Nathan is getting married and he's left his four friends to plan his bachelor party. But what Z-Bob thinks is a fool-proof plan to a wild night in Vegas, ends up as a chase across Vegas in what would be a weekend they would never forget. Written by FilmFanUk
The wave of straight-to-DVD sex comedies that has been flooding video stores for the last decade reminds me of a lot of the whole slasher boom back in the 1980s: both genres look incredibly easy to make, but both genres are pretty hard to get completely right. They're also both easy to distribute and thus alluring to less gifted filmmakers, and God have we been learning that the hard way. "Bachelor Party Vegas" is one of those typical movies by people who've seen stuff like "American Pie" and "Porky's", but drew completely wrong conclusions from them. Yeah I love disgusting humor, but I also love interesting (though not even necessarily complex) characters, coherent stories and actors that look like they want to be there. The crude humor is supposed to be icing on the cake, not the sole reason the movie exists. Ten minutes into this movie I had already seen dildos, penis cream, nudie mags, porn flicks, a foul-mouthed grandma, an elderly stripper and a nude fat guy who humps the entire cast. The phrase "tries too hard" doesn't even begin to cover it. The movie does get gradually better throughout, but better is still nowhere near good. It's nice that eventually they do create some kind of plot and even put in a genuinely clever twist, but as far as laughs go I still counted about zero. I guess overall "Bachelor Party Vegas" is probably not the worst in its genre, which is about the nicest thing I can say about it.
