Network Ten is betting heavily on new and returning reality shows in 2015 to maintain the momentum of this year.s ratings growth and to make the company a more attractive take-over target as potential buyers circle.
News Corp chairman Rupert Murdoch has confirmed the 50%-owned Foxtel is looking at buying a small stake in the loss-making broadcaster, reportedly in partnership with Discovery Communications. Cross-media laws would limit Foxtel to a 14.9% stake.
Murdoch told News' Agm that independent advisers have been hired to look at the potential purchase but he ruled out buying his son Lachlan.s stake in Ten.
There were only two fresh dramas among eight new local productions highlighted at Ten.s upfronts presentation on Thursday night.
FremantleMedia Australia will produce Mary: The Making Of A Princess, a telemovie dramatizing the fairytale of the Tasmanian-born real estate agent who met a Danish crown prince in a Sydney pub and became Mary,...

The Olympics may be over, but we’re holding on to memories of cheering on our favorite athletes for dear life. There’s something truly beautiful about the Olympic Games and how it unites a country (and gives us something to talk about in an awkward elevator encounter). We do not want to say goodbye! That’s why we spent today looking for ways to indulge in the games for just a little while longer. Something tells us some of the Games’ breakout stars will never be too far from our radar! For now, here are 10 of our favorite ways to not let go of the 2012 Summer Olympics:
1. Ryan Lochte will be appearing on an upcoming episode of the CW’s 90210. He will cross paths with recently reunited couple Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) and Max (Josh Zuckerman) at a resort, where they are attempting to strengthen their relationship. For his sake,...

Los Angeles, California (X17online) - Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte is scheduled to make his first television series appearance on the CW hit drama 90210 in October, as announced by the network on Tuesday. Lochte, who just won five medals in London, will make a cameo appearance as himself in the October 29th episode when he is at the same resort as Naomi and Max. "When we found out Ryan Lochte was going to be in town and might appear on 90210, we felt like we'd won a gold medal! Team USA are all-stars in our book, and we're so excited he's making an appearance on the show. We only wish the episode was a surf event so we could have gotten him in the water, but he deserves a little rest on dry land," executive producers Patti Carr and Lara Olsen said in a joint statement announcing the news. Reality series...

Tommy Dewey (Roommates) has landed a recurring role on the new Fox comedy The Mindy Project, starring Mindy Kaling as a young Ob/Gyn. Dewey, repped by the Kohner Agency and New Wave Entertainment, will play Josh Daniels, a successful lawyer who isn’t afraid to go after things he likes when he sees them — in this case, Mindy. Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte will make his TV series debut with a cameo in an upcoming episode of the CW’s 90210 set to air Oct. 29. He will play a guest at a resort where Naomi and Max are staying to strengthen their relationship. The swimming champion said last week that he was moving to Los Angeles and eying ABC reality series Dancing With The Stars and The Bachelor.

Ryan Lochte has booked his first TV acting gig, a role he's very suited for on "90210." According to TVLine, the Olympic swimmer will play himself in an upcoming episode.
Look for Lochte to pop up at a resort where Naomi (AnnaLynne McCord) and Max (Josh Zuckerman) are staying.
Since the 2012 Olympic Games, Lochte hasn't been shy about his TV ambitions, but most of them have been reality related. "Since I'm so used to competing against Michael Phelps, I'd have him on the [Dancing with the Stars]," Lochte told Us Weekly. "I could do 'Dancing with the Stars'! Yeah, I think so."
Lochte has also hinted at appearing on another ABC reality series: "The Bachelor." According to Lochte's agent, he has multiple offers, and he told "Today" "Bachelor" is definitely on his radar. "I'm definitely looking toward 'Dancing With the Stars' and 'The Bachelor,' so we'll see what happens,...

Given the line-up for the upcoming dating show parody Burning Love, I’m pretty sure it’s mathematically impossible that the web series won’t leave you clutching your sides from laughter. Along with star Ken Marino — of Wanderlust, Wet Hot American Summer, and “I wanna dip my balls in it!” fame — and producer/star Ben Stiller, the show features Michael Ian Black, Adam Scott, Ken Jeong, Kerri Kenney, Party Down’s Ryan Hansen, Malin Akerman, Kristen Bell, and even a former Bachelor himself: Jake Pavelka.
All that’s without mentioning Burning Love’s unabashed skewering of all the tropes...

'Bachelor Pad' (8Pm, ABC) season 1 finale
Who's left: David & Natalie, Kovacs & Elizabeth and Kiptyn & Tenley, the three couples who will be competing to walk away with the big $250,000 grand prize in tonight's first-season wrap-up of 'The Bachelor' spin-off that turned out to be a great summer guilty pleasure. Frankly, we think they should all get a big lump of money -- well, the women, at least -- after that humiliating 'Bachelor Pad' survey episode, which just may be the meanest thing we've ever seen in primetime. But it's a 'Dancing With the Stars'-ish competition that's going to factor into who wins the money, as 'DWtS' famous faces Chelsie Hightower, Edyta Sliwinska and Louis Van Amstel pop in to help the final six shake their groove thangs.

It is the episode that fans of "The Bachelor" wait for every season: the women who have been sent home get their chance to rag on "The Bachelor." Interestingly enough, though, this season the women -- including including Erika, Jillian, Megan, Naomi, Natalie, Nikki, Shannon and Stephanie -- were more interested in dishing the dirt on each other than they were on Jason Mesnick. So when he tells "The Insider" -- "I came into this and I was honest with everybody. I was truthful with everybody and I built a friendship at least with all these girls here. And I was going into tonight really excited to see everybody" -- he most likely is telling the truth. Even Jillian, who was sent home after making it to the final three and an exotic date in New Zealand, really didn't have anything bad to say about the man who won her...
