Jennifer Stidger (Emily Fradenburgh), the hero of the feckless thriller Nothing Without You, suffers from delusions, hallucinations, and bouts of anxiety and paranoia, but it wouldn't be accurate to describe this as a film about schizophrenia.
For director Xackery Irving, mental illness is merely a pretense for predictable murder-mystery intrigue, and he seems considerably more interested in the dramatic possibilities of the condition's symptoms than the reality of those who endure them every day. Well, to be fair, this seems fairly representative of Irving's creative sensibility: He defers so often to the conventions of psychological suspense stories that his film amounts to nothing more than an amalgamation of them.

There’s something about independent movies that I always like. They have a refreshing feel and they often don’t stick to the rules. Many times they have to produce a movie on a small budget and make sacrifices that are often shown on-screen. Many times that little spark of magic you are looking for, where a film catches your attention and provides you with something special, that is what I found with Profile of a Killer.
As the most effective movies often do, Profile of a Killer focuses on two people, a retired FBI Profiler Saul Aitken (Gabriele Angieri) and a teenage boy David (Joey Pollari) trying to create his legacy in the form of a killer.

Hot dog everybody! We’ve got another Christopher R. Mihm movie!
Out of all Mihm’s movies, I must say that this one felt the most like a tribute and the least like a parody, which is not a bad thing. The film holds true to many of the 1950s space exploration movies and the production style and musical score do a wonderful job of re-creating the absurd atmosphere those movies held.
We follow the two-man crew of the Mars-1 spaceship, Captain Jackson and Lieutenant Elliott, as they land on the red planet and see what no man has seen before! Finding the surface of the planet oddly Earth-like, the duo discovers that the air has no hazardous or infectious agents so they don’t even need their space helmets. Of course!
After making the incredibly intelligent decision to split up, Lieutenant Elliot wanders into a...
