Frank visits Lenny’s daughter at her work, and the two talk about funreal plans.
“Listen, I’m working on my eulogy. If there’s anything in particular you’d like me to say, just call it into Detective Baker,” he says.
She asks, “So are they gonna shoot off guns or something?”
“No.

In the latest TV ratings, CBS’ Blue Bloods was again Friday’s most-watched program, while Fox’s Friday Night SmackDown dominated the night in the coveted 18-49 demo.
Ahead of what looks like a double-episode sendoff for Alex Russell’s Jim Street, CBS’ S.W.A.T. this Friday drew a hair over 5 million total viewers and a 0.4 demo rating (per Nielsen finals), steady week-to-week. Fire Country (with 5.25 million total viewers and a 0.4 rating) and Blue Bloods‘ tribute to the late Treat Williams and his Lenny Ross character (5.55 mil/0.4) both ticked up in audience versus last week’s preliminary numbers, with the latter also rising in the demo.

Treat Williams’ Blue Bloods character, Lenny Ross, was the best friend and former partner of New York City Police Commissioner Francis “Frank” Reagan (Tom Selleck). In a conjunction of the series with real life, both were given a tribute on Friday.
Williams died in real life last June at age 71 after a motorcycle accident, and was last seen in Blue Bloods season 13. In that episode, it was revealed he had cancer.
On Friday, Blue Bloods‘ storyline said Lenny died from that disease.
The story setup saw Frank having to decide whether Lenny’s daughter, arrested after a bar fight, should face prosecution, even as he’s torn over loyalty to his late friend. “He was my best friend. And I’m gonna honor that by doing what’s best for his daughter,” Frank says.
After wrestling with the dilemma, Frank opts for duty over friendship, and gives Tess information on a good defense attorney.

Ever since it was announced that Treat Williams’ tragic death would be addressed on Blue Bloods Season 14, there have been questions about how that would play out on-screen.
Williams has appeared on the CBS procedural as Lenny Ross since 2016.
As a friend of Frank (Tom Selleck), the character broke through and earned many fans during Williams’ time on the show.
Going into the episode, it was inevitable that Lenny would succumb to cancer after he opened up to Frank last season about his diagnosis.
Instead of taking things in a dramatic direction, Blue Bloods did a remarkable job paying tribute to such a terrific character.
It all started with Frank being put in a tough spot after Lenny’s daughter Tess (Simone Policano) was arrested following a bar fight.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 3, “Fear No Evil.”] Blue Bloods paid tribute to the late Treat Williams in Season 14 Episode 3, “Fear No Evil.” It did so by bringing back the daughter of Williams’ Lenny Ross, Tess, played by Simone Policano. Tess is an alcoholic experiencing ups and downs in her struggle to maintain sobriety. The bartender got herself into a bad fight that resulted in disorderly conduct and assault charges at the top of the episode, and she used her father’s Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) courtesy call to try and get herself out of jail. Frank was shocked to meet with Tess in the booking room; he wasn’t sure why she had Lenny’s favor given to him by the commissioner. He’s heartbroken to learn that Lenny’s cancer had come back, and he died the night before. Tess’ violent outburst caused by a rowdy customer was driven by her grief.

Blue Bloods memorialized Treat Williams and his character in the most beautiful way possible.
This series is always heart and family-centered without being overtly emotional, and that's how they honored Lenny Ross on Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 3.
The episode revolved around Tess; bad behavior. It was only in the final moments that Frank expressed his own grief and sorrow over Lenny's passing, giving him a beautiful sendoff at the Sunday dinner table, and it was one of the most moving tributes I've ever heard.
Frank's grief was understated throughout the hour, which was typical of Frank Reagan.
He seemed so much like his usual self that I didn't think Henry and Abigail had got it right when they suggested his treatment of Tess came from his own unexpressed grief.
The situation with Tess was tricky. Lenny always enabled her when he was alive, bailing her out of every bad situation.

Lenny Ross is no longer with us, but Frank won't have much time to grieve.
Spoilers for Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 3 promise a tribute to Lenny and his late portrayer, but Frank will also have a dilemma to solve.
Lenny's wayward daughter, Tess, gets arrested again, and it's up to Frank to decide how to help her.
Lenny Ross popped up on Blue Bloods at least once a season, usually in over his head with some stupid scheme that Frank had to try to straighten out.
His last appearance, shortly before Treat Williams' death, suggested Lenny wasn't long for this world -- he was dying of cancer. This story might have happened even if the actor hadn't passed away, but the fact that Williams isn't still with us makes it doubly poignant.
Add in that this is Blue Bloods' final season, and there's no way most viewers will be able...

If you miss spending Friday nights with the Reagans, you're far from the only one.
After 13 seasons, the Tom Selleck-led drama is still one of CBS' most popular offerings, usually winning the night for the network.
If you're worried that there won't be any more Blue Bloods, don't be -- the series has been renewed for a 14th season. Read on to learn everything we know about Blue Bloods Season 14.
Blue Bloods' enduring popularity probably has to do with how the series centers on the importance of family.
While it is partially a police procedural, the two things you can be sure of in every episode are that Frank will deal with some political issue involving leading the police department and that there will be a Sunday night Reagan family dinner.
