Director Joe Lynch (Wrong Turn 2, Mayhem), screenwriter Dennis Paoli – who worked on the screenplays for the Stuart Gordon-directed H.P. Lovecraft adaptations Re-Animator, From Beyond, Castle Freak, Dagon, and Masters of Horror: Dreams in the Witch-House – and producer Barbara Crampton (who had acting roles in Re-Animator, From Beyond, and Castle Freak) recently teamed up to make a new Lovecraft adaptation called Suitable Flesh (read our review Here) in tribute to Gordon. The movie recently received a Blu-ray and DVD release (copies can be purchased at This Link) that includes such extras as audio commentary, featurettes, and bloopers – but if your taste is more old school than that, it’s also coming to VHS, courtesy of Broke Horror Fan and Witter Entertainment!
Copies of the “limited edition, fully functional” Suitable Flesh VHS can be purchased through Witter Entertainment. “It arrives on VHS in slipcase packaging with art by Creepy Duck Design.

Stuart Gordon was the master of cinematic H.P. Lovecraft adaptations. Sadly, he passed away in 2020, but his Lovecraft franchise lives on with Suitable Flesh (read our review Here), which comes from the team of director Joe Lynch (Wrong Turn 2, Mayhem), screenwriter Dennis Paoli – who worked on the screenplays for Gordon’s Lovecraft movies Re-Animator, From Beyond, Castle Freak, Dagon, and Masters of Horror: Dreams in the Witch-House – and producer Barbara Crampton (who was in Re-Animator, From Beyond, and Castle Freak). The movie was given a theatrical and VOD release back in October, and at that time we heard it would reach the Shudder streaming service this January. A new episode of the Revisited video series has just arrived online, and in this one we’re looking back at a movie that was just released last year, writer/director Joe Begos‘s holiday horror film Christmas Bloody Christmas – which got an 8/10 review from our own JimmyO that you can read Here and is available to watch on the Shudder streaming service. Christmas Bloody Christmas has the following synopsis: It’s Christmas Eve and fiery record store owner Tori Tooms just wants to get drunk and party, until the robotic Santa Claus at a nearby toy store goes haywire and makes her night more than a little complicated. Santa Claus begins a rampant killing spree through the neon-drenched snowscape against a backdrop of drugs, sex, metal and violence,...

Reminiscent of the Quentin Tarantino / Robert Rodriguez collaboration Grindhouse with its throwback features and faux trailers for non-existent movies, filmmaker and artist Pat Tremblay’s new book Terror in the Ailien Realms: Transdimensional Horror Movie Posters & Their Film Reviews consists of posters for and reviews of movies that have never existed!
An explanation of what this book is all about was provided in a press release (via Variety), “Drawn by the deep nostalgia of roaming video rental stores to find cool movies to watch by judging what its VHS box’s artwork would entice or beguile, filmmaker & artist Pat Tremblay has created a series of horror movie posters with the assistance of AI. The spirit of Stuart Gordon is alive and well in Joe Lynch’s Suitable Flesh. The adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s “The Thing on the Doorstep,” written by Dennis Paoli (Re-Animator, From Beyond, Dagon), and produced by Brian Yuzna and Barbara Crampton, seamlessly inserts itself into Gordon’s Lovecraftian cinematic world from its opening scene set in a hospital that’s instantly evocative of Re-Animator. Lynch captures the humorous, oft-sexy tone of Gordon’s ‘80s/’90s Lovecraftian horror output while putting his own stamp on it through keen instincts and modern storytelling.

Barbara Crampton stars in Suitable Flesh, exec produced by Brian Yuzna (Re-Animator). The script was written by Dennis Paoli, the writer of Re-Animator and From Beyond!
Both films, of course, were Lovecraft adaptations, and Crampton starred in both. With Paoli, Yuzna, Crampton, and Lynch all involved, this new one should be something very special.

Created by writer/director Aaron B. Koontz and writer Cameron Burns, the horror-comedy Scare Package was released on AMC Networks’ horror streaming platform Shudder in the summer of 2020. Scare Package is an anthology film that tells a series of blood-splattered, satirical horror stories from various directors, which are being recounted by Chad Buckley (Jeremy King), the owner of a video rental store called Rad Chad’s Horror Emporium. This year, Koontz and Burns have assembled a new team of directors for a sequel to Scare Package, the horror-comedy anthology Scare Package II: Rad Chad’s Revenge, which features the return of Chad Buckley, a character who feels like a combination of Joe Bob Briggs and Randy Meeks.

"You can't kill pure evil." Shudder has revealed an official trailer for the fun horror anthology feature Scare Package II: Rad Chad's Revenge, a sequel to first Scare Package series that opened in 2020. This next one is set to start streaming on Shudder later in December. When horror guru Rad Chad Buckley's funeral turns into an elaborate series of hilarious death traps based on his favorite scary films, the guests must band together and use the rules of horror to survive the bloody game. The full cast includes Jeremy King, Zoe Graham, Rich Sommer, Kelli Maroney, Shakira Ja'nai Paye, Graham Skipper, Maria Olsen, and Byron Brown. This looks much funnier than it does scary, though there's ton of crazy gore and blood to be disgusted by anyway. And if you haven't seen the original, maybe it's time for a double feature to enjoy both. ›››

Sam Delich, Jonah Ray Rodrigues, Dora Madison, and Jeremy Gardner also star in Christmas Bloody Christmas along with Jeff Daniel Phillips and Abraham Benrubi.

While Violent Night is lighting the box office on fire, there’s another film featuring a Santa with a bit of bloodlust: Christmas Bloody Christmas. Thankfully this Santa is much less friendly and a lot more homicidal. I was fortunate enough to talk with the writer/director, Joe Begos, and pick his brain on this wonderful little title. He talks about how it started as a Silent Night, Deadly Night remake, only to evolve into a killer robot Santa film. This is probably my favorite conversation yet, so don’t miss it!
Christmas Bloody Christmas synopsis: It’s Christmas Eve and Tori just wants to get drunk and party, but when a robotic Santa Clause at a nearby toy store goes haywire and begins a rampant killing spree through her small town, she’s forced into a battle for survival.
The film stars Riley Dandy (That’s Amor), Jeff Daniel Phillips...

Writer/director Eric Pennycoff’s second feature film, the rowdy Christmas horror comedy The Leech, is coming home just in time for the holidays. The Leech tells the story of a Catholic priest, Father David, played by Graham Skipper, who continues to work hard during the holiday season to spread the word of God, despite the fact he no longer has a congregation. When he finds a man named Terry, played by Jeremy Gardner, sleeping in the church and realizes he has nowhere else to go, the good priest invites him to come to his home and spend the night. Father David soon finds out Terry is boisterous and likes to drink and he might not be the only unexpected house guest the priest has for the holidays. In fact, this Christmas might just get so out of control that it ends up causing Father David to question his faith and fight for his sanity.

Father David (Graham Skipper) is a devout priest who lives by the bible’s doctrine to be a Good Samaritan at all times. Sadistic Intentions writer-director Eric Pennycoff returns with actor Jeremy Gardner for The Leech, which could easily have been titled Good Intentions – for that’s what our lead character Father David has but – of course – there are those in the world who would prey on people’s goodwill and that’s certainly the case here.

Review: Recently, I went to the World Premiere screening of Christmas Bloody Christmas at this year’s Beyond Fest. Intending to review this flick, I decided to go in completely blind. Indeed, the title gives a little warning, but the lively introduction of writer/director Joe Begos grabbed my attention. Whatever this holiday offering had, it was going to be rambunctious. And now, I’m happy to say that the wild and wooly, fast-paced fright fest is perhaps one of the best St. Nick inspired horror features in recent years. Bloody, with practical effects, and many F-bombs to offend those who don’t like cursing. And I cannot wait to talk about the rockstar performances of Sam Delich and especially Riley Dandy.

There are echoes of the Jean Renoir classic Boudu Saved From Drowning in Eric Pennycoff’s filmic fable about a sanctimonious priest who welcomes a homeless man into his house only to lose control of the situation. It lacks the master’s style but its narrative crudity, whilst it may seem more extreme, is very much the modern equivalent. Though clearly made on a shoestring, it’s an entertaining effort and a natural fit for a Frightfest crowd.
It opens with a sermon in which Father David (prolific genre actor Graham Skipper) tells his parishioners, in the run-up to Christmas, that they should always be ready to help strangers because one never knows, they could be Jesus in disguise. The absence of true altruism in this argument echoes throughout the film, with David’s superficially kindly gestures providing scant cover for a selfish and even totalitarian agenda. There’s a hint that this may stem.

Writer/director Eric Pennycoff’s 2018 film Sadistic Intentions uses metal and mayhem to tell a story of romantic deceit. The film stars Jeremy Gardner and Taylor Zaudtke and a big part of the movie’s appeal comes from the onscreen chemistry of the duo, who are now married in real life. Pennycoff’s new film, The Leech, had its World Premiere as the opening night film of this year’s virtual Chattanooga Film Festival, and stars Gardner, Zaudtke, and Graham Skipper. The Leech is a frenzied Christmas horror comedy about a couple who test a priest’s faith to its limit, and it has already been picked up for release by Arrow Films Video.
The Leech opens with Father David, played by Graham Skipper, a priest who continues to faithfully preach to an almost nonexistent congregation. His church pianist, Rigo, played by Rigo Garay, comes to see him after the...
