the second cut is the deepest
trashgang18 February 2009
This second part is how producers could shown that they made a big mistake by getting actors who couldn't act, or directors who couldn't direct. They learned from that. This is part two and much much better than part one. It starts of with a dream, you are immediately in the movie. When the killer appears they only made one mistake with the chainsaw. Watch close when you see it penetrating Jason, you could easily see the mistake, anyway, I thought, o no, not again a bad movie. But then we get to learn the persons, this time they could act, they are less shameless, the girls I mean, than in the first part where they wear underwear that made you go aaaaaaaaaarghhhhhh. The score is better, editing is better, effects are better, there is more blood and more gore in it, decapitations, mutilations, full frontal nudity, first person views, it got all the ingredients to make it a good slasher. And there are a few plots in it that you couldn't suspect. For a low budget one it is surely watchable. Unavailable here in Europe, you really have to buy it in Australia like I did, maybe in the states. One of the franchises that is better then the first part, buy it.

Not as bad as you might think (spoilers)
jerronspencer28 September 2004
Warning: Spoilers
'What am I doing with this hockey mask? Why, nothing, officer.' For a wonder, this movie was really not that bad.

****SPOILER****

At a camp by a lake, several camp counselors are stalked by a vicious killer. When even the police don't believe them, how will anyone survive? The killer, Jason Voorhees...no, wait. That was the other camp massacre movie. Anyway, the killer kills, the young people die, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Overall, a fair film that had very moody lighting and decent camera work. Acting and dialog were passing fair. Ch-ch-ch. Wa-wa-wa.

Tiffany Shepis + some gore help elevate this above the original.
capkronos7 January 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Then again, saying this movie is better than the first is like saying Son-In-Law is a better Pauly Shore movie than Jury Duty. It's still pretty awful.

Whiny blonde virgin Tracy (Katy Woodruff) takes a job as a camp counselor at Camp Placid Pines, where her brother Jason had disappeared five years earlier. Smart move there, sister! Aside from being plagued by bad dreams and having to fend off the annoying sexual advances of her impatient horn dog boyfriend Mike (Kelly Gunning), she and the others end up being stalked and killed off one by one by someone disguised as famous local masked murderer Trevor Moorehouse. They should have listened to Juanita the cook, who lives in such fear of the local urban legend that she waits three days before the camp closes to high tail it outta there.

First of all, Part II is better than the first film and three-fourths of the entertainment value is contributed by up-and-coming Scream Queen Tiffany Shepis, who easily gives the best acting performance and provides all of the film's nudity (in the shower, in a car, in the woods…). Unlike the original Bloody Murder, this one actually delivers some gore. We get legs cut off, a head smashed with a rock, a chainsaw through a stomach, an arrow through a neck, a head split open with a machete and more. But Tiffany and the gore cannot make one overlook the awful acting and horrid script, which includes some stupid SCREAM-inspired dialog (the black character talking about how he'll get killed first) and tries to put blame on obvious sources (the camp owner, the horny boyfriend, etc.) before pulling the identity of the mystery killer out of thin air at the end. Ugh. Talk about a cheat.

It Didn't Suck...
ajbo24 May 2003
Ok, JUST rented this and found it to be SO much better than the first one. The people in this one actually could act and not only that, but they had REASONS for going somewhere, unlike some people who would just out of NOWHERE say "Oh, i forgot the map, i'll go back and get it" while they are walking through the woods. I mean come on! But this was a BIG step up, and it wasnt the GREATEST but it was pretty good.

Its about this girl Tracy, whos brother Jason was killed five years ago at Placid Pines, why Tracy goes there to work, is beyond me. But anyway, they have to close camp for the Winter, until Trevor Moorehouse comes along and starts offing them one by one.

I think this entire thing worked out fairly well. The characters werent as paper thin as in the first, and you learned to ACTUALLY kind of care for them in the end. And finally for once, the slut or African American didnt

die first! The blood and gore was definitly there, as opposed to the original, where it had...nothing.

The acting was pretty average, the only exception being that retarded guy James or whatever his name is, when he started screaming like a five year old girl, i couldnt wait for his ass to die! As for the rest they did pretty well, especially Tiffany Shepis who did a good job as the slut, i wish i knew everyone elses real name, i could say a lot more. But everyone else did a good job for first time actors, they were actually believeable.

Overall the movie was well worth the rental fee. Disregard ever watching the first and just read reviews or plot outlines of it, youll get the gist of it fairly quick. Then go out and rent this, its definitely worth it after such a horrible original to start off.

I give Bloody Murder 2: Closing Camp a 8/10

An Improvement From Part One, And That's Not Saying Much.
drownsoda9026 May 2006
"Bloody Murder 2: Closing Camp" is another unneeded sequel to an extremely bad film, one of the worst I think I've seen. The original "Bloody Murder" was such a terrible film I could hardly bear to finish the dang thing, it was unbearable. Why did I rent part 2, you ask? I don't really know. I suppose I couldn't find anything better to rent, so I gave it a try. And, as anticipated, it was awful. But I will say it was an improvement on the dreadful original, ever so slightly, but it was. I was a bit surprised by that as well.

The basic plot outline is the same, Trevor Moorehouse (sound like Jason Voorhees, anyone?) terrorizing teens at a summer camp. Nothing new or fresh, same old thing. Another ripoff of "Friday the 13th", just like the first one was. I will say the effects in this movie were slightly better though, the killings were more convincing (but still bad) and the acting was a smidge better. They throw some nudity into this one, which was unneeded and the result was actually kind of gross because the girl wasn't attractive at the least. Even still, none of these minor strong points can make up for the mess that this entire series is. The acting, for one, was still very poor. It felt like I was watching a soap opera (just as I felt during the original), and it was beyond unbelievable. Second, the script. It's the same story as the original, which was a blatant rip-off of a handful of horror classics. Where's the originality? Well, it ain't here!

The bottom line is that the "Bloody Murder" series is a slew of cheap horror flicks that rip off classic horror movies to the extreme, "Friday the 13th" most prominently. They are poorly made, have bad acting, bad scripts, a dreadful story that is almost complete plagiarism, and are nothing new at all. Avoid this series, you will thank me. 2/10.

The only thing scary about this movie is the fact that it's worse than the original.
Zombified_66024 August 2005
Warning: Spoilers
A while back I picked up Bloody Murder in a supermarket for 3 of my English pounds. It was a choice that I didn't entirely regret, as the film killed 90 otherwise useless minutes on a rainy day, but had I spent more on it I might have been a bit more peeved. Bloody Murder was godawful teen trash, and probably one of the worst films I've had the displeasure of watching to boot. It's only just better than Alienator and Killjoy, such is it's pants-ness.

Therefore, it came as a shock to find that Bloody Murder 2 was even worse. Bad lighting, awful acting and for god sake will someone find the slutty bimbo girl some clothes, she ugly! Aargh. I find it worrying how little it matters to the world in general how badly you make a horror movie provided it has a naked woman in it somewhere. Doesn't even have to be an attractive one. Anyhow, my aggro at the genre's more suspect foibles aside, Bloody Murder 2 succeeds in being one of the most laughably inept movies I've seen this year, eclipsing the aforementioned crock that was its predecessor by a mile.

It has a lot of really crippling problems, but let me detail some of the ones that really consign it to the circular file: Firstly, it blows its best kill in the opening half-hour, which makes the rest seem dull (seeing someone have their legs cut off and then get their head caved in with a rock will have that effect, after all). Secondly, it's full of naff soulless non-personalities that seemingly have no part to play in the plot, like ponytail girl, who seems to exist purely to turn up in a scene then get knocked out. Then the last one, the most infuriating out of the lot, the night scenes (i.e. 80% of the damn movie) are so poorly lit and filmed that it'd take the entire contents of the Batcave to decipher them.

Bottom line is, this movie is total utter trash. If it was possible to solidify suck into a plastic like substance and make a disc out of it, hell I think you'd probably get this movie. It is one of the worst horror movies ever made.

For hardcore Tiffany Shepis fans ONLY
movieman_kev7 July 2004
Young adults in camp, masked killer, yada yada yada...Thankfully, I didn't see the first Bloody Murder, but the horrid buzz on it, coupled with the fact that it was directed by the supremely untalented Ralph Portiloo doesn't make me want to watch it anytime soon. The main reason I sat through this one was because of Tiffany Shepis, and I wouldn't mind if she came to my house to personally thank me for having to sit through this mind-blowingly stupid little film. The first murder will please some gore-fans, and it's always nice to see the Shepis "twins", but the film really isn't worth the time. Further the ending is among the stupidest things I've ever seen.

My Grade: D

Eye Candy: Tiffany Shepis gets fully nude multiple times

Never saw the first...
preppy-329 July 2004
...but I heard it's dreadful. This one isn't much good either.

A bunch of annoying camp counselors are closing down a summer camp for the winter. A masked killer suddenly shows up and starts killing them off one by one. Who is it and why?

The movie has its good points--it's pretty well directed; the script isn't TOO bad and the murder scenes are VERY gory, brutal and scary. That's about it for compliments.

That aside the movie is atrociously sexist--there is a pointless shower sequence and sex scene in which the women's breasts are shown constantly (in closeup no less). Meanwhile next to nothing is shown by the guys. I'm sick and tired of filmmakers throwing pointless female nudity in a film. This might shock them but not EVERY male viewer wants to see that. I see a horror film to be scared--not have nudity rubbed in my face. It's degrading. If you're going to show it on the girls why not show what the guys have? Be an equal opportunity sexist! That aside the movie is slow-moving, the acting is lousy (with Kelly Gunning as Mike being the worst) and the final chase with the killer after the final girl goes on FOREVER!

So I've seen worse but I've definetely seen better. The appalling sexism in this really got to me. I give it a 3.

A big improvement
blurnieghey10 August 2021
It's hard to imagine why anyone would want to make a sequel to a piece of garbage like the first picture, but for some reason they did and, happily, it is much better than the first one. It's amazing what a little nudity and gore will do to improve an otherwise unoriginal slasher flick, but it looks like the producers had enough sense to go for the lowest common denominator on this one with the result of a watchable, albeit generic, slasher flick. Nothing to rave about and the ending is totally stupid, but it delivers the goods for what movies like this are intended for.

"Needless to say we're dealing with a homicide." Not too bad if taken for what it is.
poolandrews1 January 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Bloody Murder 2: Closing Camp is again set in 'Camp Placid Pines' deep in the isolated wilderness of rural America 5 years after the original Bloody Murder (2000). Teenage camp counsellors Michael (Kelly Gunning), Elvis (Raymond Novarro Smith), Ryan (Tom Mullen), Sophie (Amanda Magarian), Angela (Tiffany Shepis) & the troubled Tracy (Katy Woodruff) have just spent the summer working at the camp & together with the boss Rick (Arthur Benjamin) they just need to lock the camp down for the winter before they go home. Tracy happens to be the sister of Jason (Tyler Sedustine) whose body was never found after the gruesome events of 5 years previous. One night round a log fire the story of psycho Trevor Moorhouse is told, an outsider in the group James (Lane Anderson) scoffs at the tale & after having a practical joke played on him decides to split. That is until he runs into a machete wielding, mask wearing psycho who chops both of his legs off then smashes his head in with a rock. Has Trevor Moorhouse returned for revenge once again? What dark secrets do the counsellors hide? Is everyone who they appear to be? As the body count begins to rise who will survive...

Directed by Rob Spera I actually thought Bloody Murder 2: Closing Camp was alright. The script by John R. Stevenson (who also penned the original) plays almost exactly like the original, the game of bloody murder in the wood which ends in a practical joke, the teenage counsellors, the jealous boyfriend being suspected & arrested, the double twist ending, the sequel driven climax & originality is just not a word you can use in conjunction with Bloody Murder 2: Closing Camp. Having said that it's a better all round film than the first by quite a distance, thankfully this time there are no off-screen murders & unlike the original they're pretty gory. The dialogue is a lot better & doesn't go down the Scream (1996) route of having lots of in-jokes, homages & taking the mickey out of itself. The character's turn out to be the expected clichés, the innocent girl, the jealous boyfriend, the annoying practical joker, the token black character & the slutty one. It at least tries to have some connection to the original & follow on with the mystery surrounding what happened to Jason but it doesn't really go anywhere. As expected Bloody Murder 2: Closing Camp rips-off just about every slasher you can think of in some way but the murder mystery elements work well again & manage to maintain ones interest, the ending is a bit silly but sort of cool.

Director Spera does a much better job here than Ralph Portillo did on the first, Spera actually films the stalking & murder scenes at night which instantly gives it more tension & atmosphere. The decision to change the hockey mask was also a good one as our murderer in this looks completely different & far more effective. By the way Rob, I don't care what you say if you get into a car & there's a dead body in the back seat you would notice it OK? The violence & gore is also a welcome addition, a guy has both his legs chopped off & his head caved in, someone has a machete implanted in their face, there's a gory slit throat, someone gets a chainsaw shoved through them & someone gets an arrow through his neck. Unlike the original there is both nudity & sex, just like all good slashers should have.

Obviously made-for-video & shot on video rather than film Bloody Murder 2: Closing Camp is generally well made considering the budget must have been low. The video transfer gives it a slightly cheap look but the special effects are good & the acting isn't too bad either, surprisingly.

Bloody Murder 2: Closing Camp is a decent little slasher film with a fairly good whodunit mystery element that is lacking from many slashers. Surprisingly good & worth a watch for horror fans as long as you have reasonable expectations.

Young adults are killed on a camp ground.
jmbo-jons15 January 2006
This movie was bad. i have seen my share of copy-cat films of "Friday the 13th" and this one is the most obvious about it; even resorting down to using a hockey mask for the killer. the killings are not good and the plot is even worse. this movie is an insult "Friday the 13th". i own this movie and feel that no one should pay full price for this movie like i did.

i have not seen the first "Bloody Murder", but a close friend of mine said that it is no better then the second. do not go through the trouble of getting or watching this movie unless you want to fall asleep like i did.

Better than the first...in a lot of ways!
bfan8327 April 2004
Warning: Spoilers
Yes, this movie was better than the first. Way better. Let's just start off by saying that it has Tiffany Shepis in it. A very beautiful and talented actress. Undoubtely the next scream queen. This film also had a higher body count and lots more gore and the acting was actually better. Well, except for the lead actress. She whined too much. And in this one, the killer was harder to guess until the last half hour. It had way more suspense and better looking girls and guys. But I have to express one gripe, though. POSSIBLE SPOILERS! In the beginning, during the campfire scene, a girl is telling the others how the lead girl's brother disappeared up there last summer and then she says, five years ago, there was a series of murders and Jason's( the brother) body was never found. I mean, come on, script continuity error there. It's pretty obvious. Next time, try and make sense of what you're writing. But still, an overall good slasher flick. I give it an 8!

If you enjoyed the first film, you can't go wrong with this one.
Crazyfarts3 June 2006
It's been five years since Trevor Moorehouse terrorized Camp Placid Pines, piling up bodies like cords of wood and now he returns! Coming to Placid Pines is difficult for Tracy, who's brother, Jason, was one of Trevor's victims near the end of the original. When Tracy's nightmares begin to come true as one by one the counselors are murdered. Someone is hunting them through the pitch-black forest and is determined to kill them all.

After hearing about how bad the first movie is supposed to be, it made me want to see them. You know, to see how bad they really were. I had never gotten the chance to see the first Bloody Murder movie until recently though I had seen Bloody Murder 2 last year. Now that I have seen both I can compare them to one another. This sequel is a step-up in every single way possible compared to its first movie. The killer looks cooler, the acting is better (but still not all that good), the atmosphere is a better (mostly at night time) and they've toned down the many ideas which were stolen from other movies.

Even though this film seems like your typical, low-budget slasher movie there's something about Trevor Moorehouse that kept me thinking. I still don't know if it was actually him doing the killings or someone just trying to imitate him like in the first movie. Either it's intentional or they forgot to clear that up in the second movie, which was probably the case as I doubt the people responsible for this film are rocket scientists. I'll just leave it with a guess, Trevor Moorehouse did it.

If you enjoyed the first film, you can't go wrong with this one. If you didn't like the first film but enjoy slasher movies, give it a try. If you don't like slasher movies in general, don't bother with this.

poorly made horror disaster
OliverPage54724 August 2005
This film was pretty crap in my personal opinion, i thought parts of it were funny just for how ridiculous they seemed to be, but other than that the plot was terrible.

First of all the killer is called Trevor Moorehouse, who apparently killed a young girls brother at a holiday camp a few years earlier, so she decides to work in the same place and then wonders why she has nightmares about it, the whole setting is a cheap low budget rip off of the original Friday the 13th film and the costume is pretty poor and non scary. The title on the DVD i watched was 'Jason Vs Trevor'which for one is a blatant rip off of 'Freddy Vs Jason' and it doesn't even fit in with the idea of the film because the only character called Jason was the dead brother of the main heroine in the film, he is never seen and only mentioned a couple of times and in no way contributes to the overall effect of the film or storyline.

This really is a rushed low budget film and i would only recommend to watch it if your with a lot of friends late at night who really wanna have a good laugh, because really thats all its good for.

It Murders The Original.
Incubus_Reborn14 June 2004
The infamous red-herring Trevor Moorehouse returns for round 2 with "Bloody Murder 2," a beefed up, sexed up sequel to the generally cheesy direct-to-video original. Everything you hated about (or laughed about) the original "Bloody Murder" is rectified here. Whereas the first one had zero gore, this one packs on the red stuff, especially with the first murder, which had me squirming in my seat. There is also an abundance of sex & nudity in general (props to Tiffany Shepis) that help enhance the enjoyment of the movie (don't feel guilty -- these flicks are pretty superficial to begin with). Heck, even the acting is better -- although I wouldn't go as far as to say it was good, just an improvement. The characters may have been a bit shallow, but at least they had some sort of definition. The story revolves around a group of camp-counselors closing up camp and celebrating. Tracy, one of the counselors, is the sister of one of the victims from the original, and her motives for returning are somewhat vague. Just like in the original, people start dropping off one by one, and yet the counselors still feel obliged to stick around and finish their work. The ending is somewhat sketchy and cliched, but overall, "Bloody Murder 2" is a triumph over the original, which was basically just a joke.

Slasher
smellthecult-com-14 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Silly but fun horror that takes a tried and tested formula, and does absolutely nothing new with it.

This is essentially the Friday the 13th series by another name. Indeed, the main man himself (Trevor!) is nothing but an amalgamation of Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers from the Friday the 13th and Halloween series respectively.

Attractive but irritating 'teens' (who are clearly about 25) gather at a summer camp to tidy it up for some reason, and are picked off one by one. Some of the death scenes are highly entertaining, especially the guy who has his legs hacked off one at a time and crawls along like a slug, but there's nothing at all in the way of originality.

Bad script, bad acting, bad plot.

I enjoyed it!.

On par with the first
thetheonly9 October 2019
If you saw the first film and wanted a more bloody version or if you tried watching the first one and couldn't get behind what it lacked in special effects this is the slightly superior sequel for you. Or if you know nothing about either film then this is more or less a stand alone film from the first. Plenty of other reviewers have provided a synopsis so instead I'll go over what the film succeeds and fails at. First the film succeeds at gore effects from the opening kill the gore is good and well crafted. Next the atmosphere is still wonky as in the first but you will get used to it but the tone is slightly improved. Now onto what the film fails at. Surprisingly (or maybe unsurprisingly) the acting is significantly worse in this one. Next the killer looks worse than in the first and looks a bit ridiculous, not a big fan. Next the convoluted twist won't give any details but there is one and it was really dumb also a dues ex machina that makes no sense and comes out of the blue which also doesn't work. The only reason to see this is if you're a hardcore slasher fan and if you're into somewhat gory films. I wouldn't go out of the way to see this and it's funny based upon the first and this sequel where what they succeed and fail at are almost the exact opposite making me scratch my head and wondering if the creators tried to fix the mistakes from the first by switching what they focused on. It is available for free off of YouTube and is free with subscription off of Amazon.

Better than part 1, but...
clemecali12 February 2008
Warning: Spoilers
It could be that I've been watching Horror movies since I was a kid or it could be that nowadays anyone can make a "film". This low budgeter was a disappointment, although I must say it was slightly better than part 1.

The saving grace for me was watching sexy starlet Tiffany Shepis (she was the reason I rented this) and the two or three gory deaths of some of the characters. I thought this was decent up until the last 20 minutes

I wish Tiffany had been cast as one of the leads, she certainly is a better actress than the other two.

This is how to make a B movie!
Horrorible_Horror_Films31 December 2005
This is not a good movie, duh, but if you love horror movies, and B movies in general, then you will find this an entertaingly bad movie. Lots of really good gore, and some great nudity by Tiffany Shepis who has a body that really should be in hardcore porn. The plot? Oh yea, its just a rip off of Friday the 13th. The mask the killer has on is weird, its not a hockey mask, its more like a ventian mask, its weird, and stupid. I never saw Bloody Murder 1, and it didn't really matter at all. One stupid scene has two camp counslers moving hay from one stack to the next - a total distance of 10 feet, it doesn't make any sense and is very stupid, there, is that 10 lines?

Bloody Murder II: Closing Camp
HorrorFan198418 May 2020
A group of camp counsellors are planning to close camp after a successful summer. One of them is Tracy who is the sister of Jason from the first film. You'll remember that he was killed by what appears to be Trevor Moorehouse following Nelson Hammond's arrest for the other murders. This movie takes place 5 years after those killings.

One night after playing a game of "Bloody Murder", one of the counsellors is brutally slaughtered by someone wearing a mask. Another person is killed the next day, and just like five years ago, the camp staff and police just believe that it's a missing persons case and nothing serious. Eventually a body appears and the police are forced to take some sort of action. They decide to lockdown the counsellors at the camp until they are done the investigation. One by one, they are knocked in gruesome ways leading to an ending that explains everything regarding Jason's death in the first film and the Moorehouse legend.

Bloody Murder II amps up what was missing from the first movie. There is a ton of gore, some of which was so extreme (especially the first murder). We get limbs cut off and lots of stabbing, whereas in Bloody Murder it was all left up to imagination for the most part. I'm sure Bloody Murder II is not filmed at the same sites used in the original, but they did a good job picking a place that looks really similar to Camp Placid Pines location shoots from the first movie.

The acting wasn't all that much better in this one. Katy Woodruff was just as average of a horror final girl as Jessica Morris was in the first movie. What I did enjoy about the movie was the connection it made to wrap up what we saw in the first film. For me however, Bloody Murder II felt like a step back. It's a cheaply made sequel, but it comes off so cheap to me that it makes Bloody Murder look sleek and well put together.

Bloody Murder II is a fine horror film and I recommend it to all slasher fans. I prefer the original slightly more than this, but the sequel gives a ton more blood/guts and a conclusion to the Trevor Moorehouse legend.

Typical direct to video slasher. Works for what it's made.
insomniac_rod23 December 2004
Warning: Spoilers
Where to start? This sequel is not a cynical copy of Friday the 13th. Yes it takes place in the woods, there's a psycho killer that wears a mask, gratuitous sex scenes, girls wearing sexy clothes, gore, but there's a little more plot development that forces the audience to think and generate an opinion towards who the killer is. You get to wonder from several options.

There's a decent amount of gore and some nice killing scenes. The scene where the guy gets his legs chopped off is the highlight of the movie. No wait, the highlight of the movie is the soft-core sex scene between Angela (Tiffany Shepis) and Tracy's boyfriend. Wow! I thought I was watching some Skinemax flick. There are other entertaining death scenes like the fore-mentioned Angela's, Elvis, and Michael.

The acting is as bad as you can get. Katy Woodruff (Tracy) is very hot and sexy! but she can't act. She should get more acting opportunities in these kind of flicks because she has potential. I thank her for wearing sexy clothes. The other actors deliver what's on their possibilities.

"Bloody Murder 2" is an entertaining ultra low budget slasher flick direct to video. Watch it only if you're hungry for b-movies. 6/10. I'm being gentle with this movie because at least it kept me little interested on it's plot.

Bloody Murder II
Toronto853 July 2013
The first film told the tale of serial killer Trevor Moorehouse who was suspected of killing the counsellors. In the end the killer was the manager of the camp, however we did see Trevor kill one character named Jason at the end. This sequel takes place five years after that, and focuses on a new set of counsellors who just finished working for the summer and are closing camp for the winter. We meet our main female character Tracy who has a connection to the first movie - She is Jason's sister. After being killed at the end of 'Bloody Murder', Jason's body apparently was never found. Tracy still clearly has issues over this and suffers from nightmares. Anyways, late one night after the group plays a game of bloody murder, we see the first kill. That's when we realize that someone is back at Camp Placid Pines. Someone stalking the woods wearing a white mask. Pretty soon the body count rises and the suspect list grows...Could the murderer be Trevor Moorehouse or someone completely different?

I wasn't a HUGE fan of the first film, but thought it wasn't a bad attempt at a "killer at camp' slasher. 'Bloody Murder II' definitely amps up the gore in which 'Bloody Murder' severely lacked. We get severed body parts and tons of blood. It's actually pretty brutal stuff. The acting was just average in this one, good efforts from some but poor from others. Katy Woodruff did an good job at the lead character Tracy, but it was nothing spectacular. Stand out performance of the movie goes to unknown Raymond Novarro Smith as funny guy Elvis. He held his own in this one. Where 'Bloody Murder II' succeeds mostly is with it's plot and the killer's identity. It wraps up a lot of what we saw at the end of part one very nicely, and adds to the Trevor Moorehouse story wonderfully.

A flaw with 'Bloody Murder II' is that it fails at logic in some parts. For example, a bunch of the kids have been killed at the camp site, yet the police tell them to stay there? No way in real life would that have happened, and no way would anyone stay in the place that a masked serial killer is stalking. Secondly, why would Tracy go up to the camp in which her problem went missing from years back (and who was supposedly murdered)? It's just a bit strange. I am also not a fan of the ending. It's rushed, it's silly, and they blatantly rip off 'Friday the 13th'. We're talking certain dialogue and scenes, a complete rip off. Nevertheless, 'Bloody Murder II' is worth a watch for horror fans. It's pretty average, but if you enjoy summer camp type horror movies, it's a decent entry.

Excellent Teenie - Slasher
Justin-Fog9 July 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Although I somehow like "Bloody Murder I", too (it isn't as bad as some of you may say; well, there isn't any blood, but the suspense is there and, except for the missing gore and the sex scenes, so is the stalking killer and the obligatory scream queen...), this one titled "Closing Camp" is considerably better. In fact, it's one of the best films of the slasher genre I've seen in the past few years. Here you have everything - the stalking "Jason Vorhees"-like Killer Trevor Moorehouse who uses everything from Crossbow to chainsaw to get his victims. You have graphic and very well choreographed sex scenes and you have not one but a trio of scream queens. The film has suspense, gore and everything that makes the hair in your nape crawl. There are only two weak points - one, the female cook is so scared of killer turned legend Trevor Moorehouse that she refuses to spend one more night at the camp. A while later we learn she's been killed - but how? When? And where? We never get to know. Secondly, at the end there is a puzzling confrontation between young Trancy and chainsaw-wielding Trevor Moorehouse - yet, he spares her. Why? If a third part is planned, this is where the story should pick up. Other than that, a great and enjoyable horror-thriller that's worth your while. Eight out of ten from me. I've seen a lot worse... Tiffany Shepis save the movie - believe me.
jonas-31019 September 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Yes! The movie is a simply ripoff remake of Friday 13th. Yes! nothing is new in his style... But Angela, or better, Tiffany Shepis put the movie in a "interesting entertainment situation". The film is totally predictable but Tiffany's nudity warm the screen. As well, the movie is not so bad, and Tiffany is a HOT girl she have great humps!!! The film have great effects for the gender... And thinking about your proposition he send your idea. The end of the film is almost a surprise. Is a funny moment when during the movie a beautiful white girl and a black guy talk about de terror movies clichés, like, the blacks die first and naked bulbs girls this is really funny. Well! the movie is good enough to keep your attention and bring to you some diversion.

Better than the first movie at least
doctorsmoothlove6 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
"Bloody Murder 2" at least manages to have a more accurate title than the first film in this franchise did. By that, I mean that the kills in this aging direct-to-video slasher film are gory. The kills are creative and kind of weird. Perhaps had this had a theatrical release in the 80s it could have become a cult classic. It's also the first slasher movie I've seen with an extended segment where someone watches a computer video.

The story takes place at Placid Pines Campground five years after the events of the first film. It's a complete retread including the "bloody murder" game and jump scare of the first movie. This time the camp counselors are closing the camp at the end of summer. A mystery slasher person starts killing everyone for seemingly no reason and then the slasher conventions play out. Tiffany Shepsis' lovely appearance as the promiscuous female victim adds a level of eroticism to the movie that makes it a good candidate for date night. The sex scenes have a level of realism to them as does her figure that you wouldn't see in heyday slasher.

The villain, Trevor Millhouse, looks really stupid even when compared to his original look in the first film. The "costume" is just a normal jacket and pants with a Spirit Halloween mask. There was no effort to maintain his appearance between films and the poster on IMDb doesn't present him as he actually looks. His role in the story is also weird. Once again, in a twist anyone can see coming, Trevor isn't the primary antagonist but he's also in the movie? Both of the Bloody Murder films weirdly suppress Trevor Millhouse as a legend in what should have been his own story. Friday the 13th did this too... in part 5 when ideas were running out.

This is not a memorable or necessary movie at all. The biggest reason to see it is that you're a big slasher fan looking for something you haven't seen. In that vein, I suppose it's worth watching on the Lionsgate DVD sets or free on Tubi.
