Exclusive: Chris McCumber is departing Blumhouse Television after three years as President. The unit’s President of Production, Jeremy Gold, will step into the top role on an interim basis. A search is underway for a new head of the TV group, which is getting downsized, with several people — believed to be fewer than 10 — being laid off today. (Blumhouse’s total headcount in film and TV is almost 100.)
The staff reductions are coming mostly from the TV division’s Creative and Business Affairs departments, sources said. The unscripted group, led by Gretchen Palek, will remain intact, as will Blumhouse’s shared services groups including Production, Casting, Hr, Marketing and Finance.
Blumhouse TV scripted head Chris Dickie (EVP Scripted Programming and Development) is staying put and will be assisting Gold during the transition, with Gold stepping up his role on the slate of Blumhouse TV series that are expected to go...

The shows are meant to be the first installment of a new anthology series called “Blumhouse’s Ghost Story.” “The Battersea Poltergeist” tells the story of strange events that occurred in 1956 in Battersea, South London, when 15-year old Shirley Hitchings first began being terrorized by a powerful force. The events were investigated over a 12-year period, becoming the longest documented poltergeist haunting in history. The unscripted companion series will delve deeper into the story through the use of archival footage and new interviews.

The trio, who now are among the few performers who have won an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony, celebrated the five Emmy wins in total for “Superstar” over the two-day award ceremony that honors the best and the brightest in reality television, variety series and nonfiction programming, among others.
Other standout moments included three awards for “Queer Eye” (a reboot after being away for 11 years) and six posthumous trophies for Anthony Bourdain and his CNN show “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown.”

Leave it to Mindy Kaling to tweet the truth. "I'm gonna say what we're all thinking: whoever cast the @netflix #queereye did an incredible job," she wrote on June 24. And we couldn't agree more, along with the rest of the world as it seems everyone is obsessed with Netflix's Queer Eye, the revival of the iconic series that has introduced an all-new Fab Five. In less than a year, Karamo Brown, Jonathan Van Ness, Antoni Porowski, Tan France and Bobby Berk have gone from virtual unknowns to overnight pop culture sensations. And Danielle Gervais (the senior vice president of casting & talent at ITV America) and Gretchen Palek (the co-president...

Season 1 of “Queer Eye” came to Netflix in February and became an instant pop culture sensation. Each member of the Fab Five—Jonathan Van Ness, Antoni Porowski, Tan France, Bobby Berk, and Karamo Brown—turned into a household name and when Season 2 was released in June, it cemented the celebrity status of the core cast. Their chemistry with each other, unique points of view, diverse makeup, and the way they relate to the shows “heroes” struck a chord with the show’s audience. Their onscreen bond makes it seem like assembling the group of five was a no-brainer, but it was actually the result of a multi-part, five-month casting process. Awoooooooo! Animal Planet has ordered new series “Wolves & Warriors,” which will pair combat vets suffering from Ptsd with rescued wolves, TheWrap has learned exclusively.
Premiering later this year, “Wolves & Warriors” features U.S. Navy veteran Matt Simmons and Dr. Lorin Lindner, a clinical psychologist, the husband and wife team behind the Lockwood Animal Rescue Center (Larc). Larc has a unique purpose: to rescue wolves from dangerous domestic situations, illegal breeding operations, petting zoos and abuse or neglect scenarios and then introduce them to combat veterans suffering from Ptsd, per Animal Planet’s official logline.
The program provides veterans the opportunity to heal the wounds of war, by personally caring for the 50 wolves at the sanctuary, it continued. Larc is closed to the public so rescue wolves and warriors meet in a safe and private space as they begin their journeys to recovery after the traumas they’ve suffered.
