All too often on Food Network Star, contestants are told to streeeeetch their segments just a few seconds longer. And on the reality competition’s hourlong finale, there was a lot of stretching for time.
Before we could find out whether Nicole, Lenny or Luca would become the next Food Network Star, all of the Season 10 finalists rejoined their judges for a look back at the past few weeks. Here’s the CliffsNotes version:

Construction noises are the ambient sound as Chris Nirschel surveys the new restaurant at the gateway to Greenwich Village, where he serves as executive chef.
By Manhattan standards, the restaurant is huge -- 8,000 square feet upstairs, 5,000 down. He set the menu, which includes 20 New York beers on tap. Nirschel had already wrapped MTV's "House of Food," premiering Monday, March 31.
In it, aspiring chefs can learn from the best - provided they have what it takes to learn. Three accomplished chefs, rarely known for their retiring ways, are there to teach, and when one contestant admits she is there more as a hobbyist, they have no patience for her.
The aspiring chefs gather in an exquisite California house, and over the course of the show, they learn tricks of the trade. Living together, there is the usual drama of a group of 20-somethings living together and competing.

In response to yesterday’s Supreme Court ruling, EW contacted Modern Family co-creator Christopher Lloyd who said they are now considering a wedding for Mitchell and Cameron. Lloyd said, “As you can imagine in Cam and Mitchell’s life, they would be feeling that a door has opened that was closed to them. Wouldn’t it be pretty tempting to think about walking through it? We imagine a lot of gay couples today are deciding whether to get married now that it’s open to them. From our standpoint, that’s something to explore.”
That moment of mixed emotions when a historical victory turns into
the realization that you’ll need to find a delicious cake with no lactose, nuts or gluten.
TVLine reports that time is running out for Happy Endings. The cast’s contracts will expire this week and the comedy is running out of potential new homes.

“I think I’m failing in the ‘food authority’ category.”
Let’s be honest, when you’re dropping that kind of self-assessment on Episode 3 of Food Network Star, the only dish on the menu is toast. And yes, you are that toast.
Thus, we bid an overdue goodbye to sour, monotone, Danushka, a former model hungry for fame, but not for any burger bigger than a slider. A woman whose proud ennui during a challenge that emulated Food Network’s dizzyingly difficult Chopped had guest judge Alex Guarnaschelli needing to take a moment to compose herself. On tonight’s Next Food Network Star, the eight finalists got a visit from new Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli (pictured), who was filling in for Giada. I loved how this straight-shooting force of nature didn’t even pretend to indulge Danushka’s bad attitude. Spoilers (in the form of apple juice and “fruit leather”-infused hot sauce, if you please) ahead….
Eliminated: Danushka, the former fashion model with major Chelsea Clinton face (is that crazy?) and a willful detachment from the competition. “My goal was knowing I’m not like anyone that’s on the Food Network,” she said, “But...

Lil Wayne, 30, has had his signature dreads for as long as we can remember and now, in a drastic turn of events, they appear to be gone and replaced by a super-short cut! The week foodies have been waiting for has finally arrived -- at least in Canada. Lucky Americans already know who won the $50,000 for their charity in the final episode of "Chopped: All-Stars" (which aired Sunday night in the U.S.) but I've avoided any and all spoilers leading up to Tuesday's Canadian finale.
The final four consists of Michael Symon (who beat out fellow Iron Chefs Cat Cora, Marc Forgione and Jose Garces), Jeffrey Saad (who took on Aarti Sequeira, Keegan Gerhard and Marcela Valladolid), Penny Davidi (who battled former "Next Food Network Star" contestants Vic "Vegas" Moea, Chris Nirschel and Justin Balmes) and Marcus Samuelsson (who, along with fellow judges Chris Santos, Marc Murphy and Alex Guarnaschelli, got to see what it felt like on the other side of the "Chopped" kitchen).
Who else was cheering for Alex? No offence to Marcus (or Chris and Marc), but I've always been a fan of Alex.

Chris Nirschel ("The Next Food Network Star") and Angelina Pivarnick ("Jersey Shore") were only two months into their relationship when they agreed to be part of "Couples Therapy" (Wed., 10 p.m. Et on VH1). They clearly saw something worth fighting for in their rocky relationship, but Chris was coming from a "player" background, and he seemed reluctant to give up any control.
He absolutely flipped his lid when Angelina said she wasn't interested in having sex with him when he wanted to, making a very degrading and insensitive comment in front of everyone. When he was called on it in therapy, Chris had no apologies.
"She already degraded me," he said. By not wanting to sleep with him? It may be disappointing, but it's hardly degrading. Pivarnick said his antics and behavior are immature, and she's no interest in dealing with it anymore. She was certainly right on the first front.
