Amy Green and Gary Green hosted probably one of the best events of summer 2023 – the inaugural Footprint of Life Gala at their residence in Bridgehampton.
The family-run The Green Vision Foundation curated a star-studded night to bring together like-minded organizations to collectively support and bring much-needed awareness and raised in excess of $600,000.
The jungle-themed “50 Shades of Green” soiree benefitted the charity partners’ work to preserve and protect the natural world, promote community upliftment, and most importantly support conservation programs across Africa. The inaugural event is anticipated to pave the way for many more events to come that will center around communities throughout the world.
The glamorous night had many captivating aspects including cocktails, curated food stations, a live auction, musical performances by Jan Blomqvist, Grace Vanderwaal and DJ Ruckus. Additionally, work by David Yarrow, recognized as one of the best fine art photographers in the world, was prominently displayed.

Ray Shulman, a co-founding member and bassist of the influential prog-rock band Gentle Giant, has died at the age of 73.
According to his brother and bandmate, Derek, Ray passed away on March 30th after “he bravely battled a long illness.”
Having grown up in a musical family, Ray and brothers Phil and Derek started their first band together in the early 1960s. Performing as Simon Dupree and the Big Sound, the band quickly earned a record deal with Emi and achieved a top 10 single with their song “Kites.” At one point, their lineup even featured a young piano player named Reginald Dwight, who went on to find fame as Elton John.
Simon Dupree and the Big Sound’s existence was short-lived, as the Shulman brothers became disillusioned by the music industry and being seen as one-hit wonders. After unsuccessfully attempting to release music under the moniker The Moles, the group broke up.

On Friday, August 19, 2022 Amy and Gary Green are hosting an evening fundraiser at their home in Bridgehampton, New York to support the philanthropic and conservation efforts of the African Community & Conservation Fund (Accf) and Tusk, a UK-based charity headed up by Royal Patron, Prince William.
The “Karibu Africa” soireé will raise money to help Accf’s and Tusk’s many community outreach programs, wildlife protection and anti-poaching efforts, including initiatives to improve livelihoods and combat rising food poverty in East & Southern Africa, particularly Tanzania, Rwanda, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
Covid-19 devastated jobs and livelihoods across the African continent, and with few economic recovery resources, decades of conservation and community upliftment success has been put at risk. Moreover, Russia’s war in Ukraine has collaterally created a global food crisis, as wheat and other grain shipments to Africa have been cut off or dangerously delayed.

An extraterrestrial picks a junkie to inhabit in this seedy, inconsistently acted but often sharply comic urban tale
This gleefully lurid, picaresque journey through a few days in Cape Town for an alien inhabiting the body of a skeevy junkie named Barry (Gary Green) won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. But scattered among the gross-out scenes – involving violence or bodily fluids or both, the bouts of softcore shagging, and innumerable garish “trippy” bits where the protagonist and his acquaintances do drugs – there’s actually some reasonably sharply comic, surprisingly touching and straight-up well-acted moments.
Presumably, the key variables are the improvising performers that first-time director Ryan Kruger, fluffing up what was originally a short into feature length, collaborated with for each scene. Some, like Chanelle de Jager, who plays Barry’s longsuffering wife and is given to long profane rants in Afrikaans about Barry’s uselessness, have real...

I know of Ryan Kruger from some of his short film work things, such as 2014’s The Golden Rule and, of course, his 2017 short thing, Fried Barry. I was pleased as punch, you could say, when I heard about the feature length motion picture thing named, well… Fried Barry that would be hitting the screens in 2020. Kruger certainly has an eye for the absurd, but he is also able to adapt and write emotional view-points and tell stories with more than just skin. He can give some real flesh, muscle and blood to what he creates, so I was on board for this peculiar flick.
The first thing that hit me, right in the jaw, about Fried Barry is just how damned creative it is. I love when a weird oddball...

You can’t help but have high hopes for a film called Fried Barry so thankfully expectations have been massively exceeded. Writer/director Ryan Kruger extends his 2017 short of the same name into a phenomenal mind-f**k masterpiece that transcends nano-budget B movie trappings.
The script doesn’t let up as we’re swiftly introduced to Barry (brilliantly played by Gary Green), a perpetually frazzled, financially struggling, drug addled dad/scumbag, who looks like a hybrid of Lee Van Cleef, Julian Beck (Kane from Poltergeist 2) and Dieter Laser from The Human Centipede films.
After walking out on his wife and young son, Barry goes pub, gets tousled on heroin and is then either possessed by extra-terrestrials or has the type of frighteningly heightened hallucination that would suggest he’s been cajoled onto a toad licking frenzy by a psycho Shaman from Mars.
We’re then swiftly booted face first into Barry’s odyssey,...

Who would have predicted that the biggest surprise of the night would come from Gary Green?
Gary, Sara, and the rest of the Legends went right to work after the captain of the Waverider got abducted by aliens on DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 6 Episode 1.
It was a fantastically fun hour with the introduction of a new team member, a proposal, seriously cool aliens, and character moments for just about everyone. But no one really expected anything different from this show, did they?
DC's Legends of Tomorrow Season 6 promised to be jam-packed with aliens, and they definitely did not disappoint us.
The aliens that took Sara are gross, fierce, and everything you would expect from an extraterrestrial creature. And, shockingly, one of them was Gary.
The geeky agent from the Time Bureau had us fooled all along. He was originally sent to Earth to find the quintessential human and bring...
