Publicity executive Jeffrey Ballard, who represented Charlie Sheen for many years through his company Jeff Ballard PR, died Jan. 30 in Santa Monica after a five-year battle with cancer. He was 64.
His death was confirmed by his friend Brad Bessey.
Charlie Sheen said in a statement, “As my publicist of 37 years, it’s no secret that he had his work cut out for him. He met every challenge head on with class and patience. As my dear friend of 40 years, he was equally loyal and generous to a fault. Safe travels Jb, you are sorely missed, now and forever.”
Ballard got his start in Hollywood while still a teenager, crashing the set of “Eight is Enough” as a high school journalism student and signing his first two clients — the show’s stars Adam Rich and Dick Van Patten.
He was dubbed the “boy publicist to the stars,” and opened Jeff Ballard P.

If 6'6'' 265-pound Rob Gronkowski shows up to your house, you better have plenty of extra taco meat. Luckily for Jeff Ballard -- former rep for Charlie Sheen, Zac Efron and Johnny Depp -- he was well-stocked when he got a text from a buddy asking if he could bring a "random" +1 to taco night. Gronk was in town and decided to swing by the Sherman Oaks backyard party with a mutual friend of Ballard's.

When porn star Brett Rossi filed a lawsuit against ex-fiancé Charlie Sheen on Thursday, she exposed her volatile and allegedly violent relationship with a man who was TV's highest paid actor at his peak – and whose personal ups and downs have fascinated the public throughout his career.
Rossi, born Scottine Ross, is suing Sheen for assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, false imprisonment and negligence after she claims he backed out of a $1 million settlement for allegedly hiding his HIV-positive status when they first had sex.
Sheen, 50, went public with his diagnosis last month, and he denies Rossi's accusations.

A dental technician who was attacked by Charlie Sheen last Thursday is now suing him for assault, battery, sexual battery, and emotional distress. The woman, Margarita Palestino, claims Sheen punched her in the chest and grabbed her bra when she tried to put a nitrous oxide mask on him. (He was at the office to get an abscess removed.) An oral surgeon and dentist who were present almost got hurt as well — the dentist claims Sheen pulled a knife on him. On Thursday, Sheen's lawyer, Marty Singer, said the incident was the result of a bad reaction to the nitrous oxide. Sheen's publicist, Jeff Ballard, also claimed there were "no illegal substances involved." The Lapd has an active investigation into the incident but hasn't released any more details. Charlie Sheen was walking around drunk through a Taco Bell drive-thru last week. Luckily, a Taco Bell patron who was sitting in a line of cars at the fast food eatery caught the whole drunken debacle on camera.
In the clip, which was posted to YouTube just yesterday, Sheen walks past cars in the drive-thru and begins talking to the cameraman through his open car window. Sheen and the man exchange names and shake hands before the 48-year-old actor says, "Sorry, I'm so f--king hammered."
Sheen then introduces himself to a female passenger before showing off a Charlie Brown cartoon tattoo on his chest. Sheen and the passengers exchange a few more pleasantries before Sheen walks off into the night in a drunken stupor.

Stop us if you've heard this before: Charlie Sheen is causing problems on set of his TV show.
The "Anger Management" star is stirring up some major drama for his FX show as he hasn't been showing up for work, THR reports. Sheen missed several days of work in recent weeks, causing the show's studio Lionsgate to delay production. The show has been using stand-ins for the actor in his absence, but that can only go so far.
Since Sheen knows that "Anger Management" can't go on without him, he's not worried, but his co-stars are getting fed up. According to one source, the rest of the cast is threatening to stop working if Sheen keeps this up.
However, according to Sheen's publicist Jeff Ballard, the show has not used stand-ins or shot around the actor. "We did not shoot last week because another member of the cast was sick,...

Charlie Sheen is at it again. The star of FX's Anger Management has missed several days of work in recent weeks, according to sources. The absences have forced the show’s studio, Lionsgate, to push production beyond what was planned and to use stand-ins for the actor in certain scenes. The moves are said to have angered many of Sheen's fellow castmembers. One source says the Anger cast is threatening to stop working if the absences persist. A Lionsgate spokesperson declined to comment on the situation. Sheen's publicist, Jeff Ballard, denies that the show has used stand-ins or shot

Raise your hand if you could never hear the dialog in Little Darlings because your gaydar was pinging so loudly when Kristy McNichol was onscreen.
Little Darlings
I see those hands. And today, your gaydar has been proven right. In this week's People McNichol acknowledged that she is indeed a lesbian. The actress also released a picture with her partner of more than 20 years, Martie Allen.
If you didn't raise your hand, you're probably a decade younger than those of us high-fiving because we knew it all along. McNichol was one of our favorite mulleted icons on '80s TV, appearing in everything from Family (in which she played Buddy, the younger sister of Meredith Baxter's character) to one of the kids on Empty Nest.
Along the way, she appeared in movies like Little Darlings and Two Moon Junction, which I watched over and over without ever quite knowing why.
