Director Joe Lynch’s (Wrong Turn 2, Mayhem, “Creepshow”) new movie Suitable Flesh, based on H.P. Lovecraft’s The Thing On The Doorstep, is poised to unleash body-swapping horror this Halloween weekend.
Suitable Flesh is bringing Lovecraftian madness to theaters and VOD on October 27, 2023, and the film will later be hitting Shudder for exclusive streaming in January 2024.
In Suitable Flesh, “After murdering her young patient, a once-esteemed psychiatrist helplessly watches her life spiral into a nightmarish maelstrom of supernatural hysteria and gruesome deaths, all linked to a seemingly unstoppable ancient curse.”
The film stars Barbara Crampton, Heather Graham, Judah Lewis, Bruce Davison, Johnathon Schaech, and Jonah Ray.
Dennis Paoli, the writer of Re-Animator and From Beyond, wrote the script.
Bloody Disgusting previously spoke with Joe Lynch at Tribeca, where he teased the Lovecraft connections for Gordon’s fans and the advice Brian Yuzna gave him when making the film.

Chevy Chase's time on "Community" was ... complicated. At the beginning of a show, having a big comedy name like Chase on board was part of the reason "Community" existed at all; the rest of the cast was basically seen as the guy from "The Soup" and people you may have seen in something maybe. For a while, Chase's self-centered, bigoted Pierce Hawthorne was an integral part of the show. He had the freedom to do all the classic buffoonery he made his name on and felt like a key part of the group despite being such an outlier. In season 2, when the decision was made to essentially turn Pierce into the main antagonist, Chase thrived and delivered some of the finest moments of the show.
Behind the scenes, though, things were not great. If you listen to just about any interview with anyone who worked on that show, you...

The most important character in Taylor Jenkins Reid’s novel Daisy Jones & The Six? It’s the music – and any devotee of the book, a fictional oral history of a Seventies rock band, will have strong feelings about exactly how it should sound. It might have shades of Stevie Nicks, a touch of Joni Mitchell, a dash of The Eagles’ soft rock – and it has to feel vital, like it “takes a piece of your heart out and shows it to you”, as the group’s singer Billy Dunne puts it. The success of Prime Video’s Daisy Jones TV adaptation, then, was always going to ride on the songs – but how do you write the perfect track for an entirely made-up artist?
There is a time-honoured tradition of music written specifically for on-screen stories, from the sublime to the ridiculous. Think of Lady Gaga’s Ally making her...

“Your Place or Mine” is the story of two best friends named Peter and Debbie who slowly come to realize that they are a perfect match. The film, which debuted on Feb. 10, is a bit of a throwback to the glory days of rom-coms, a period in the 1990s and early aughts when Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock, Matthew McConaughey and other spunky stars met cute to the delight of moviegoers. And that’s not just in the casting of Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher, veterans of the genre, in the two central roles, or that “Your Place or Mine” was written and directed by Aline Brosh McKenna, who previously penned “27 Dresses” and “The Devil Wears Prada.”

This week on FBI: International, the locking of horns between Special Agent Scott Forrester and muckety-muck Ken Dandridge hits a tipping point, as their approaches to cracking a case wildly differ. Could this be the clash that gets Forrester booted from the Fly Team for good?

In the documentary "Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies," which premieres on Peacock on Nov. 29, Anthony revisits the infamous case surrounding the death of her daughter Caylee and reveals new details about what she alleges happened.
On July 15, 2008, Caylee's grandmother called 911 and reported that she hadn't seen her granddaughter for 31 days. Anthony initially lied to detectives during the subsequent investigation and claimed Caylee had been kidnapped by a nanny. She was later arrested and charged with first-degree murder, though she was eventually found not guilty on that charge.

A Friend of the family premieres on Peacock on October 6.
The series is a fictionalized take on a story you may know very well.
Jan Broberg's story was previously told on the Netflix docuseries, Abducted in Plain Sight.
Now, from creator Nick Antosca and with Broberg's help as an executive producer, her story is investigated again, this time without the details.
Instead, Antosca and Broberg try to show viewers how an insidious man made himself a friend of the family, ingratiating himself into their world, breeding a perfect scenario in which Broberg was kidnapped and abused, with her abductor never paying a steep price for his crimes.
Jake Lacey stars as Robert 'B' Berchtold, the man behind the crimes, and Lio Tipton is his wife, Gail.
In our interview, Lacey discusses how he was challenged as an actor to bring B's views to light without needing to understand the man himself.
