Love Ashley Jensen

When I watched the first episode with the new "DI Calder" Jensen who replaced Henshall's "DI Perez" I was still sad and thinking this is not gonna work. But after a month I decided to keep watching the remaining 5 shows. I am so GLAD I did!!! Jensen brought a welcome change and the same deep intensity that I loved from Henshall. I had loved her comedic timing in Agatha Raisin so it was very surprising to see her in this role. Now I'm ready for next season and to see her further develop this character.

I liked how in the show her insights seem to come so organically as if she was really thinking about the issues and suddenly her expressions would give that "bell dinging over her head, I've got it figured out" look. Very believable!!

Nightmare Alley (2021)

Looking forward to this

Being a big fan of the 1947 Nightmare Alley with Tyrone Power, I'm looking forward to see this rendition. Previews make it look exciting and more sinister. Will leave a review afterwards. Trying hard not to look at reviews until then.

The Long Call (2021)

Slow to start but worth it

Yes the first episode is kinda slow but it seems to me as if it's intentional. Each episode peeled back the layers of lies and secrets. Even exposing Matthew to how he hid his own shame and even he had to tearfully acknowledge that. I hope there's a second season where the characters can be further developed.
