KEATON'S COP - FEATURE FILM
This was a great little film. Starring Lee Majors, Abe Vigoda, Don Rickles, Art LaFleur and me and my buddy George Albert Simonelli (God rest his soul. he past away in 1999) We both played hit-men (partners) who kill the wrong guys so the people that hired us wind up killing us for screwing up.
Ex-mobster Keaton (played by Abe Vigoda), now living in a retirement home, narrowly misses being the target of a mob hit. Policemen Jake (played by Don Rickles) , an old friend of Keaton's, and Gable (played by Lee Majors), a violent cop who takes an immediate disliking to the aging gangster are called in to keep Keaton safe as well as investigate the hit. There is a turn of events though when Jake is killed by the hit-men...Gable and Keaton are forced to get along while they search for whoever killed their friend and partner. Adding to the challenge, they only have 48 hours to solve this case on their own! Written by Jean-Marc Rocher. We shot on location in Galveston, Texas. It was my first time to Galveston. While we were theree there the cast and crew all stayed at the Key Largo Hotel right on the beach. I remember having some really good sea food and Bar B Q while I was there. Other actors seen in this scene are, Officer Diaz was played by Richard L. Duran and the nurse was played by Tracy Brooks Swope (when we filmed Tracy was married to famous film director, John Avildsen, He directed the first "Rocky", Lean on Me and all of the "The Karate Kid" movies.). The receptionist was played by Louise Melilli.
