for Percy Jackson 2’s recasting, including scheduling, budget, and cast chemistry. Or maybe the filmmakers are just toying with us. Awesomely.

In honour of Joss Whedon’s birthday yesterday (Numfar! Do the Dance of Honour!), Shadowlocked presents a list of twenty-three suggestions for where Joss Whedon could go from here.
While Whedon’s had deserved cult success up to this point, The Avengers is his chance to really break into the mainstream and hopefully get the levels of success that his talent deserves. With great box office will surely come great opportunities. Warren Ellis said that after The Avengers, Joss Whedon would be able to print his own money. Come to think of it, that would be awesome, with a picture of Joss’ face on it (which non-geeks wouldn’t recognise, and then we could educate them!), and a quote like “Grr Argh!” or one of literally hundreds (and probably thousands) of others. And we could do the Dance of Capitalist Superiority every time we spent it.

As one of the most iconic actors ever to emerge from England, Anthony Head really is the definition of a true great. Comedy, drama, live theatre – Head has done it all, bringing his classic style of acting to each and every role. Best known as Rupert Giles in the Joss Whedon vampire classic Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Head has since diversified into other areas of acting. In recent years, he's guest starred in Doctor Who, found success as the Prime Minister in Little Britain, and at present is portraying Uther in the BBC's smash hit Merlin.

Will Smith has decided to produce and star in The Legend of Cain.
Why? Because he's looking to monopolize the market on "Legend" films. Or because the writer is Caleeb Pinkett. Or just because he can.
What is it? A retelling of the biblical story of Cain and Abel.
Well that sounds a little weird, Is it something people would go see? Oh. I forgot to mention it's going to have vampires.
Sold.
The story is pretty old. Adam and Eve have Cain and Abel. Cain gets jealous. Cain kills Abel. How do vampires fit in? I'm a little foggy on that detail but if 12 years of going to Lutheran school is ever going to pay off it'll be now. I'm theorizing that they'll say the "Mark" that God placed upon Cain will be his vampirism.
I'm not entirely sure whose blood he'll be sucking but I'm reminded of Rod...
