Now that Fourth of July is well behind us, it's time to follow up our list of nine essential spring movies with a definitive list nine essential summer scenes. These movies pinpoint the glorious ennui, whimsical romance, and slight intrigue of summer's humid charms. Light up a sparkler and let's go.
1. Addams Family Values's pilgrim pageant
There are actual layers of hilarity to this scene: First, dour Wednesday Addams (Christina Ricci) is stuck at Camp Chippewa for the summer. Funny. Then, she's forced to play Pocahontas in the summer camp's Thanksgiving pageant. Think about all of that for a moment. Funnier. But best of all, Wednesday ditches her script, exacts revenge on the awful blonde in the main role, and burns down the camp on behalf of Native Americans.
Her climactic, self-penned monologue is unbeatable -- just like the expressions on befuddled counselors Gary and Becky's faces (Peter MacNicol and Christine Baranski,...

I’m not usually a fan of competition shows, but this one fascinates me. We’re given a terrific insight into the state of the art of special effects makeup, and the results are stunning. In the new season of Face Off we will lose judge Patrick Tatopolous after the premiere, as he goes off to work on the production design of 300: Battle of Artemisia.
His replacement, Neville Page, brings some exceptionally excellent credentials. Read about him, some of the very famous guest judges, some of the challenges, and all of the contestants, right here:

A man spots another on an escalator and follows him. They argue in Albanian, then physically fight and the elder man pulls out a knife and is then pushed in front of an approaching police car. No one at Major Crimes wants the case as they all have plans for Christmas. Captain Raydor (Mary McDonnell) has a family event planned since her father is unwell and this may be his last Christmas. Brenda (Kyra Sedgwick) believes it's not a murder since the murderer is dead and the Vic was only slightly injured. The Vic, Armand Marku (Michael Aronou) is interviewed and states the Vic was his father, Shariq (Patrick Faucette) . Armand married a Christian woman and his father disowned him. He believes his father got angry when he saw him with Christmas presents. They are Muslims. He also has two sisters, but hasn't been in contact with them. Brenda tells...

Millennium Films has released four more clips from the upcoming thriller Trespass. Starring Nicolas Cage, Nicole Kidman, Ben Mendelsohn and Cam Gigandet, the film takes place in Kyle and Sarah Miller’s (Cage and Kidman) wealthy estate and centers around a home invasion that puts both of their lives and the life of their daughter (Liano Liberato) in [...]

Chicago – Joel Schumacher’s “Trespass” represents a new low for the often divisive and (lately) horrendous director of such gems as “The Number 23,” “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Bad Company,” “8Mm,” “Batman & Robin,” and “Batman Forever.” The film is getting a very-brief theatrical release before essentially going straight-to-dvd, leading a few industry watchers to question if perhaps one of the stars had it in his or her contract that the film had to run in movie houses. Unless you have a similar contract requiring you see it, avoid at all costs.
Rating: 1.0/5.0
“Trespass” is an overheated mess, a thriller with no thrills that allows everyone involved to play up their worst tendencies – Nicolas Cage gets a few over-the-top scenes that will surely get more life as mash-ups on YouTube than in the film itself; Nicole Kidman opens her eyes wide and feigns shock in as unbelievable a way as...

Trespass
Directed by: Joel Schumacher
Cast: Nicolas Cage, Nicole Kidman, Cam Gigandget
Running Time: 1 hr 35 mins
Rating: R
Release Date: October 14, 2011 (Chicago and VOD)
Plot: A diamond dealer (Cage) and his wife and daughter are taken hostage by a group of thieves (Mendelsohn, Gigandet) who need money for mysterious reasons.
Who’S It For?: If you really like to watch your Nicolas Cage movies with an extra helping of giggles, consider dishing out some dough for Trespass. Of course, if you like like to take movies seriously, don’t bother with this one.
Expectations: Too many odd components to Trespass made this one seem questionable. Why is a movie with Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman getting a near instant On-Demand treatment? And as it is directed by Joel Schumacher, how bad could the former Woody Allen movie costume designer be this time?
Scorecard (0-10)

Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman in Trespass
Photo: Millennium Entertainment From out of nowhere Millennium Entertainment has brought on a quick flurry of marketing for the upcoming Joel Schumacher film Trespass, which they've set for an October 14 limited theatrical and on demand release. Considering the fact we're talking about a film featuring not one, but two Oscar-winning actors, it's a tiny bit of a surprise.
Nicolas Cage and Nicole Kidman star as Kyle and Sarah Miller, an uppercrust couple doing a bit of a renovation on their fancy pants mansion. However, when Sarah's wandering eye lands on Jonah (Cam Gigandet), one of the young men working on their house, things go awry. Tipped by Jonah, Elias (Ben Mendelsohn), the leader of a bunch of thugs who decides it's time for a little home invasion.
Just the concept alone can send the mind wandering down the typical paths the film could...
