If you’re seeing your friends write “Merry Chrysler” on social media and are confused, don’t worry, you’re probably not alone. Let us explain the meaning to you!
People started wishing a “Merry Chrysler” instead of a “Merry Christmas” starting in 2015 after a video went viral on the former app Vine.
Keep reading to find out more…
The video was created by Christine Sydelko and features her saying “Merry Christmas” over and over again in various festive locations, but every time the pronunciation gets worse and worse until she eventually says “Merry Chrysler.”
While the app was still running, the video received over 101 million “loops,” which was essentially another word for views.
The video became a viral sensation and the “Merry Chysler” meme was created. See the video below!

Christine Sydelko, the comedy vlogger and podcast host, is quitting the internet, she shared yesterday on Twitter. The announcement (below) marks the first time that Sydelko, 25, has Tweeted since July. Her YouTube channel, which counts 1.3 million subscribers, has remained dormant for roughly the past seven months.
“I quit the internet stuff just Fyi,” she wrote. “It’s such a trivial job. I can’t stand the people getting in fake drama for attention or acting like they’re a creative when they just film themselves living. It was sorta fun while it lasted, but I value my privacy more than followers now. See ya.” Sydelko posted the same missive to her Instagram account, where creators like Trisha Paytas and Matt King voiced their support.

Alexis G. Zall’s latest multi-format series tells a story that may sound frighteningly familiar to creators in today’s competitive digital landscape.
Maybe Today Satan, an Instagram-first horror-comedy produced by digital studio Portal A that will also live on Zall’s YouTube channel (1.2 million subscribers), will see the 20-year-old influencer consenting to a satanic possession after making a deal with the literal devil to grow her audience. The series kicked off on April 5 with Zall going on a ghost-hunting excursion on her YouTube channel (below) with fellow star Andrew Lowe. Ensuing content is currently rolling out as a four-week takeover of her Instagram account, comprising both feed and Story posts.
The series will explore the emotional impact of maintaining a successful online career, and will feature cameos by Elle Mills, Eva Gutowski, Christine Sydelko, and Chris Klemens. All told, Maybe Today Satan will comprise more than 70 pieces of content,...

Ballinger, who is best known for her Miranda Sings character, has been a longtime friend of Grande’s -- and even shared a vlog in which she attended the singer's 20th birthday party back in 2013. DeMartino -- who had a dust-up with the singer on Twitter earlier this year over a vlog in which she attempted to imitate Grande’s life for a day -- is a beauty and lifestyle creator who also makes music with her twin sister, Niki.

Longstanding digital network Studio71 has launched a new division called Studio71 Podcasts, which will distribute audio series hosted by social influencers targeting millennials listeners.
Studio71 first took note of the podcasting space last year, and began producing its own shows last March. Its roster currently comprises 11 shows hosted by bold-faced creators such as Christine Sydelko and Harley Morenstein, Digiday reports. And Sydelko’s show, Don’t Mess With Christine Sydelko, has been a veritable success, clinching an average of 75,000 listens per episode -- plus an additional 250,000 views on YouTube, where a video version of the show is also uploaded in its entirety.
By year’s end, Studio71 expects to double its current slate, per Digiday, to roughly 20 series that are releasing 80 to 100 episodes airing per month.

Studio71 wants to mine podcasts for more ad dollars by extending the reach of its stable of YouTube content creators into a new medium.
Over the past two months, the digital-media company has launched 11 podcasts with creator partners. Those include “Fanboi with Harley Morenstein,” featuring Morenstein (pictured above), the host and creator of Epic Meal Time. Morenstein’s podcast launched last week and hit the top five podcasts on iTunes for the Games and Hobbies category. Other include “Kayln’s Coffee Talk,” “Don’t Mess with Christine Sydelko,” and “Sh*t They Don’t Tell You” with Nikki Limo and Steve Greene.
The opportunity for Studio71 is to take digital influencers and deliver ad-supported audio-content for millennial and Gen Z audiences (18-34), said CEO Reza Izad. Podcast audiences historically have skewed older than that younger demo.

Two of YouTube's most notable partners are moving into separate digital homes. Elijah Daniel and Christine Sydelko, whose co-produced videos are released under the name Elijah and Christine, have announced their decision to launch channels of their own.
Elijah and Christine aren't breaking up their partnership; they just released a coloring book together and have plans to co-host a live show together in the future. But by continuing to funnel their work onto a shared hub, they failed to live by the mantra that had previously driven their content, Daniel explained. "It's us going us against our entire brand that we've built," he said in a video. "We're telling our fans the entire time, 'be yourself,' but at the same time we're forcing ourselves to make s**tty content we don't want to make."

YouTube’s favorite misfit duo is putting their own special spin on holiday merch.
Elijah Daniel and Christine Sydelko -- known to their more than 1.6 million YouTube subscribers across two channels as Elijah & Christine -- are vending an adult coloring book for the holidays called Color F-ck. Available on Amazon for $14.99, it features 24 “hilariously offensive designs” that users can make their own. The cover of the book provides a hint at what’s inside -- a cartoon of the two YouTube stars surrounded by a marijuana leaf, used condom, and several phalluses.
Already, it seems to be a hit, with Amazon noting that Color F-ck is No. 1 on its 'Deconstructivist Philosophy' list, which is apparently how the retail giant classifies swear word coloring books.

Female comedians are growing in popularity across all platforms. And not only do they continue to redefine what it means to be funny, they demonstrate that a woman can embody any number of characteristics to convey who she is as an entertainer.
Hollywood's rules of what defines a woman as an entertainer are outdated, howevre, and—as we all know—there's nothing funny about being a woman in the entertainment business right now.
In this installment of the Tubefilter + Snarled Women In Video Series, we're going to focus on how a new wave of multi-dimensional, dynamic women offer a completely new glimpse into the ever-evolving definition of what it means to be female and funny in the entertainment business.
Panelists:
Amber Rasberry | Executive Director, Production & Development, Kevin Hart's Laugh Out Loud Network
Christine Sydelko | YouTube Personality and Birkenstock Enthusiast
Mamrie Hart | New York Times Best-Selling Author and Actress

With Elijah Daniel and Christine Sydelko's latest stunt, the uber-buzzy vlogger duo have realized a longtime dream.
After Daniel tweeted almost exactly a year ago that he wanted to appear on a trashy talk show and faux-fight with his YouTube counterpart, these dreams were gloriously realized in the form of an uproarious sketch posted today to Maury Povich's YouTube channel. In a parody of one of Maury's regular segments called Social Sit Down, Sydelko says she suspects that Daniel is cheating on her with popular storytime vlogger Tana Mongeau, only to discover -- thanks to a lie detector test, naturally -- that he's gay.

The 7th Annual Streamy Awards ended up being a big night for several preeminent members of the online video community, and Twitter was a big winner right alongside them.
The social media platform, which served as the event's official broadcast partner, ultimately picked up one million unique viewers on its Streamys live stream, more than doubling the audience that tuned in for last year's bash. VOD clips from this year’s Streamy Awards and the Streamys Red Carpet also garnered over 2.1 million views within the 24 hours following the show.
Twitter's live stream included the entirety of the two-hour Streamy Awards ceremony, during which 17 awards were handed out to outstanding online video stars.
