Drive (2011)
Feels authentic
"Drive" is a cinematic masterpiece that seamlessly blends action, suspense, and poignant storytelling into a mesmerizing experience.
At its heart, the film is a character who is never named, he is just referred to as "the Driver" (played by Ryan Gosling), a nameless Hollywood stuntman, mechanic, and professional underworld getaway driver. He is quiet, enigmatic, and violent when the occation arrives. He reminds me of the Terminator movie.
Director Nicolas Winding Refn crafts a visually stunning and stylistically unique film, with each frame meticulously composed to evoke a sense of tension and unease. The pulsating synth soundtrack adds another layer of atmosphere, perfectly complementing the film's neo-noir aesthetic.
Gosling delivers a mesmerizing performance, conveying emotions with subtle expressions. His character's moral ambiguity and simmering violence are offset by moments of tenderness and vulnerability.
The supporting cast, including Carey Mulligan, Bryan Cranston, and Albert Brooks, deliver equally compelling performances, fleshing out a world populated by complex and morally ambiguous characters.
Really, Albert Brooks, delivers an incredible performance in the role of a villain; I have never seen him be a villain before.
"Drive" is a masterclass in visual storytelling, with its gripping narrative, breathtaking cinematography, and haunting score leaving a lasting impression on me even as the credits roll.
Kill Chain (2019)
B Movie Low budget high talent
Another B movie
Looks low budget.
Has high talent.
I feel like the film is under-rated.
I found it entertaining and worth the watch in an ocean of LESS than B movies and series.
Felt like the major actors in the film were slumming it to be in the low budget filk.
By low budget I mean the scenes are few.
Maybe a dozen actors in the whole film, while the same scenes are used in most of it.
Most of it looks like it was filmed on location in a hotel.
Still the performance of the key actors really pretty good.
Anabelle Acosta
The Woman In Red
Excellent Acting.
One of two eye candy actress in the film
Nicolas Cage
Expected more screen time from him.
Feels like he earns his pay.
Enrico Colantoni
Brief but Excellent performance.
I don't know what the producers were expecting but I think they overkilled it on the acting talent.
Films like this would probably do better financially with attractive unknown actors who are more about staring in films for credit and marking themselves than making money.
If they could have filmed it in 2 weeks for under $30k it probably would have been more successful.

B Movie with credit to the actors for few "moments"
A solid B Movie with credit to the actors for few "moments."
The main acter delivers a relatable character of depression and suicide. He has a moment where he shares with his suicide partner his reasons for doing. Spoiler alert: The Black box comes into his life and we get to experience his childhood fantasy of being an astronut and going to the moon. An invulnerable killer (Kevin S.) tracks anyone who contacts the black box and kills them because, you have to pay the price. Would be nice if there was warning. Feels like a stranger kills you if you found and picked up a $1 off the ground. So it doesn't make me think the people who use it are evil. I would have written it with a story line of the Black Box users fight each other over the box instead of the Kevin Sorbo terminator.
The Movie is worth watching as a B movie.
